Ren'Py - Dark Magic [v0.20.1] [F. Lord]

Wow, just... wow. This game is painfully generic. I'd go as far as to say - it's THE definition of generic.

The characters look generic to the point that it took me some time to see the differences between Airi and Nami, or Namie (uh-huh, even the names) and Kimiko. Made in vanilla HS with barely any imagination. There's very little difference in their facial features and even the body types don't vary too much. Nobody stands out. They are incredibly bland.
And holy shit, Tamiko is creepy.

The story is generic. You get your superpowers and go around corrupting people and grinding stats.
The writing is horrible, so you don't get particularly attached to the characters or interested in whatever is going on. You can forget about characters having interesting personalities or any motivations. They are just unimaginative fuckdolls. And the protagonist is an insufferable, spoiled piece of shit that treats his family like crap.
There are not many spelling errors per se, but some sentences don't make any sense at all. To the point where it's actually hard to understand what the hell the characters are talking about.

The setting is not thought-out. Too many loopholes and unexplained stuff about this world that doesn't make any sense.

The gameplay is generic. You get your obligatory mother, sister, childhood friend; peeking, gradually groping while they sleep etc., etc., etc. It's done by the book with nothing of interest added from the author.
Even sex can't save this game, because Animation and render quality is bad and full of artifacts.

I won't talk about the music much. It's also pretty bad, but really, who cares? You can just turn it off.

Even UI is generic, with barely any work put into it.

There's really nothing in this game that is interesting, original or at least truly well made. What a waste of time...

This is an Excellent Game! Hint system is so good that I could complete 95% of the contents without walkthrough.

-Characters 5/5 Each character's so attractive.

Lots of broken paths in gameplay so you don't know where you suppose to go. No hints. No guide or walkthrough at all. Too much grinding. Lots of save bugs. You can't progress further. Seems that it focuses on Airi and Momoko (MC's sister) only. Story sounds good but gameplay sucks big time. hence one star.

I enjoyed this game a lot. I find it very hard to find games with this much content that are able to keep me engaged. I especially like the fantasy genre and incest elements. Reminds me a lot of Mythic Manor which is probably my favorite games.

The title is interesting but has some flaws.
graphics: the subjects are well designed, the girls are very nice and well differentiated from each other, I am not a giant and disproportionate breast lover but fortunately they are not all girls with cow-like exaggerated boobs. The backgrounds are a little less cared for, fairly flat and I don't notice a masterful use of lights and shadows as in other titles of greater scenographic depth.
On the rooms I notice an excessive mix of totally anachronistic elements with each other, we go from ancient Japanese style houses to modern furnishings. Modern industrial objects in semi-medieval-fantasy contexts that in my opinion screech a lot. The whole has something demential.
The sore point are the animations, often with too few frames making the sequences not very fluid and often even disturbing.
The story left me a little perplexed, at first it seemed just stupid, sometimes it made me laugh with taste just for its illogical dementia, with evolving it acquired more consistency making me re-evaluate the whole. I found parts of it slow and a bit annoying.
On a musical level I would say discreet, overall suitable music although often too repetitive.
The characters are quite well characterized with often well defined and differentiated personalities.
If the programmers revised the animations I would raise the rating to 4 stars.

Good and strong variety of supernatural power and my favorite of course.

~>Also the game story looks like consist of country where gladiator, spartan, ninja. Chines, Egyptian, pirates, and mysterious cult have been around 4 many years. Looks like the F. Lord also love the game Warfcraft I have seen a lot of design familiar and it is synchronize to the story very well

~> A strong story point about family, relatives, friends, and important moral story that can carry in real life "TREASURE ur love ones give time even they are annoying sometimes or exhaust on daily job. " By BONDING TOGETHER.

~> The TRUE meaning of loneliness, problems on everyone struggle to survive, feeling out of place in the society, unique or abnormality of personality, what it feels like to have someone to hold on and to rely when you needed most.

~>Variety of special personality and discovery of how it would feels to have sex 4 very first time on MC and all around of women.

~>Instrumental music that can bring relaxation like a breeze in air and warmth to body also it is synchronize perfectly on the game background and story definitely a wise choice of music.

~>game design and art also synchronize and harmony perfectly on the game.

~>F.Lord totally is totally a game developer professional level on my opinion he knows what to put in the game and not to add on or remove. A dedicated and passionate person indeed in his career. Although the typo English sometimes are wrong but understandable.

I'm having a lot of fun with this it may even end up being one of my favourites it has many and i mean many different women to get with and hopefully more to come.

The story is not bad i would like a bit more story dialogue for each character and maybe a bit more control over sex scenes, the characters are well done but may need some work with HQ animations but still well done.

Only downside for me is maybe 80% of the women have huge titties if u love games with gals with massive titties as big as their bodies then this may be perfect for you.

But yeah nice work F.LORD looking forward to see what else u add to this.

I've been playing this game since its early days and there is quite grown to be one of my Favorites.

You get to have your Harem of attractive Woman with alot of content.
The spectrum of diffrent characters might be very sterotypical but there is still something for everyone.
Needles to say this Game will offer hours of fun and the regular updates just make this Game better.

The only negative aspect I could be making, is that it can get difficult to find where the story continues. But I have to admit I tried to utilise the Help as little as possible. Also it can get grindy, but definetly not as grindy as other titles in this genre.

Anyone with the love for a Harem Genre will love this Game. And for the people that seek a good story, I would probably seek other games.

Most games have at least one fault that is worth pointing out when you review, but Dark Magic is as close to perfect H-game as you can find. If the tags are something you are into then I strongly suggest you play this game.

Story- The story is well written, and the characters are surprisingly developed. The world building is rather normal as far as H-games are concerned centering around the "last man on earth" scenario with corrupting magic thrown into the mix. Although there is nothing ground breaking in concept itself it is done well.

Art & Animation- Everyone has their own taste when it comes to hentai art style. Personally this is 5/5 for me, but since it is up to taste I will leave it at that. The animation is perfect. This is what animators that work on H-games should aspire to.

Gameplay & Fun Factor- The gameplay is mostly centered around increasing different girls corruption, gaining money, managing your mana, increasing stats, and of course H-scenes. It is simi non-linear in what you decide to focus on which I consider to be a big selling point. Fun factor is off the scales. Its a fun game that is well worth your time.

One of my favorites, very developed characters and history, and the H scenes are awesome, i really like this game, but if I could I would add more group events or even something that could let me do it, like corrupt some of them and make a group event.

Very Well made game the h scenes are well animated the witting is written well enough and not cheesy the game play is point and clip but not bad for an h game the characters are all very sexy and well made the amount of characters is very plentiful and gives you a lot of different scenes to enjoy give it a shot and support the creator if possible Also the design of all the girls is Asian which earns bonus points from me

This game is OK but definetely not in my favorites.

The models could be better, but this level of quality is to be expected with Honeyselect games. There are however a ton of characters to makeup for this. The downside is that most characters are irrelevant and have little screen time and scenes.

The animations honestly surprised me. There are some HQ animations here. The corruption however is inconsistent throughout the game. Some characters you are able to corrupt a lot, some a little and some not at all, which is a shame considering this is the main reason i wanted to play the game.

My biggest problem however with this game are the characters and story. Maybe its just me, but I do enjoy it when characters seem interesting and are more than just sex dolls. In this game however the story is very low quality and the characters are nothing more than sex dolls with no purpose for existing other than having sex. I can see some people's interest in this kind of "express" game, but with so much high quality stuff out there i dont see why you would play this instead.

Fantasy theme is really fit with visual appearance of this game. You can free roam and choose what is want to do and with which character. Animations are smooth and hot. There are enourmus amount of character in this game and and you can seduce them. Usually I don't like incest but in this game it worked for me as well. Maybe the fantasy kingdom environment was the cause.

now i am talking about the DARK MAGIC by F LORD and i just wanna say this game is f**king awesome i never played game like this before i really liked the story .... the game developer did really hard work for developing this game i cant explain in words how much its good so better to give it just one try you will find out why i am saying this game is comparable . thanks F LORD sir

I'm not entirly sure why this game is rated so highly. I played for about 3 hours, so my review may just cover the early release, and the modern additions are better.

mechanics:

The mechanics of the game are clunky. The navigation system gave me a mild headache and was the primary reason for retiring.

Graphics:

Compared to modern releases the render quality was lacking.

Corruption:

As a fan of the corruption genre, the level of corruption was limited.

Random text drops: the fapabbility

The one thing that will kill any game for me is when I have zero controll over sex scenes or story dialogue. For example, if I am grinding for money using the money grind mechanic and all of a sudden there is a half hour backstory drop I lose intrest. I'm playing to be in control.

In a porn game you need to be able to predict the duration and timing of the porn, otherwise the game will be unfappable.

Nice renders, quality animations, and a pretty decent amount of content. Story is OK, not bad, but nothing super memorable so far. I required a walkthrough at times to continue the story. Could use some quality of life improvements (ie. being able to buy more than 1 consumable item at a time).

Overall it's pretty good, definitely worth the time investment to complete the content so far.

Good Points
+ We have a well-written interesting main story and well-written side story events with girls/women.
+ We have very beautiful and sexy women/girl characters.
+ We have animations for sex scenes and they have well-made physics.

Bad Points
- Render and animation quality needs to improve, we are in 2022, and this game still getting updates even after 4 years but there is not enough improvement enough. While I like the game render/animation style I do believe it needs quality improvement for sure. Yes 4 years ago they were looking good, but now they look bad and old.
- After too many years of developing time it's still not completed, we still didn't get enough content for the main story, and it's annoying...
- Especially with the latest 3-4 updates the game started feeling boring.
- This is a sandbox game and while at first, you do feel like you can choose what you want like choosing when you wanna have a scene with someone or not have with the ones you don't like that's not true. Especially with v0.16.0, you are forced to have content with a couple of girls for progressing story, which is total nonsense for a sandbox game like this to not give you a change to choice girls you can have in your harem or have which girls as your girlfriends.

4 years ago this was a pretty good game but with time passing and DEV not improving his game visually and even not adding the most important features sandbox should have like choices giving you the option to avoid some girls etc did number on this game. This game should have ended 2 years ago or DEV should have improved his game more to reach today's standards but both of them have not happened and sadly this game is not a good game anymore...

i just love this game 10/10.
the story, the graphics, the characters, the humor. Excellent.
And the tasks/missions are easy to follow.
just to bad that there are so few games of this kind of quality And caliber.
I highly recommend this game to anyone old or new.

Great art, visual design, and has the elements of a great game except writing. The story is dull and there doesn't seem to be much going on. At this point it's basically a cg gallery that you have to grind for. The weak writing means there's not much of a sense of roleplay or immersion. It's just a bunch of attractive porn pics.

It's also not obvious sometimes how to progress the game, best to cheat.

One of the best Honey Select games I have played, characters are well designed, good proportions, has a story, has lots of content as of v0.8.1. Wish we could get more information on how they were able to concieve. Lots of characters. Hope to see the oppurtunity for pegnancies in the future
