All Ren'py VN that look like slideshows, no idea how people enjoy playing these tbh
You ned to learn english and start reading storylines :ROFLMAO:

But jokes aside VN's are really great competition for grinders these days.
I bet most proficient devs reached the same conclusion and switched for VN instead making of grinders.

Is it just me, or has the hentai game industry really fallen off lately? I remember back a few years ago you could find some decent games every few weeks or so, game updates left and right and an overall decent quality.

What happened? Right now games take MONTHS to get any meaningful updates, 90% of the games that come out are complete garbage filled with static images either done badly or AI generated, shitty gameplay and abandoned tags. I've been following many games that I'd like to see completed yet updates take a very long time, most good developers simply just quit before even finishing their product.

I check in almost daily for some good quality games, or hell even average ones but most of the releases are complete garbage.

So I guess this is both a discussion on this topic, but also a question for you all:

What was the last good game that released for you? And by good I mean that has decent animated artworks, MAYBE voice acting, and a non-shitty gameplay (fuck off Visual Novels)
I'm curious: which developers do you support?

Pitching in, the age of Flash was the high note for me, with all the slop from Newgrounds to SFW sites to more esoteric ones. That is, being part of the the community, around the slop was fun in of itself. The forums were bustling with new creators, discussion and random chitchat which brought everyone together.
Everything feels fragmented nowadays, even more so with H communities.

I just wanna say, my man Doorknob22 here just cut to the core of OP like a hot, sharp knife through warm butter.

I'm going to say a triggering word - 'entitled'.

OP is literally sitting on a website with gigabytes of content crammed down his throat non-stop, for literally nothing. Games (and don't forget animations) made from the effort and ingenuity of people creating their own stories and visions (don't get me wrong the quality wildly differs, I am not claiming that 100% of them are worth a damn) that he literally has zero input in or performs any level of support for.

When you're sitting there complaining the free ride you're enjoying isn't in the make and model of the car you like, maybe you need to take a big step back.

People are being trained to just expect instant gratification, cheap dopamine, then get shaken when the high ends and they wake up later - older, fatter, and still depressed, wondering why the rush isn't like it was in the beginning.

As a challenge, why not try to create your own game? Why not try and write a story, create characters, make it compelling, then put together pictures and animations, code it up and put it out there? (Just for some chronically online gooner to start shitting on everything you've done because the quality is dogshit).

It'll get your mind off complaining about everyone else, and perhaps you might learn a few things along the way. Try and create something that would break through your perceived level of "decent". Make what you want to see. Then not only that, continue to perform and release content every goddamn month or two.

You might even succeed. You could fucking succeed and show everyone what 'decent' really is.

Support as in money? Well as far as subscriptions go then:
KAIRI SOFT
Random Crow
Enlit3d
Moeymoey
Toffisama
Megablueball
NubeeDev
And the list goes on, some of these I've pledged for a while, some are still active.

There's also the ones that I've paid for once or straight up bought the game but I think your comment was a jab that tried to make me look like a loser that doesn't support what they like so I'll stop here.

That's a lot of psychological evaluation coming from someone that has zero clue on who I am and with the very little information you've gotten out of my post. Needless to say you're 90% wrong but I'm not gonna bother correcting you, I'll only say my "ride" isn't free and I do support developers I like.

It is not JUST you. However, the people who join you in this assumption have a similar background with playing adult games that you have:

Normally, they've played many over the years. At first they were intrigued by the games and all the variety. Then as time wore on, they began to see the repeated tropes, character designs, cliches, etc and then they started wondering "what happened to all those good games back when?"

Bottom line is your tolerance has increased - not like a junky needing more and more in order to get the same high. Or an alcoholic needing to keep drinking in order to "feel normal." And so forth.

Really, not much in the industry has changed except the technology and the number of games that has grown over the years. I mean - in 2024, alone, about 4,000 games were added to F95's listings (1/5th of all the games listed here). That's more than 10 per day ADDED... not updated. ADDED. Then there are the updates of the many games on this site. You're telling us with all that - there's a drought of decent games? There ain't a drought - you just are used to be soaking wet that even in a downpour you can't tell the difference.

I mean, I don't care about repeated tropes or character designs, even if I had a sidescroller every month or so I'd be happy with it, I don't need innovation at all. But I get what you mean, surely I'm a little addicted and that fogs up judgment a bit but you can't tell me on a specific tag like sidescroller that the newest games are good by any means (I mean there's good ones for sure but most are trash)
