Ren'Py - Completed - Daddy's Goodnight Kiss [v1.1 HD] [Dirty Secret Studio]

So I am rating this a 3 because it is exactly the sort of game that would have blown my mind 10 years ago. By today's standards, it is grindy, buggy, and dull with no story line beyond "your daughter low key wants to fuck you, and so does her friend, and your niece, and some random-ass shopkeepers." Also, the graphics are horrible, the map is ridiculous, and there are not nearly enough signposts explaining how to function in the game.

That said, it is not nearly as egregiously bad as a lot of games on this site. It has some decent ideas and at least attempts to instill personality into the characters beyond "fuck doll." Once upon a time, this would have been an excellent porn game. Sadly, that time is not now.

I missed the Netorare tag, or I would not even have tried this. But no big deal, since it was so bad I couldn't even keep going far enough to get to the NTR shit.

First, the graphics. I usually dont let the graphics determine much about a game, but... these are so horrible, that does not apply here.

Some of the faces are just fucking nightmare inducing. How the dev was able to look at that and say "this is good enough" just blows my mind.

Second... everything else. The poses? horrible. Would have been better to just use stock poses and I HATE Those. One scene where a girls ass loooks like it was ripped off and sewn back on. The virgin daughters snatch is stretched open enough to fist her virginity away, and part of her beef flaps are hanging off (looks like it was torn or cut, you can see light through it).

I cant comment much on the story since I couldnt force myself to keep going, but... its like 5 repetitive things and then suddenly you are fucking her, and the next day you fuck her with her best friend, in the shower, etc. No pacing. Don't waste your time. This should not have been released, not even in a beta form.

okayish graphics, very stupid plot, takes forever to get anywhere regarding sexscenes, developer added to game very weird requirements to engage on some women, worst piece of cake is that quite often player doesn't know what do and when.

recommended to avoid this and rest of this dev's games.

Everything felt average and nothing felt done to high standard.
Models and renders seems old and lacking. Story, well lets say its not really existent as you need to grind through stats to reach a certain point so you could unlock a scene that you will be grinding again... Which is very tedious. Overall average game, nothing special and needs lots of improvement.

Despite not so good graphics and very simple animations this game have potential to be good game.

Unfortunatelly it's too bugged to play at the current state. Only total remake could help here to make it better.

really grindy,and the animations are somewhat clunky more a slideshow,at least there is a cheatmode in consele commands (cheats_enabled = 1) wich helps with the progress but when u use it u surely miss some stuff some endings are hard to get read the walktroughs in forum
some spell errors when u alter the releations of the members of household( for example brenda still calls dad landlord sometimes when she talks to emily) at dugeons and thrones some chars are called emily instead daughter...minor stuff

This game code quality is really bad and the models are scary, but I like the story a lot. This is why I played it a few time.

The ending were you're trying to corrupt the whole town can be quite funny, if you manage to achieve it.

Now that the renders are in HD, the next step would be to update some of the models.

Good game! the plot is good but something isn't good.
I think the daughter is the best character of the game.
She is very sexy and very desirous.
about the animations aren't perfect...
the game is quite intuitive.
the secretary is horrible...

I do not know what so called Bugs are supposed to be fixed, because there are still bugs. Even when you choose to either to ignore or rollback, the game suddenly crashes on you.

As for HD I cannot see any differences myself from the pre-HD versions. The game is still pretty unplayable even in this latest version.

Bad writing + grinding + no clear direction + grainy visuals + facial expressions that would look more at home on a Slipknot mask = Not. A. Fun. Time

Sorry, I always try to be constructive in my feedback but this is just a mess. I appreciate trying to remaster it but for me even with better visuals I'd still give it 2 stars max. It's in desperate need of easier, clearer, more linear gameplay and a full on proof-read to be something I'd enjoy.

It's not a real "completed game". We can see the game has been aborted.
For exemple, with one of the girls the mc has an intimate relation with, there's almost no content. The content is not well balanced at all, it is really focused on only one girl even though there's a lot of women involved with the mc. The female protagonist is not hot or likeable in my pov.
It's a sandbox game without a walkthrough.

At the start the game was somewhat fun but as it progresses, content is hid behind glitches and missing variables. To top it all of the models are horrifying, the nightclub scene with ward, brenda and sam is something out of a horror movie.

Blegh. It's pretty hard to get past some of the disgusting faces and weird body poses and animations. Some of them are fucking nightmare fuel. The renders are pretty terrible too. So grainy.

The story is interesting but the models are so fucking ugly sometimes that it's really hard to want to make progress in this game.

The scoring system can be confusing too.

Any game that you got-to use cheats and edit your save file in order to finish the game because of the bugs and glitches in it should not get the completed label really I think the developer abandoned it but wanted to say that it was done you'll spend most of your time, trying to make progress only to realise that you're stuck in a loop.

It has like two goodest scenes and one okay scene so I figured I'll give it two stars... The story is Terrible, CG is Poor and about 80% of the scenes are bad due to them not being completed or just how they were done.

NTR (netorare) is forced on you there is no avoiding it. -1 star

Gave this game 2 stars due to liking the concept and overall play style for the game but this game has too many bugs and errors. The characters are for the most part ugly at best and after a certain point you can tell an ending option was designed due to all other branches in the game being broken.

The game has good potential but is plagued by bad CG models and incoherent timeline.

Gameplay: The game itself is okay. There is basically no needless grinds, some repetition for affection/lust, but it's minimal and can almost entirely be progressed with new events. The city map could use some work, it's basically 20 or so locations with hardly distinguishable icons, all the same color, so you often end up just hovering over each one to know where it is. The intro is actually the only annoying part, you basically gotta click everywhere until you click the right thing.

CG: This is where most points are loss. The models used are not that great. One sex scene in particular, the female character had a mouthful of giant teeth that reminded me of Attack on Titans, she is supposedly a virgin yet she leans back and her vagina is stretched to the point you could stick your fist in there without touching it, and it's made even more hilarious in the sex scene when the MC's dick appeared to barely touch the insides.

Immersion: The game does a pretty good job of pacing the action. It starts with a standard relationship with most characters that, in theory, should escalate well. So if you meet a girl and immediately try to kiss her, she'll react accordingly and lose a lot of affection, for instance. But...

Fluidity: The above being said, the triggers almost only look at stats, which leads to incoherent series of events. For one character in particular, because I repeated some events to see what happened with alternate options, I ended up with affection and lust that is high enough to trigger the first sex scene where she basically begs for it, while the previous scenes had been her being rather shy about her body. It apparently skipped something like 20 events, just because stats happened to be there.

It's an alright game, but CGs are kind of a turn off, and the incoherence breaks the build up.

The above doesn't totally make the game unplayable but makes it very disheartening to continue playing. One thing that helps is the ability to end the game and watch all the now available endings. I will continue to play just to see how many achievements I can get before I get tired of playing. The graphics are only average with some of them being too dark to pick up enough detail to see what's going on but the dialog helps to figure it out. The story is well thought out and executed from a story telling POV but the bugs very much detract from the overall experience even though most of them can be ignored.

This could easily be a 4 or 5 star game but due to bugs is only a 2. Dev needs to pay better attention to his/her coding to avoid so many bug that need to be fixed.

This game has a lot of big flaws, so much I don't really know where to begin so I will just list them here:
- The renders and 'animations' are poorly done: lightning looks bad making characters look either grainy or just grey skinned.
- The animations are 2 frames quickly flipping back and forth, looking ridiculous.
- The game tries to use a sort of RPG system of skills you can have, the good part of that is that the MC's 'lust' stat works with other possible choices in game. The bad part is that the rest makes it all very grindy.
- speaking of grind: the 'open world' is littered with random triggers for events that you can hardly find without help/direction/walkthrough. Going through all of them would take not just weeks in-game time, but real world hours as well, it is not fun and doesn't add anything.
- The lust and affinity stats of characters are easy to get completely out of wack: at one moment the 'ward' (read: daughter) did not like it when the MC touched her thigh. 3 Days later she was giving me an masturbation show...
- For every other character then the daughter, the affinity and lust stats are just bigger, drawn out grinds to manage and improve for any steps forawrd in what little story there is to this game.

I skipped most side characters, mostly ignored the wife and focused my play on the niece and daughter. By day 40 I had already had sex with both of them, skipping a lot of triggers and then the game threw up an error which closed the game down...

It is a buggy mess at this time and I just can't recommend wasting time on this.

Hey there kids, do you like grinding away mindlessly? Do you like games where the main female lead looks like she's midway through chemo treatment and has rotten teeth from all the meth, AND a busted up cunt that looks like she's been fucked by half of the pornstars in hollywood? Do you like a storyline that involves forced NTR? Do you like a game that just randomly resets your progress forcing you to grind even more? How about a game that used to be incest, but then tried to switch the story to keep a patreon page up, but did so so poorly that half of the interactions still say 'dad' or 'mom' but then the other half don't? Do you like a game with mediocre visuals in the best of scenarios? How about unlocking sexual scenes / events only to have them be permalocked and unavailable ever again? Did I mention the random rollback and resetting of certain stats, including but not limited to scene events, love / lust / discipline / bitcoins / cash / items in inventory? Maybe dead end quests that just never go anywhere (town hall / church for example) are your thing?

If you like ALL of those things, then guess what, this game is for you!

If not, avoid this broken, ugly, poorly written, piece of garbage.


Further clarification:

The worst part is I played a much earlier version of the game and was willing to overlook certain flaws, like the terrible visuals. "they'll improve over time" I told myself. Nope, they've gotten worse, I swear. I mean I get it, the attempt to make people look 'realistic' and not have everyone be a supermodel. But guess what, when literally everyone in the game is at best a 4 out of 10, and half of the characters look like drug abusers who will do anything for a fix, you start to appreciate the games that do have nothing but bombshells. Especially when the main character / love interest looks as absolutely terrible as she does.

The bugs and renpy errors have gotten so much worse. Honestly this game MIGHT be slavagable if someone competent took all the visuals and just recoded it from the ground up. But the bugs, the rollbacks, the ability to fuck characters before you ever talk to them and having the plotline just absolutely all over the map makes this thing a pile of steaming garbage.

Avoid at all costs.

The story and gameplay have been just OK, but much of the art is extremely inconsistent, with many characters seemingly rendered in a different style. Additionally, much of it is rather poor (terribly rendered teeth, fairly ugly faces, etc).
