VN - Ren'Py - Completed - Depraved Awakening [v1.0] [PhillyGames]

A crime story with a former policeman now Private Eye as the protagonist, that can only be good, right?
How much I was deceived by the many good reviews.
This game is wrongly accused of being an interesting and well thought-out detective story. Instead, it's just a glorified teenage wet dream ..

I looked in vain for character development or passion and the story was boring, although the premise was actually promising.
Probably what bothered me most was the loveless and very forced relationship between the protagonist and his stepdaughter.
The MC was just a drooling lecher and Judy an emotionless doll, no love neither emotionally nor sexually ...
I am rather averse to father daughter fetish and would have liked to be able to choose a normal loving relationship that is based on trust and not on sexuality.

Perhaps one or the other might think that I am a little harsh or irrational, but the feelings I experience while reading are more important to me than visual stimuli alone. Without a good story and character development, I can't rate a visual novel as average. 2 points for idea, music and visualization.

Great game!

- Good story! It's a little short compared to other games, but I think it fits well with the narrative.

- The sex scenes are very hot, the animation could be a little better.

- Some girls are beautiful and well made (Judy, Christina, Mid-do and Stella), but the others are weird. They are too white and less realistic.

- I recommend playing with the walkthrough mod, it will lead to the best scenes, including the amazing threesome bonus at the end.

The MC is a bit of an asshole and even though there's something of an explanation for it later it still grates on me. Overall I just couldn't get into the writing. It's hard to connect to the characters. The models are okay though.

My review for Depraved Awakening v1.0

It's a great game that is driven by a titillating, action and sex filled story that is accompanied by great graphics and animations. The women and sex scenes are hot. Each characters are well made and presented to fulfill their specific roles in the story. The way that the player's choices affect the story is also great. This is definitely one of my favorite games and obviously one of the best out there.

The models are beautiful. The story is great and engaging. The animations are great. Lighting set the mood like an old mystery movie. The game performance is great and I got no glitches or other unwanted issues.

Overall great game!

Plenty of content, great renders, good story, different kinks. What else could we ask for? It's no wonder that this is one of the best rated games on f95 right now.

A really enjoyable ride. TBH even though I've read plenty of AVN I was a little disappointed that I never actually found 1 that aligned with my 'specific' fetish so I'm really glad I found this. This is exactly what I was looking for. The sex is the best part no it was just 'Fan-fucking-tastic'.The MC was a cool dude(may be a lil toooo perverted at 1st) & all the girls were really good too my fav being Carla & Judy. The story was actually way better than I anticipated especially with a few good plot twists. Character models were gorgeous & sex animations were smooth as fuck(I loved it)

Enticing Storyline, unexpected turn of events combined with a mystery solving quest. Great endings (each has its own meaning). It's just PERFECT.
And ABOUT OTHER THINGS:
Amazing models, 10/10 Animations and there isn't one Scene that doesn't impress me(one of the things that I look forward to most in a game)

I can definitely understand why people would give this game 5 stars., but for me for some reason, I just didn't get into it the way I thought it would. The renders are great, there is a girl for nearly everyone's tastes, and the story is interesting. The game deserves the praise, but in the end, I just have to say it wasn't for me.

If you like detective stories then the game is great. Otherwise it doesn't really land anything else. There is a mostly linear story with a few diverging points, with decent art but nothing too impressive. Not much in terms of gameplay.

The game is however from 2018, so I expect this was a great jumping point for the creator, and their new games are likely much better.

Doesn't really appeal to me. The build up feels all wrong and rushed. Also the way the MC instantly calls the women sluts in the dirty talk doesn't really do it for me. Plenty of people appear to like it, so give it a shot and if you don't like it initially, for the reasons I brought up, you most likely won't change your mind if you push through either.

Amazing game, one of the best adult games.
Very good renders, even if not the best ones (I loved Christina or Stella or Mi-Do, but other girls are not so fine), but the story is really well written, it seems to be in a noir movie.
The choices really affect the storyline, there are multiple narrative paths, and you can see the result of your choices in an immediate way by the stats' system.
Some narrative choices are a little weird (the villains are almost stereotipycal), but some other ones are really good (finally a story with a explanation about because many characcters are constantly horny).
Maybe it's a little short (less than a week of play and you can finish it), but it's really worth of the time,
The sex scenes are awesome, particularly the threesomes.
Special mention for the music, really perfect for the atmosphere of the game.
I really hope that the DEV can make other games like this one.

Well the games is among the top of the top....and it's just understandable why...the game creator is the one behind "City of Broken Dreamers" (arguably the best story driven game in the site).

Great game overall. Cool plot, great action scenes. The 3DCG girl models look fantastic and unique for every single one, and each with personality! I'm so glad that i got to experience this and look forward to the dev's future work!

Such a wonderful game and story and nothing else is expected from the wonderful PhillyGames, I immensely enjoyed the City of Broken Dreamers as well, these games/VNs are another level story and graphicwise. Coming back to this game, Thank God it's completed so I could try most of the endings. I would play it again in few months maybe to try other routes.

I find the plot a bit weird at first, but for a detective MC VN it's a bit Kinetic in my opinion.
I was expecting some kind of mini-games or puzzles.
The Renders are damn fine. One of the best of its kind.
I just find the animations a bit lacking something that "The Visit" nailed. Nonetheless, I enjoyed every bit of it.
The lack of 'The Dragon' Content though is killing me I found her character one of the most unexplored on the story, her motivation wasn't well described with only her past being told.
I really hope we could see a sequel of this story that you could choose from one of the endings to continue.
In any case the game is one of my favorites and would certainly recommend for others to try.

This is the first adult game I ever played, and I have to say I couldn't have started with a better one.

There is nothing super unique about the story, but the way it is told certainly is.

The images are top notch even though the game is a littler older, they still stand up.

The journey this game takes you on, all the paths and the twists and the way it can be replayed to achieve different outcomes is very interesting. The girls are fun and it's simply an enjoyable experience.

If you have played this you are indeed missing out.
