VN - Ren'Py - Completed - Dating My Daughter [Ch. 1-4 v1.01] [MrDots Games]

Dating My Daughter is a victim of its own success. It follows the same formula as the author’s previous work, Melody, but unlikely Melody it overstays its welcome, going on for two season too long, and dialogue that got tedious long before the ending credits roll. Still, the adult content is top notch, and the group adult scenes are excellent. I would definitely recommend the first two chapters for anyone who wants to see a semi-believable incest story that branches into a satisfying harem. If only it hadn’t gone on so long…


The story is a good one, though too heavily padded as we get into seasons 3 and 4. A man reconnects with his daughter and they slowly start a love affair while she tries to get her life on track with a modeling career. The pace isn’t brisk but it was fast enough that I didn’t feel compelled to skip through the content… until the later seasons of course.


The first season is a very slow burn as the MC slowly wears down his daughter’s defenses with most of the adult content coming in the later seasons as you slowly progress from hand holding to kissing to oral all the way up to group and sharing content. Thankfully there is a story and it’s not a terrible one, with the MC’s daughter struggling with bullies in her job as well as with making sure no one finds out she’s shtooping her dad.


In the end, it was a decent game. A little formulaic and it went on for far too long, but there’s a wealth of good adult content here attached to a story that was worth reading, at least initially. 3 ½ stars.

This is a really long game, and there are some enjoyable scenes in it that would deserve 3-4 stars. Style of writing and story are unfortunately so bad overall, that I cannot give more than two stars for the whole thing.

Pacing is off
I tend to like slow burn and slice of life stories, but the burn was just too slow at the beginning and too fast later, the interactions too boring and repetitive. In the beginning D needs several attempts until she finally really gives oral to MC and she has a hard time even showing her breasts to family or friends. But she'll go from "normal" sex to full public and swinging in no time at all.

MC's personality
MC is a passive coward with no agency. He has zero plans for his daughter, or his other relationships, he's constantly fearing what will happen when D finds out about his cheating but does nothing to prepare for that moment. He is way, waaaay too civil and forgiving in regards to his ex-wife Rachel.

Romance
The romance feels flat. Both F and D (and other pairings as well) say they're very much in love, yet they both cheat on each other without batting an eye. They SAY they feel guilty about it, but it never really feels that way. They SAY they're deeply in love with each other, but it never really feels that way. I've played lots of AVNs where the MC cheated (they're porn games after all) and the writer still managed to convey the feeling that MC loves the girls he cheated on. This is not really the case here. DMD feels like everyone is lieing to everyone -including themselves.

Sharing/Swinging in Non-Sharing path
I do know that I'm far more sensitive to sharing stuff than the average person, so take this point with a grain of salt if you're not overly sensitive.
The person/people(?) writing this obviously like sharing and swinging, it is a huge optional part of the game. As I've already noticed with other devs, people who like sharing often have trouble keeping "sharing themes" out of the non-sharing paths, I guess because they don't even notice the little things as sharing. I hate sharing and tried to avoid it as best I could, using the WT mods. I still had to see an awful lot of "sharing related" stuff, I just don't want to see or read about:

• Guys (including the antagonist) and girls gawking at D and other LIs in lingerie or naked, in some cases taking photos, some of them fapping while gawking.
• LIs doing stuff with other girls behind MC's back. Here they don't pretend like girls don't count, they do indeed feel guilty about cheating on MC with girls -but it's still there, on the non-sharing path.
• Worst instance of girls stealing girls from MC: Elena doesn't use the big dildo on Jennifer because she wants MC to be Jennifer's first. Except she already used smaller ones on her, so that ship has sailed, and then she proceeds to take Jennifer's anal virginity as well.
• LIs talking about fucking other guys, finding them sexy, etc.
• Side LI sending nude pics to old dude in exchange for favor.
• Ex-wife of MC shown fucking other people than MC several times.
• Antagonist shown enjoying a stripper.

Rachel
Rachel is MC's ex-wife and D's mother. I hate her, or rather how MC treats her, with a passion. She's human scum. Spoilers ahead:

The positive
On the plus side, the sex scenes are decent on average. The renders are still ok-ish for current times in my opinion and there's some dirty talk, some anal, some deepthroat. Could be better, but could also be a lot worse. I liked most of the models, especially Jennifer, Elena and Margo, although the heads of Elena and Jennifer are too big.
What I did like and what is pretty rare in other games, is that the LIs not only often wear lingerie, but keep wearing it during sex. I love girls in sexy clothes and having sex with the panties just pulled to the side and similar, which is unfortunately pretty rare in AVNs (and porn in general).

If i have to find a redeeming quality for this game i would say... the models are ok-ish...?

Apart that, this game is absolutely pure nothing. Monotone, repetetive, lame dialogs, non existing plot, flat character, cringy interactions, absolutely nothing to be entertained from. The game even tries to be smart setting obvious traps here and there, and i'm not referring to transexuals, just third grader's level tricks.

Nothing to see here. A total waste of time.

This one is excellent game with awesome renders and graphics and overall really arousing. The story is big enough and the characters are really apppealing. There are some small flaws like the quaility of cumshots and so on but all other...perfect.

The story is extremely granular and the writing does it no favors. It feels like it could have been a way more interesting narrative if it wasn't trying to show you every waking hour of every day. A few good moments but feels like a scrap of butter scraped over an entire loaf.

Waited until the final version before rating this one. All in all, very good game! Fun characters, great renders and good animations. Also really liked the story progression.

The only negative feedback on my part is that the ending felt a little rushed. IMO, it had too few sex scenes and they felt a little generic.

This is my second time playing through the game and getting to the end of Chapter 2...I restarted because I see there are 4 chapters and now the game is complete; thus the restart.

+ I do appreciate the loli figures of Jennifer and Elena as a contrast to the typical VN's with big tit, full ass of the daughter, Georgina, the ex-wife, etc.

> Story is fine...again nothing to write home about (see what I did there).

+ The grooming/corruption progression is what makes this VN shine. Because just when you think it's time to "do the deed", the progression takes a short step forward instead of going all the way. This builds tension and keeps the user clicking through the story/scenes.

OVERALL:
I enjoy these first two chapters enough that I'm back to finish the story as I start back at the beginning.
Are there better ones out there? Sure.
But this will be right up the alley for some, while others will come out here and leave the 3 or less star reviews they already have posted.

Like other titles from this developer (Mr. Dots), Dating My Daughter (DMD) presents some sexy scenarios, plenty of lewd scenes, and art that is decent, though not great. He also consistently writes lousy, banal dialog and crafts juvenile plots. So I find myself skipping a lot of the text, stopping for the lewd scenes, which are generally pretty good and sprinkled with effective dirty talk. Also, as a fan of sharing and swinging, I love how adventurous the MC and daughter can become (if you select those routes) by the end.

In short, if you're looking for a sophisticated story and well-crafted characters or conversation, you won't find that here. But if you can be satisfied with a very fappable incest tale with a variety of possible endings, DMD delivers.

this game has a story that draws people in, but is held back because of it's cinematic value.

while the characters look ok, they are usually stuck in the same couple poses, the same is true for facial expression. it gets boring quick when big reveals are reacted to with the same open mouth with a hand over it again and again

the staging for the scenes of the game, from what i remember is too rigid. i feel as if there is too much movement between the actions characters do for me to consider it smooth. there are even times when the same image is used twice or possibly more in one scene

there is also little attention paid to the use of lighting in this game. most of the game's scenes are given a high-key approach, which takes away from any kind of suspense or nuance

camerawork is also very basic. the shot angles; a lot of it is the same type of first person and some kind of third person around particular parts of the body, shots which themselves aren't very interesting.
not only the angles, but camera functions such as field of view and depth of field are, to my memory, never touched.

sound is used in this game, but rarely anything good is done with it. of memory, it is not used in either for dramatic effect, or to demonstrate the overall tone of the scene. it doesn't help the narrative along at all.

these issues cause the game's more developmental scenes; where there would be dramatic change to the story, instead fall flat as they come across as normal every day small talk.

there is also the dialogue problems. the main issue i have is that there is too much of a telegraph to what characters are thinking for there to be any interest in the dialogue. also, using "sigh" in a sentence to try and tell us a person is sighing shows an overreliance on text, move things like this to body language and facial expressions.

the environments themselves can feel so empty, at times as if the only characters that are present are the ones involved in the story. extras can exist off screen even while talking to the cast, and there are even times when background characters look like something went wrong in rendering them. i also remember one time a building block would just simply end and there would be simply an open field

overall, the interest in the narrative is drowned by the lack of experience with the use of a 3d approach to a vn. should the developer become more experienced in the advantages of the 3d approach, i would be most willing to play more of their games.

At times humorous and dramatic, this series does a great job of crafting a narrative and setting you out on it. Most of the models are greatly rendered, erotic scenes are flavorful without getting too crass. Some of the characters actually have some decent depth or backstory that turns them into more than just objects. Really enjoyed this series.

DMD is probably one of the first games many people started with and many had high hopes throughout the many years of development.
Sadly it turned out to be one of those games that were unnecessarily dragged incredibly long until the pond was dry.

The game started off pretty well, but looking back at it, even the first 2 episodes aged terribly and felt grindy.
The Dev totally lost the plot and his mind at ch.3, when he turned this in to another generic shitty porn game and added nonsense fetishes to it and made the daughter a brainless slut.

The writing and dialogues got worse and worse as the game progressed and you could feel that the Devs didn´t give a shit anymore and just milked their cashcow for years until it was dead.
I think looking at this game shows how far games have come, because DMD is a 2-Star game at best and everything about the game aged terribly.

This is one of the longest and most incredible VN I have played. You can feel that a lot of care went to the writing of this romance story, with plenty of development, turns, places, interesting characters, and many emotions. The long road of awkwardly interacting with your daughter to the full passion that blossoms between father and daughter is fantastic and very well paced, despite being a tad too long. The models are beautiful, the many different choices and branches are sure to give you plenty of replay. The game is filled with great scenes with many different characters, all of them taking care to work well with the narrative you are immersed in. The ideal is to take your time with the game and not rush it, but actually savor the story, because it is well worth it. Dating My Daughter is definitely a game to recommend, and I am glad that I was recommended to try it. But the walkthrough is necessary, some things do branch out quite a bit in later moments.

After countless ages of waiting for last chapter .....

Went from a easy 4+/5 too 3/5
it feels rushed and low effort and totally kills off any interest of replay or positive feel to it (and I already knew much was cut etc... for easing use of patreon or w/e which should have improved the next issue but instead does opposite since it would have helped..)
Last chapter is regardless of anything including solo love to her she is massively corrupt (other then a couple story moments which then feel less fitting from how corrupt she is ie sex addict and public etc...) and any attempt at story is almost non existent any ways..
All choices even feel like the maker is slapping you across the face because you choose anything but what maker intended and you get whatever option maker wanted any ways.... with it often even basically saying no you cant choose that that bad here is a preachy things saying how this is the option you really wanted....
There are only 2 things that can actually be influenced at this point and 1 is just clearly tossed on for those wanting that scene (totally random threesome with a certain woman if you choose you as daughter were ok kissing before...) and if you did not get pregnant choice previous chapter you can here which feels you really really do want to do since she crys etc... a lot for it though really only pay off is a pic of a few years later.


Sex is great
(though many the optional side ones are hit or miss and feel many were tacked on or just because you may not do them were left all too often motionless).


Any ways really sucks that after years it ended god awful and would strongly advise either skipping last chapter or just enjoy it for the fap.

Mr. Dots Magnum Opus, the game that started it all. I can't believe it is finally complete, after seven long years. Following this project was great fun, but how does it fare as a full, complete game?

Porn wise: it's pretty good. If you want to watch models getting it on, get on they do, a lot.

Story wise: The first two chapters are a very slow burn, the other two are devoid of any tension or build up. It is indeed porn, no more no less.

Character wise: the mc is the mc of literally every other porn game: an exceptionally well endowd, well-behaved, in good shape, thirthy something years old man that has no socond thought about fucking his daughter and all her friends, with the possibility of sharing her with his own friends. Great for porn but bad for suspension of disbelief.

Personal experience: the project was milked so hard and lasted so long that I got married and had a daughter of my own, which SURPRISE SURPRISE made this game lose most of its charm.

I recently played this visual novel game and had mixed feelings about it. On one hand, the characters were well-developed and I found myself invested in their stories. However, the overall plot was somewhat predictable and didn't offer many twists or turns. The art style was nice, but the animation could have been smoother. I also experienced a few bugs while playing, but they didn't significantly impact my enjoyment of the game. Overall, I would give this game a 3/5 star rating. It was a decent visual novel experience, but it didn't quite live up to my expectations.

Mommy, It's Over!

5 years stretch is over since Dating My Daughter is finished.

Story might be silly (it's silly on many other games too) but as long as it works it works, graphics might not be top notch but don't need to be since those are good enough.

Since story is about father and daughter fucking like duracell bunnies this game isn't for everyone.

Game has enough kinks like loli and bdsm (mild) that many get their share of content, also game has different paths to play like monogamy path with daughter only up to full harem path.

Game's multiple endings depend what options are active and whatnot.

This is 1 of best incest game.

it was amazing at the beginning but then game went to vanilla story which makes it nothing special than tons of other games of this genre.
If you wanna see swinger club event with no swinging. Side characters which start to have plot which will be abandoned for later - thats the game for you!

For a VN to be truly good it either need amazing renders, an engaging plotline or great gamplay.

Renders: This VN started very early. Fair to say a lot of us joined this Website because of DmD. It is unfortunate that Renders this not evolve with the time. In 2016 there was nothing else like it. Now It is subpar. So many Dev does this better nowadays

Story: The plot had an interesting albeit unoriginal begining. Faceless big cock MC see his daughter for the first time after a few years. Hijinks Mary Sue plotline ensue and he not only seduce her but all her friends and many more. there is no real choice, not moment that can change the outcome. in the end the only difference is how many pussy do MC pound daily. mutiply that by 2 for pregnant/not-pregnant. That's your 15 endings. That's not really a spoiler as the road is a flat and predictable as Kansas.

Gameplay: Same as renders, gameplay has not evolved since 2016 and since nothing really impact the story the whole point system, the whole corruption system doesn't do anything. You'll hit those mark everytime on the exact same beat. This should be redesignated a kinetic novel instead of VN.

The game was great overall and I'm glad they finished it unlike other devs. However, I am pretty disappointed with Ch4 and how unrewarding it was regarding the choices we made:
- any real content with bdsm, anal, feet, bj, etc is missing.
- the other girls got completely neglected and there's very little content with them, even less pose/kink variation than with D.
- I don't feel like there were any real branching paths with different content.
- there could have been so many more kinks and fetishes added to the game gated by choices for the non-enjoyers (beastiality, pissing, humiliation, actual bdsm, rape etc.).

So one of the longest running adult VN's finally ends

3 years and 2 chapters late

Dev's changed direction halfway through development and what once was a great game winded up in a slow dying husk of its potential where the same poses and infomercial dialog dragged on interminably culminating with the dev taking a break on finishing the game for a few months to work on their other game without pausing subscriptions (cough milking much) culminating in a final episode of 15 minutes "gameplay" half of which is flashback reused images.

Worth playing for the 1st 2 chapters before the phoning in insipidness takes over in the final 2 chapters.
