Ok, so I'm no computer person, per se, so how the fudge do I use this?!?
Every time I click on it, I see the script, I can't download it as a script file (or .rpy file)

You can right click on the file and use the save link as option. All you need to do is rename it.

I'd rather wait for a working app than doing trail & error. Wrong patches/ mods can break the whole game and I'm not willing to risk it.

in renpy so not much risk there, just make a backup of the file it overwrites and don't make any saves which won't be a problem since you are getting this for a full gallery i assume so you won't be making saves
