But deleting the package after installing isn't a problem - I do the same because I keep packages on a drive other than the one on which Daz/IM is installed.

So if i wanted to do a fresh install, onto a different drive..can i just copy/paste the old downloads collection into the new directory?

C://Users/Public/Public Documents/DAZ 3D/Install Manager/Downloads..into this one?

nope, this doesn't work because the dim files have to be in the database. This would work with the content in your "Content" or "My Library" folder though.
