The game doesn't run at all?
Well the main menu loads some of the save data (to create the character pictures for the save slots) so it's likely that the save data is corrupted. The game is supposed to check for corrupt files and attempt to fix them, but it looks like that hasn't worked in your case.
If possible, please could you send the save data (normally found under C:/Users/<USER>/AppData/Roaming/Dapplecap/) so I can look through it and see if I can spot where the corruption is?
