Decreasing Incest

Hey everyone,

Is it just me or the number of incest themed games are decreasing comparing to before. For example when I see a game in ''New Updates'' I think like ''This would be incest themed usually but it's not, interesting'' What I mean is, game looks like a classic incest but there is no tag about it anymore. I thought it can be about Patreon's rules getting more strict maybe? I don't know exactly. If you know please explain the reason or your thoughts about the topic.

Oversaturation.

We had a lot of incest games so they dont stand out anymore.
Likewise we had a lot of rape games.

Now gay and female protaganist are populair for those who want to stand out.

There is also the fact there is only so many stories you can tell with incest.

How many different ways can you corrupt a family into becoming your harem?
Same problem with loli or rape games.
You can only do so many stories before you already did everything.

I personaly believe female protaganist and get is currently on the rise due to:
1: Female point of view is something new.
2: Gays are an untapped market.

It is just bussiness.
They will be back to incest rape loli games when that is proffitable again.

And before you say this is a pirate site.
Yes it is.
Pirate steal stuff they dont make them.
The dev's who make these games are 9 out of 10 times looking to make money.
Compeeting with the likes of corrupted kingdoms, lab rats, or free cities is hard.

there hasn't really been that many of them in years. at least not ones that survive past v0.3

often though it's just a matter of missing the patch. not having the tag hasn't meant much after the patreon crackdown because almost everything is meant to be played with a patch.

People used to make incest games called "family funtimes exdee", get patreon demonetized which led them to change relationships to landwhale or something instead of mom.
Now everyone knows patreon censorship and design game around that, successful self-censorship effort.

is there really any competition though? I mean I'll gladly consume anything I can get my hands on, and there are typically months of waiting before updates. it's not like any of us become exclusive with a game and play nothing else while it's unfinished.

if anything I'd expect every game in the same genre increasing both visibility and traffic for their 'rivals'. people keep asking for "other games like X" and talking about them in threads. it's all free advertizing.

Patreon rules.

There is an increase in games with a guy living with an older woman and a girl or girls around the same age, in a set up that only makes sense if they're family and remove the parts where he pervs on them and they get on like a fictional family, over caring mom, bratty sister.

We should call it diet incest.

Games get incest tag even when you can name the relationships or there is a patch for it. But even those are getting rare comparing to before. That's what I noticed.

It seemed to me the most logical reason.
Every single creator wants to stand out.
Nobody likes to hear there creation are a clone of xxx.
No matter how good xxx is.

I never claimed it was logical.
Just that i assume that like corperations these dev's have an competaton going.
Even if for no other reason then ego.

Meaby i am wrong.
All i know is that creators tent to have moonsized ego's.
So i woudnt put it past them as simple trying to creating something new.

As a fan of incest I strangely don't really mind a decline of incest in games.
Most of them are incest games in name only anyway, because in most games the relationships of those so-called family members feel more like those of unpatched versions: landlady and roommate or at least more distand relatives like aunt and cousin.

After all, it's one of those tags that many devs toss into their games just to get more players without care for the kink itself. It's not easy to find good or even somewhat decent incest in games.

it's not unheard of, but I don't think the general reason is tag exploitation. I think they're just bad at writing, they don't understand that their job is to portray some inner turmoil, hesitation, attraction and guilt in the characters. some humanity.

in a nutshell most of them don't understand feelings. they think it's enough to show pussies and dicks and shoving them together. so the result tends to be this very clinical exchange of robotic characters, like simulating sex between a barbie & a ken doll.

and because in the end the only difference between vanilla and (adult) incest is the inner life of the character, leaving out those emotions defaults it right back to vanilla sex. the 'son' may call the older woman 'mom', but unless you somehow sell it with emotions the names are just empty words. "this is wrong, I'm your mother" is a start, but really it needs that emotion to actually sell it. the mom needs to act like she has a problem with it, not just say it.

And not just the mother, everyone should react quite differently than pretty much every NPC reacts in those games.

I think the main cause of this is Patreon, but also, maybe there is oversaturation? devs are looking for the next gold fetish. Strangely, incest is not covered by many gay games, so there's an opportunity there. I skipped it on my game because, first patreon (and I have my hands full with my game being real porn. it may be closed anytime), and then because I don't feel I can write a decent (or at least readable) incest plot.

I guess interest sort of dying down somewhat. Tbh its one of those genre's that loses its oomph when going for a rather generic and tbh low effort story at times and just ends up having the tag but not much that you want with it.

I agree that some writers are finally learning that you can't just throw a uninspired story together and call it Incest, people are finally starting to get bored of the same old story and the same old concept. Single horny Mom who sees her Sons massive penis, wow it's so big. Bitchy Sister who hates you for no reason, but comes around really easy, and super innocent Sister who loves and adores you, she has zero knowledge about sex, maybe I should be the one to teach her. Please stop with this overused cliché tripe, it's not fun to play anymore. Hopefully writers who actually enjoy the kink of Incest will try and write something unique and fun. Let the writers who have ideas and talent make something us Incest fans can support and enjoy, if that means we get less incest games then that's a win in my book. Sorry for the long read

Incest is my most favourite genre, I didn't care if it was cliché or oversaturated, I just wanted to play games with my fav kink. But after so many years on this site, it finally happened. I got bored of Incest, after so many games reused the same tropes and the same stores the lustre and appeal just faded away. It's sad to say but Incest has become bland and mundane., the same story, the same settings and the same boring, pervy and creepy main characters just make my skin crawl now. Don't get me wrong, every once in awhile we get something special, but most new games with incest just get ignored by me. I'm hoping that now the mist has cleared we actually get writers that care about Incest, and care about great and unique stories, if that means we get less game incest, I say that's it's a good thing.
