Ren'Py - Desert Stalker [v0.18.3] [Zetan]

Great renders & a really cool story. Def one of the greats of this site. Can't get enough of Ain.. that render is top tier.

The world building & random tertiary characters you meet are just as hot and interesting as the main cast. Lots of good scenes.

The choices can have some consequences which I am a huge fan of.

This is a contender for my favorite game on this site.

This game is amazing. I love the characters, the renders are good, the updates keep coming, and it doesn't take 10 years to complete.

One of the top 10 games on F95Zone IMO.

Everything about the game is good to excellent. It has the perfect blend of story and lewd content. There are plenty of sexy scenes in the game and it doesn't disappoint as an adult game title. I get tired of all the VNs on this site which are 95% story and 5% adult content.

The game isn't a slow burn like many games you'll find. There is no blue balling or constant teasing of sexual encounters which don't occur until late game (or not at all). The characters are memorable with good character progression. The renders are excellent with good animations in the sex scenes.

Complaints

Some of the sex scenes in the game are largely skipped: Kyra & Asha (threesome) and Nadia (first sex encounter). I feel it was a big mistake to skip these scenes.

Some of the animations could be improved (less robotic, more penetration, etc.)

Some of the renders at the beginning of the game are either blotchy or lack detail. This is fixed in later parts of the game.

There isn't much of a buildup or preface to how relationships work in this game world. For example, the man of the house has the right to have sex with all females living within his house regardless of relationship. You learn this over time but it was a bit shocking at first.

Summary

The game kept me interested and wanting more throughout the entire gameplay experience. The game is a near masterpiece! It has an impressive amount of content considering the low version number!

I highly recommend this game!

One of my favorite aspects of this game is the worldbuilding and characterization. I'll try to avoid sounding like a snob, but I truly do appreciate that the characters are three-dimensional and that the world has actual history and lore. The sex scenes are hotter than other games because the women themselves are hot; they are fiery and strong, but choose to submit willingly in a manner that isn't cringey. Good stuff.

I just finished playing Desert Stalker and I'm totally hooked. It's got one of the best postapocalyptic worlds I've seen in an AVN and it blew me away. The characters look amazing. The soundscape is perfect and the visuals are top notch, especially with regard to the lewd scenes!

A decent post-apocalyptic VN

The story is decent, with an interesting minor twist in some parts. The music helps a lot with the atmosphere. The animations are rare but decent, and as a whole, the sex scenes are lewd enough for my taste. Hot characters. Nice fetishes. Decent English not something amazing, but not bad.

Version reviewed: [v0.12b]

I can't believe I waited so long to try this game. Admittedly, I felt somewhat discouraged by the version number, which if we were talking about any other VN on this site would probably equate to half an hour of playing time.

Thankfully though, I decided to take the plunge and found out that the amount of content isn't the only thing that sets this game apart from the rest. This is, in fact, the best game on this site hands down, as far as I'm concerned. From the setting, which is something that is often so difficult to get right with this set of tools, to the world-building and characters, everything about Desert Stalker hooked me in and seems crafted with genuine passion and dedication.

There's no reason for me to go into details, I wouldn't add anything new to what's already been extensively said in the other 5 star reviews prior to mine (which also happens to be my first, and only 5 star rating I ever left). In fact, my intention with this one was mainly to confirm to other disgruntled users of this site, who like myself may have been baited way too many times and are now wary of the stellar ratings that most of those top listed games get, that Desert Stalker is one of the sadly exceedingly rare cases where this rating is absolutely, perfectly justified. The only minor, and very unusual complaint on my part, is that the smut scenes could perhaps stand to be a little longer and more varied, regardless of where the MC stands on the morality spectrum.

Other than that, godspeed to the dev. This is something special.

Desert Stalker Review
After playing through it a couple of times to see how my destiny changes if make a different choice , I feel like writing a review of this amazing game.
If you haven't already, try playing it, you're in for a treat!
I will be reviewing the game in the three following sections:
1) The content
The writing in this game is amazing. What especially impressed me was the whole lore, and the possibilities to influence Zaton's (the MC's) behaviour and overall personality. The writing is great, it is very imaginative and dark, which I really like. The setting is quite dusky, with some really macabre elements, but I feel like it fits perfectly well with the topic - living in the post-apocalyptic Egypt.
2) The visuals
The renders in this game are high-quality, although I would like there to be more animations (and that they look less robotic), but they get better as the game progresses. There are a bunch of female characters, and the MC can basically get any woman he wants, which makes this game very rich in terms of sexual content and lewd scenes.
3) The playability
I have played this game a couple of times from the beginning, only choosing different options. This game is decision-driven, and you can get multiple endings. I especially liked the feature in the game where you can actually decide what you will say - I have never seen this before in a game. At the end of the day, this is one of the most engaging games I've played. Can't wait for another update.

Wow. The animations, cinematography or graphics in general, the writing, the characters - stunning. I've never shed tears because of an adult game before but here I am.
I have yet to finish the game but so far it's great. There are some things I'd like to see more of though, but I'll save that for when I'm done with this version.

One of the best games in the dystopian world variety. The story is unique and addictive. The Lis are all beautiful and with different personalities and body types. Add to that a badass MC who takes no shit from everyone instead of the usual dwarf horny goblin mc makes it a must play.

This game has already a lot of reviews so I wondered if it makes sense to write an another one, but all right, I'll give it a try.

Most people gave it five stars and I fully agree with it. It's one of the best games at this site. It's a great and unique game with original story, plot branches and choices that actually matter, lots of nice, fresh and new graphics and of course lots of pretty ladies.

The story belongs to post-apocalyptical genre. After some nuclear holocaust the earth turned into wasteland and humanity took a step back at least 2 thousand years big, going back into the age of kingdoms, absolute rulers and savage barbarians. Some inspirations like Mad Max films or Fallout games are clear here but the game has some fresh touches like placing the action in Egypt and mixing post-apo with stories about pharaohs, pyramid and mummies. Add some oriental music, some exotic women and you get a story which is reusing existing sfuff but still creating something new and fresh.

The world shown in the game is actually a really cruel and barbaric one. There is a lot of monsters and mutant cannibals and even among "normal" people human life isn't worth much. Make a single bad move or just have a bad day and you'll get sentenced to death, turned into slavery or eaten by mutants.

Our hero belongs fully to this world. Forget wimpy schoolkids from another games trying to have their first sex. Our guy is a true, mature badass. He probably had more women than you had burgers in your life He can beat any guy and make any lass spread legs for him Yet he's not evil or a psycho. Depending on your choices he may be cruel but following some moral code or even forgiving and generous and yet strong and manly.

Still you can kill a lot of people and enforce many women in the game if you wish so. That's some problem for me - the game's brutality. And no, I'm not going personally to attack my neighbor with an axe after playing Desert Stalker But I just hope it won't inspire some lost guy with blurred line between reality and fantasy.

So play Desert Stalker, enjoy the experience but don't try it at home

Desert Stalker has a wonderful premise and a great set up. This is further boosted by delivering on the potential with one of the best world building seen among AVNs. I'm in love with this game in all of it's gory glory. Playing it made me realize how few games feature women with Arab heritage. There needs to be more especially after seeing how beautiful Zahra looks throughout the game. Good background music. Great renders and animations. The lewd scenes are great too.

Overall - 9.5/10. The only thing that it could slightly improve on is fleshing out some LIs who are only used as fuckmeats at this point in the game.

One of the best on here. The writing is really good. The upcoming updated graphics look to really improve things. I like it how things are optional, like optional NTR. The humor in the beginning is also great.

A decent post-apocalyptic fuckscape.

+ Above-average story - at first - but when you hit Shani's adventure much later it almost feels like a new writer was hired who does much better. The plot cranks up a notch, the English is better, and there's actual lore with an interesting minor twist in one part. Most of the plot at the start of the game doesn't carry enough weight to allow for twists.

+ The interface is easy to use and understand, and time only advances when you want it to. I've been getting annoyed with games that advance time all of a sudden without my explicit say-so, and Desert Stalker does a nice job of putting that in the user's control. It also has a few buttons that direct you to immediately sleep with someone while advancing time if you choose.

+ The music and atmosphere is done very well, with the occasional cut scene sprinkled in for dramatic effect.

+ and - Decent lewd scenes. Nothing profound. The usual positions with a healthy side of submission. One spanking scene. Animations are very few. Out of the 30+ sex scenes I believe I counted only 8 or so are animated in some minor way.

+ and - The character models are mostly good, though there's not much variety. Females are either well-endowed or extremely well-endowed. Not much normalcy or for those of us in the itty bitty titty committee.

- The English is odd. It's mostly spelled correctly but the grammar is often wrong, like the game's dialogue was put into a text editor that had a spell check with no grammar check. This occasionally makes the characters sound a little retarded.

In a post-apocalyptic fuckscape I would've expected a lot more violence and debauchery. It's there, but it's only during story scenes. There's not much "filler" for the gaps to really hammer in the state of things. Just walking through the bazaar it all feels like a normal, albeit primitive city. No bounty hunters with a string of trophy ears for a necklace, no slave onaholes fucked in the streets with a line of men and women waiting their turn... would've spiced things up a bit.

Great story and gameplay. Worth it alone for daughter Ain but everything else is brilliant.
Story 5/5 - Sci-Fi dystopian future. Would make a pretty good tv series.
Graphics 5/5 - Girls are stunning
Sex scenes 4/5 - Decent amount but could use more variety.
Sandbox is utilized well without being too repetitive.
Overall one of the best games on this site.
Each update is always highly anticipated.

The setting is interesting, but the models aren't great, the scenes seem more like an afterthought and the protagonist is like a sad mix of every middle-aged action hero. The story has to constantly reinforce that he's the gritty survialist who provides for his family so everyone has to respect him and it ends up making him look insecure.

I get it, everyone's sick of the wishy-washy protagonist but this just feels like a massive overcompensation.

Desert Stalker is an extremely high quality game, compared to others on this site. The worldbuilding, backgrounds, music and areas are all exquisite. The array of characters is excellent, as well as the various quests you play and even the way everything is laid out to you in the journal, the way you progress etc. It services a variety of tags, but the more 'off putting' ones can be safely turned off and ignored. As it is, the world of future Egypt, Zeta, and the people who inhabit it, the main character, his family, the people he meets on his adventures and his interactions with them, all make for a very satisfying, engaging and enjoyable visual novel.

The story itself is complex and has many stand out moments with lots of key characters and factions on their own paths, and at the center of it all, you, and it's damn enjoyable interacting with and seeing what you do with each of them.

Julia very nearly broke my heart. That whole arc was amazingly well put together and was very heavy. Shani and Ain are great, so is Zahra, Queen Merneith is enticing, and so are the others you meet on your journeys. But the girls that stick out to me the most are Yuna, Kyra, Merneith and Ain.

10/10. This game has a long way to go and certainly more greatness to come.

This is the best game I have ever played on this site. The maker has ACTAUL talent. I hope he has a long and fruitful career after this. In fact, this might be the only game I would spend actual money on! The story, the visuals, the choices, it is all just right!
