Daz Studio 4.15 + RTX 3090 not compatible?

I know the 3090's require a quite good power supply because they have a tendency to peak in power usage. And several tech youtubers had some problems with instability if the power supply used not as amazing components (If I remember right).

Also you could use a software to fully uninstall the drivers (unlike the normal uninstaller by Nvidia) I think I used DDU for that but I'm not entirely sure about the program's name (I did it based on a video by Jaz's2Cents).

And when you said every driver under the sun did that include the studio drivers? It supposedly works better with Daz.

I have a single 3090 with Daz 4.15.0.2 and GeForce Game driver 460.79; Iray preview/rendering working ok using either a single character with transparent background or a large scene. Could try a demo scene if you have one with default characters to see if it produces the same errors or not?

It's not only in the preview but also during the rendering. And yes, I also tried the DDU uninstaller and it didn't help as well.
And it even happens with only one physical GPU, so it shouldn't be a power problem.
I opened a discussion on DS forum:
Maybe there's someone who can help. But I don't think so. I think it's rather a problem with the compatibility of DS/Iray and the 3090! Maybe there are some weaker 3090 who work better. I got the 2nd powerful 3090 on the market. This could also be a problem for DS at the moment.

A quick look through the log file.

I have Intel i9-10900, you have a AMD Ryzen Threadripper 1920X. I have Octane installed, couldn't see it in your log.

My GPU is Gigabyte RTX 3090 Gaming OC 24G

Because I always rendered with Iray until now. Never used Octane and also don't know how it works.

I installed Octane, but not used it. Prefer Iray at the moment until I get time to look into Octane.

You were asking to compare settings, that's the only reason I mentioned it.

Im expiriencing a similar error with my GFX1080TI

I've started to suspect my 550watt power supply is insufficient, because when i game highend games, i easily get graphic errors and when i render i get the error msg you see in the spoiler. But using Afterburner, i can lower the power usage to 80% and get the games to work, but sadly not my renders. Which is extremely annoying, because it fallbacks to my cpu (without fallback, the render just cancels) and my renders takes about 10 times as long.

My MSI Ventus 3090 OC now renders without crash after I reverted my i5-3570k overclock to stock. I have not stress tested Iray Preview because my CPU/memory is now the bottleneck but I've been rendering without a single crash in three days whereas it crashes about every few hours before. So I am now 90% convinced there is something strange going on with how Daz 4.15 manages CPU/DRAM (mainly DRAM). It's not PSU because half of my crashes were not power related but BSOD where Windows 10 had to clear memory. My old 980 hardly ever crashed in Daz with heavily overclocked CPU and when it did it was caused by some funky assets.

Are you using custom settings for the CPU/DRAM?

if you still having this problem I would suggest that try to uninstall the driver and re-install the driver

use ddu uninstaller

I dont know F95's necro policy but -- Did you ever get this to work ?
I just upgraded from 3080 10G to 3090TI for that extra vram space - but I have been having render crash since installation. Tried all the suggestions I could find mentioned -- the last one is GPU replacement because 1 person replied saying that resolved the issue. So I am trying that last.

Any update ?

again sorry for the necro.

I had to go into the render settings -> Advanced tab and make sure CPU was unchecked, once I did that I had happy rendering as long as I don't watch any videos or play games while it renders my crashes were eliminated.
I also use the Nvidia studio drivers.

I've got a 3090 and it works fine with 4.15 and 4.20. I'm only running a 650W PSU so I cap the power max of the 3090 at 350W to be safe.

Messing with Nvidia driver versions would be the first thing I would try.
