Why would you need modded artwork to be an override? That's why Dol+ for example is a self-contained stand alone, so you don't need to do file overrides, you just play DoL+ when you want to use a modded sprite style and play vanilla when you want vanilla.
because i would like to play dol+ goose mysterious with the fire mod but i can't, moreover dol+ gets frequently updated when fire ones does not

Someone is maintaining an unofficial FireMod on the DoL Modding Discord that is supposedly up to 0.5.5.9:

I say "supposedly" because the sidebars don't reflect the current version numbers, but I suppose it could just be an oversight. Includes regular FireMod and also a DoLP merge. The DoLP merge includes a bunch of different folders in "imagepacks" that seem to be intended for people to drop and drop into their img folder to get the graphics they want - at least, I think that's the idea.

I don't really know how DoLP's "integrated image pack mods" are supposed to work on the desktop version of the mod, since they don't seem to be included. Maybe that's just an online-only (dolmods.net) feature for the mod and that's just how it works, I don't know since I don't play DoLP and I've never played any online version of the game.

Interesting, but I have some doubts, seeing as DoL+ isn't updated to 0.5.5.9 itself. Did he do that work himself for both FireMod and Dol+ ?

I think it was a misunderstanding on my own part: while the base FireMod has been updated to 0.5.5.9 (though the maintainer, disturbed, forgot to include a newly compiled .html when they updated from 0.5.5.7 to 0.5.5.9 yesterday, which has now been remedied with a new upload in the MEGA folder I linked after I mentioned it to them), you can see in the attached Discord image in my previous post that they said they'll update the DoLP merge once DoLP itself has been updated. I assumed the 0.5.5.9 message also pertained to the DoLP merge, but it does not - my ignorance of DoLP and not even realizing it hadn't been updated yet showing once more.

I'll post again if I see them finish a DoLP merge once DoLP itself has been updated. I've tested out both and they seem fine, and other people in the official DoL Modding discord also seem to be playing them and think they're fine, so I'm inclined to believe these unofficial builds by disturbed are legitimate and safe.

How can i make the firemod work? In previous versions, a mods tab appeared and you simply organized it, but now it is no longer there. Is it all manual now?

Yeah, I miss the old modloader too... Bonus points that you didn't have to run it in your browser and it was just its own distinct executable. Don't know if it was too difficult for fire to maintain or what, but it was cool while it lasted. The firemod graphics are now integrated by default, and you can shove other graphical mods and overwrite into the img directory.

definitely, I'm just discovering the mods that there are and here in the forum I saw a very good combo, which is the DOLplus + mysterious, is it possible to use them together with the Firemod?

Just curious why the size is larger compared to the original.

Both archives include the whole build environment for creating the final playable .html file, which inflates the size of the folder, plus the FireMod DoLP archive includes a bunch of different graphic packs in the imgpack folder - don't extract them if you don't want them. If you want to delete all the extra cruft, you can just delete everything that isn't the img folder and the .html file:

...this and everything works fine.

Somehow, no matter how many times I go over this, I can't tell what it does. I don't usually have this hard a time grasping a mod and it's concept, but this one, especially in relation to other mods, is REALLY knocking my brain around some reason. I get it has to do with the games art/graphics, but what changes with just this mod alone, and other graphic mods, what's their compatibility with this? Do those not overwrite this?
