Hello folks,

I hope that somebody had and resolved this issue, but sometimes my Daz have some really weird behaviour like texture shading won't work, no icons displayed...
metal looking model etc... like in those pictures:
Display problem.jpg Texture shaded problems.jpg

Did someone already encounter a problem like this?

Thanks.

A bigger issue might be that the 'navigation' options in your viewport have reverted to white boxes...

My guess is that the Daz render engine is crunching away at trying to display something in Iray. Computing Iray renders can take a while sometimes. Do the textures appear eventually (say after several minutes)? This can also happen (delayed rendering) under texture shaded as well, but generally in TS mode, things just don't show up until it's ready to show them. As for the other modes... doesn't look familiar, and I mostly use hidden line/wireframe besides Texture Shaded and Iray. The other viewport modes can be useful depending on the situation of course.

If you don't mind sharing your system specs, mainly what CPU, how much ram, and your graphics card(s), that may or may not be related. If things are slower/lower end hardware wise, or if you don't have enough ram (say less than 8-16 GB of system ram), yeah it can be a struggle.

But yeah, you should have cool navigation icons, not the white boxes, in your viewport. If nothing else, might be a good time to save, quit, then restart Daz Studio to see if that helps.

Thanks, mate, but I solved this issue by right click on the Daz3d and then I choose "Run with graphics processor" and then you click on "High performance NVIDIA processor". (It's like the open with but you open it with the high performance thing).

I just did it and it worked for me... still weird.

Yeah, sometimes Daz is weird that way. It might not hurt to check your preferences as well inside of Daz. There are a few options in there that can improve your viewport experience. As I remember, setting display optimization to best under Preferences/Interface can help. I seem to remember some other settings that can help, but I'm typing on my browsing laptop (not my rendering computer) so I don't have those immediately available. Others can share recommended settings.

If you have a processor with 'decent enough' integrated graphics, and a motherboard with a monitor port, you can use the integrated graphics to run the Daz viewport, freeing up your graphics card entirely for rendering, but you'd need to connect your monitor to the motherboard port and not the Nvidia card if this is an option for you. My rendering system currently has a Ryzen 2400G with integrated Vega 11 graphics, that I use to drive my 4K monitor, and I have a 1080 Ti currently that isn't connected to any monitors/isn't used by the system otherwise. My graphics viewport is quite snappy with this setup (although you still have to wait on the Nvidia card to see Iray in the viewport), and might be worth looking into if your system has interated graphics, or maybe if you have an extra video card laying around and an extra PCIe slot in your system to utilize it...

I have only a Laptop with 32GRAM 1T SSD and Nvidia GTX 1050Ti (not the best but well still can render some good pictures)

What processor does your laptop have? I'm curious to see if it has integrated graphics in the processor. Sometimes laptops will come with both, with the integrated graphics disabled. My MSI had an Intel processor with integrated graphics, along with the Nvidia graphics, but unfortunately MSI locked out the IGP in the bios so I couldn't take advantage of this. Other laptop brands could have this as an option though... might be worth checking out at least.

Intel i7-8750, I never knew I will use 3D graphics one day... Maybe I will build a good desktop for 3D, but for now. I haven't enough money for that

@ Spirox
the i7-8750 comes with integrated graphics, so once you get the hang of Daz, it might be worth checking into your system and bios options to see if you can access the integrated graphics in the processor. You'd need to set your system to use the integrated GPU instead of the Nvidia one to drive your monitor.

Note that the performance improvement in the Daz viewport is just a smoother experience (and not a requirement) when you do this, but that you can do just fine using your Nvidia graphics in the meantime. My 'learning system' for Daz was a laptop with AMD integrated graphics, and no other onboard graphics. It was significantly slower, sure, but I was still able to get the job done... I worked with Daz for about 6 months on that laptop, until upgrading to a better system became an option for me budget wise...

There are a few things you can do to cut down on your render times (such as rendering the characters separately from the backgrounds, reducing texure sizes, etc.) but one thing at a time.
