This doesn't run on Linux for me. It's actually 438 lines worth of errors too, if I launch it via terminal to see what's going on. Should I like DM you my error log or just post it here?
That being said I can run the Windows version via Wine, but it lags pretty bad, and insofar I can't help but wonder why not just use Renpy? Nothing that's happened yet couldn't be easily done in Renpy, and it'd be a cakewalk to have a Linux port going instead of fixing so many errors.
If you go to ~/.local/share/godot/app_userdata/Dark Dimensions- Spiritual Successor/logs/ you can post the log file from there.
It runs on my setup, I've been using Linux almost exclusively since the end of 2023.
As far as Ren'py, it's not an option, it was explored for the first 3 months of production.
lostraven also said he'd kill us all if we switched engines.
Speppo82 Can you tell me more about your system.
In general... Spine isn't light. Also I will say right now there is a bug in Godot 4.3 - 4.4 that is affecting all the text in the game with outlines / shadows that causes it to make a lot of unnecessary draw call which causes more processing power to be needed by GPUs.
4.5 should be out before the next release, which does have a partial fix... So will have to see if it will go far enough or if I'll have to make adjustments to all the text.
