I found out how to complete the blacksmith quest from a conversation on the dev discord. I quote from the person ” U have to talk to the researcher and then go find the dungeon It is located in the orc infested area at the right at the side of a pillar. U have to interact with it and then the rest is self explanatory" I'm not sure if the bug has been fixed or not because many players also complained about trouble completing the quest.
