I REALLY enjoyed "Cohabitation", though it took me probably 10 playthroughs to figure out the process. (This was the 1st "adult" game I played, on gamcore) "Staying with Aunt Katie" is another well done game while "MoH" and "The Headmaster" are both equally superb. "Personal Assistant" I like the girl quite alot and same goes for "Room for Rent", though I much dislike the unforgiving coding of the latter.

So, what would my ideal game be, and by extension I am asking what YOUR ideal game would be:

I like the "stats" in games. Slow builds where you are out to achieve a desired end. But don't hide the stats from us. We as players need to know if we are on the right track. And before anyone says "you don't have stats monitors IRL"...I'm also not out to bang my sister IRL so...

Give me the 4 bedroom apt in MoH. Take Mom and daughter from "My Sweet Neighbors" and the youngest daughter from "Parental Love" for the 3 ladies in the apt. The the 1st girl from "Room for Rent" along with the girl from "Personal Assistant" as college roommates in an apt across the hall. Amy from "Headmaster" to run the gym, Rachel to run the pizzeria (and write her into the game) and since 4 bedroom apts would not be cheap, maybe all 4 of those girls room together in the same building as the MC and his "family". Then top it all off with excellent writing like I found in "Haleys Story".

Slow build sandbox, with multiple options to be pursued or not.

That's a tough one. I'd say 2D Metroidvania'd be the best game style. Make it fun to move around, fluid fighting, quick pace, none of that beat up one enemy for a minute straight shit. Female protagonist for sure. Should have H-Attacks used both by and against the protag. Either no game-over based stuff or just unlock it when you beat an area boss. Sex scenes should be used as rewards.

As for content, uncensored, with plenty of monsters. Tentacles, giant spiders, slimes, whatever. Yuri and mechanical traps are good too. No dudes or futa though, that's a turnoff for me. Plenty of other fetishes you could slip in and I'd be happy, but those are the main points.

I hate games with stats, sandbox elements, combat systems, or grind of any kind and will only begrudgingly play them if they contain rare content I'm into. I prefer straight-up visual novels where the only gameplay is making choices.

I enjoy almost everything as long as it is well made.

But if we use the scenario, "If you can only pick one game to play forever, what would it be?" In this context my ideal game would be a really well made life simulator game that is fully customizable. A well made customizable life simulator game like an "Adult" version of The Sims would figuratively have endless replay-ability.

I know there are sex mods for Sims 3 and 4, but the art style of those games isn't my cup of tea. I would love to see a full "Sims" game but with the art style of NTL Media.(Lust Epidemic, Treasures of Nadia, etc)

This thread is being added to the General Game Development Process or Interest section of the Game Development Megathread along side the half dozen or so other threads asking what people's ideal game would be.

What I enjoy most in games is complex generative or procedural games. Particularly in sex-based adult games. Process of seduction. Process of forming relationships. Processes of taking care of characters. Processes of reproduction. Generally this lends to a kind of virtual doll house.

A Dwarf Fortress or Minecraft like with better graphics and way better UX. I very much ascribe to the Portal school of game narratives which is less is better and the narrative needs to stay out of the way of the game.

Just a VN focused on few characters. Some form of you are a young boy and you somehow you run into a lonely girl who has no one. It could be its a apocalypse and she lost everyone, could be even your sister or just something else entirely. Early on she is super shy and doesn't even want to come with you, but you don't give up and want to protect her. And very slowly you both get closer and she starts to like you.

If its only 2 persons it would be very hart to write and it could get boring quickly if the writing isn't good. I love it when devs focus on 2-3 characters instead of 3456, if you have to many characters you really can't tell a great story of relationship development between characters. I always try to pick one Girl in VNs and stay loyal to her, but thats often times not even possible.

Slow burn games with a focus on story, character development, and relationships. I want to actually feel like I know the MC and the love interests. No sandbox/free roam, tell me a story, give me choices to make and not just who I fuck or in what position. Spoil me with choices (think Bioware dialogue choices but not the shitty ending to Mass Effect 3) and focus on a handful of characters.

As to setting I prefer slice of life type of games but stay away from the college aged and college set games. There are too many of those and there is very little that hasn't been done at this point.

A well written VN with great renders and the ability to make impactful choices about believable characters and relationships essentially.

I prefer games which are more dynamic than scripted manually. Like, if the story and sex are just following a linear path, then I'm not sure I'd even consider it a game. Though I do get that we're not at the point where we can procedurally generate every type of content to the same quality as linear manually created content. Anyway, what I would want in a game is that the sexual state (i.e. current and overall behavior and preferences) of the MC (and maybe other characters) is coded such that it changes dynamically and meaningfully as the MC interacts sexually with the environment. And if there are game systems not related to sex, like combat or whatever, those should have significant interplay with the sexual mechanics.

NPC don't need to be super deep but they should follow a schedule like Oblivion (or Last Hope if we talk about adult games) and change their clothes and activity because that
Physics should work. Clothes are disappearing in thin air....there are even stripper games like Dreamstripper without stripping animations....X-moon production did a nice experiment about clothes physics
Animations should be good. For example GTA 5 strippers were great for their movements but they there wasn't striptease involved since clothes were just a skin in that game!
Multiple layer for clothes and no clothes clipping....the first is delivered by many games, the clothes clipping happens very often in AAA adult games too.
Stats should help player but not having enough stats shouldn't be automatic failure. A silly example, you need to seduce a girl and you have 1 stat, then you have to choose the right dialogue options among 10 three time in row while a character with 10 charm stat has 3 options and only need two success. This way it simulate how the charmer has less difficulty to choose the right words (3 options instead of 10) and can deliver them better (2 success needed instead of 3).

im into sandboxes (just caz I qualify such as games) and mainly interested in
(a)either build-in hint systems (like in MotH, summertime saga) ...or some build-in walkthrough (similar to Maim Lain modes). or even more apparent schedules / timetables / comments on whom&when to visit and what to answer (say, constantly displayed in the bottom or the corner of a game screen). otherwise the amount of grind and-or confusion may overweight the desire to progress further and kill all the fun. (there are some npc tracking systems like in BB, MotH, cure my addiction, the tyrant - to see who is where, but i wish some intel on what and why to do with them was somewhere nearby and without closing/fading the main screen)
(b)reducing the grind... and-or having no obligatory repeatable actions. imo nothing should be performed 2+ times for the sake of progressing/unlocking something. so repeatable actions would be ok but only for closing some achievement (irrelevant to main story progress) or some voluntary interaction (like if that triggers some sex scenes you want to replay)
(c)being able to skip the scenes u already saw (i think i cannot do that in chloe18 games for example. u need to use enter-space-etc buttons to manually skip some inner thoughts or dialogues during repeated scene and ofc it is annoying)
(d)build-in cheats for some cash, stats and goodies is always a plus. if ppl want to do it in a hardcore way - their right, just give me an opportunity to avoid some complexities.
(e)being able to change choices or go 1hour back.
also, rpgm is a no-no as it makes things slow.

for VNs...cannot really comment as outside of my expertise. i did finished some, but it was mostly skipping to the point of turning a VN to a comics made of only sex scenes.
though i could say that i liked GGGB
(i) i could follow the story despite my skipping. (and i opted to read here and there)
(ii)i could see how my choices affected the story development. (given that skipping was still quite heavy)
i assume that is because the opportunities to choose options-answers poped-up quite frequently compared to most VNs. plus pictures sequence may give me enough clues. so in this case i felt kinda immersed into a story
(iii) plus, no gameovers and mostly intuitively clear what options to choose (so no need to keep some pdf file open and be distracted)
(iv)slutting out some fem mc was entertaining enough story. id opt out for something more darker though... forced / corruption*
*havenot tested much VNs but havenot found anything similarly appealing either... something like Elena'sLife felt like tier ii; Lily, Anna - tier iii . all renpy remakes ofc. maybe because such are rather long novels. so even if i tried not to skip much at the beginning...i end up thinking about when will it end and skipping constantly both text and sex scenes (which started to appear as repetitive and i lost interest quite fast)
(v)realistic 2d pics with no loops worked fine. (i wonder if there are some tools to make such pics from RL pics) ...

There is no such thing as an ideal game.
It change's with the mood.

However my prefered kind of games are useally:
Management, incest, loli, rape, mind control, etc.

It is all about power.
My biggest issu with games like free city for example is that the people feel meaningless.
They have no mind to twist, no personality to corrupt, no look of there own.
There is nothing for me to conquer, to twist into my perverted plaything.

A game is all about that rush of victory, The feeling of power.

One of the reason lab rats 1 and 2 are among my most favorite games is because:
1: Good characters.
2: Releastic reluctiance to incest or rape.
3: Between the clothing, personality traits and serums i feel like i can twist people in just the right way.
4: Male dominance. My main fetish. All other fetishes are there to enhance my desire to control woman.

So simply put my "ideal" game would focus on my twisting and turning mothers into tools to corrupt there daughters into my fucktoys.

No game can give me what i want.
All of them have limits(Curse of reality really. Everything has limits. Anoying but good for keeping order limts)

For example platter has great characters but limited gameplay.
Where free cities has the exact opeside problem.

So depending on the mood i either just want a quick conquest or a long drawn out conquest.
What doesnt change is my desire to conquer.
Part of what makes slave games so boring is that i can just buy a woman.
It isnt fun if i didnt conquer her.
If i can just buy a woman it feels unearned.
Same reason i never hire whore's.
If i have to pay for her i feel like she is worthless to me.
A cheap toy to use rather then something i earned throught the blood, sweat and tears of my victems.

My ideal game....

- a game with an actual romance that has a proper build-up, doesn't make use of overused tropes or the patented sexual progression route (handjob, blowjob etc. - you know it, you have seen it a bazillion times)
- a game that has zero forced kinks
- no sandbox
- no grind
- a game that doesn't turn love interests into bi-curious sharing / group sex fanatics without an option to avoid that completely from the get go
- a game that either has a single love interest or has a solo route that still has enough content and won't punish you for picking just one woman
- the game has a well written story with good grammar and few (or no) typos, that story doesn't need to be about saving the world or becoming a top dog in the Mafia etc, it can also be slice of life, where the romance is the central plot, if there is a main plot it should not be entirely separated from the romance, the two things should be interwoven
- the MC should be visible, the face should not be hidden, so the game can show emotions/reactions
- characters shouldn't just be toys or Pokemon you collect in your harem - even a harem can have interesting characters (Now & Then is a perfect example here)
- finally: a game that is either completed or receives regular and frequent updates made by a dev who is 100% dedicated to finishing it and who won't milk the audience by introducing silly side plots, unneeded side characters or who won't pad content just to keep things going past their expiration date

I pretty much have to agree with everything geralt said though, I think sandbox can work if it's done tactfully. The last point geralt made is especially poignant, there are a lot of games that don't have a clear endgame or complete vision and don't get finished and tbh I think I speak for a lot of people in saying Milfy City was pretty much my ideal game and thats why it being indefinitely postponed hurt a lot.

-Lot of good characters that for a porn game are somewhat believable.
-Sandbox that isn't over bearing and has repeatable events that justify being sandbox in the first place
-Good variety in females but bodies tend to lean to an amazon build
-No controversial content/tags
-Intergalactic quality renders
-Good animations
-Doesn't beat you over the head with variables and choices and decisions, not to say I don't want any at all, but I don't like landmines or navigating minefields/basically requiring a walkthrough. The choices should enhance the experience.
-This is a gripe but I'd prefer the mc not having a super dick, it looks silly when it's so big the characters faces are broken during oral.



I think something like Red Lucy could shape up to be an all time great as it has almost all these things (no sandbox) but time will tell.

My ideal game is one that will never be made.

1. You get to select the sex/gender of the protagonist. For simplicity's sake, it would be limited to male, female, trans (man), and trans (woman). It would be tempting to add the option to choose their age, but people who care about narrative would, no doubt, have trouble accepting it if age and action don't line up.

2. You get to name each character that the protagonist fucks as well as select their sex/gender, even if they're family members. This can happen both as they're met and pre-emtively in the options/preferences menu. You also get to choose which personal pronouns they use via a selection screen with an Other option that will allow you to type out any words that are missing.

3. You can customize the appearance of both the main character and partners with adjustable features. This includes templates for various body types (and I don't mean just skinny, muscular, and fat, either--if we want to make a short and squat 5'3" woman, then we can). Features like height and hips, as well as the usual, will also be available. This can happen both as they're met and pre-emtively in the options/preferences menu.

4. You get to select between purity, corruption, and "I'll decide as I go" at the beginning of the game and can change your mind at any time through an in-game menu.

5. You can decide what any given character wears at any time via an in-game menu. The options can be limited (casual, formal, job [in both normal and slutty version], fetish, or nude) or obtained via a dress up doll screen with outfits that can be named and saved. If the former, then a preview model can be placed by the side of the selectable options by hovering over your selection. If the latter, then there will be plenty of varieties of everything from clothing to jewelry to piercings (and the piercings can be placed in designated areas). Clothing for the latter won't be restricted by sex/gender--if you want a man in pantyhose or a girl in a suit and tie, then you can. Additional items like glasses, beards, and whatnot, will also be available.

6. You can decide which tattoos, scars, moles, and birthmarks a character can have and where they're placed (both protagonist and partners). If a dress up doll screen is used, then they can be decided there. If not, then I have no idea. Tattoos et al, like clothing, can be added, removed, and replaced at any time.

7. If the game has incest, then you're given the option to turn it on or off (and, like the others, you can reverse that decision at any time). Here's the catch: the characters don't stop being relatives; the protagonist just won't have sex with them.

8. The protagonist can have sex with anyone you want them to (minus any restrictions that you impose), allowing you to have scenes between whichever sexes/genders you'll want. If you're a person of simpler tastes, then an option can be made available to play a straight, gay, or bisexual route. This option can be made available in both the in-game menu and the options/preferences menu. If you're a person of complicated tastes, then don't select anything.

9. Sex scenes will be animated well, whether the game is 2D or 3D and you will be able to choose between a multitude of kisses and positions as well as deciding when everybody cums and where. With kisses, you will also be able to decide where on the partner's or the protagonist's body they're placed at any point before, during, and after the sex scene.

10. No grind. If a game has an economy, then the player will be automatically and immediately given an infinite amount of money/resources. If a necessary item for progression is limited to a specific time of day, then we're given the option to go to its location at that point in time both immediately and at our leisure via an in-game menu (say, having the item marked on a map, for example, as we just click on it). If any other mechanic is in place to prioritize narrative over game play, then we're given the appropriate option to override it instantly.

11. Fetishes can be selected from the in-game and options/preferences menu. They can include, but are not limited to: feet, pantyhose, BDSM, pregnancy, boy, girl, alien (humanoid), alien (tentacled), crippled (and you can choose the type of crippling), mind control, and probably a few other obvious ones that I'm forgetting right now. With pregnancy, however, anyone can get pregnant (regardless of gender/sex) and you can decide who does and doesn't. Let's see a baby popping out of a dick! (Don't lie; you're morbidly curious, too.) With mind control, you can decide whether the victim is aware of it, either at the time or later on, or not. If you choose that the victim can be aware during the attack, then you also get to select their emotional state: angry, sad, helpless, et cetera.

12. Kinks for various fetishes will be worked into the sex scenes. For pantyhose, as an example, I go into full detail here.

13. Sex will require no effort to get started, as it won't be tied to the narrative. You can fuck whoever you want with all options immediately available. There will also be an in-game menu for selecting a partner's sex scenes that's accessible at all times. The menu, for example, can have named avatars of all partners that the player selects from to access their scenes.

14. If the game is an open world or sandbox, then we can go everywhere immediately. Travel, of course, will be instantaneous and, if the narrative must interrupt, then it may, but with a Not Now option and an in-game or options/preferences selection to prevent it from disrupting game play in the first place.

15. Nothing within the areas will have you narratively locked out. Puzzle-based solutions, like maybe having a Sudoku on the door that needs to be completed is fine, but certainly not needing to go through multiple steps to find and get a key--that's unacceptable.

16. If the game play/narrative is based on making decisions, then each option will be color coded and a description of each consequence will be noted. If the decision tree turns out to be a tangled mess, then an in-game walkthrough will be provided.
