Ren'Py - Desert Stalker [v0.18.3] [Zetan]

I've seen the post apocalypctic genre tried multiple times, not always succesfully. This game right here however feels like a genuine game. Yes there some pornographic aspects, somehow very focussed in the first part of the game, where the story and the universe is set up. Somewhere along the way, the game changes, the sex scenes and the pornographic aspect of the game change from being the main element to being part of a story being told.
Thanks to that change, I've spent more time reading the story and enjoying the well crafted universe the author has given us than seeking out the most sex scenes possible.

As controversial as it might be, I think that the game could be better if the intro of the game would be rewritten to not be so focussed on all the incest and sex scenes. Why I would say that, is because I almost wanted to share this game with my wife, letting her experience the story, especially the exploration part (I don't want to spoil, those who have played will know which part I'm referring to).

Overall a very enjoyable experience, I'll watch the progress of this game very closely and will consider a few donations along the way if the development continues being as solid as it has been so far.

It's such a unique and original universe in an age when all adult games look alike and are clones of each other. The post-apocalyptic/fantasy universe set in Egypt works so well. And it's so rare to see this in an adult game, the only example I can take is the one that introduced me to this kind of game; Akabur's Princess Trainer. The oriental atmosphere is magnificent. The art is very good. The characters are good. The only thing I could reproach the game for is the lack of length in the sex scenes, but it's not dramatic, it's very well done all the same. I would like to encourage the creator to continue, progress and thank him very much.

A truly well done game. The women are beautiful and so are the cutscenes. Minimal writing mistakes. An excellent story so far. The music actually helps set the atmosphere instead of being background noise. By the time it’s done it’ll probably be somewhere in my top 3 fav porn game, and should at least be in everyone’s top 10, assuming the creator keeps doing what they’re doing. This is definitely one for the books (at least the porn game books).

This. Game. Is. A. BLAST! Holy smokes! One of the best I've ever seen. This could be made even a full grown ass triple A game with more exploring and quests and mechanics.
All the images and animations are TOP quality. Also the plot is interesting, it's not a simple fuckfest like many other games. The plot actually exists!

Amazing! One of the best games I've ever played! I can't recommend it enough. Even though I do not, in general, like the post apocalyptic fantasy...

Fantastic renders, Interesting and a unique story and setting.
The animations are of great quality too, a mix not as common to see combined in one.

The updates are not frequent but they more than make up for that in the quality in both writing and Visuals.

Characters are also unique and interesting not to mention beautiful and well crafted.

The story is inching slowly forward and there are a bit buggy or unclear directions in the playthrough which is usually ironed out later. Story could use a faster pacing to feel like things are moving. Which can be a good strategy for story telling if updates aren't as frequent and you don't have a big team behind you.
It would make the story more engaging but still the current story telling compared to other games in this genre is superior in most if not all aspects.

Hats off to the dev/team for an absolute master piece, a project you don't see just anywhere. I shudder to think such a beautiful project could be abandoned someday for any reason.

i love the game. interesting story and storytelling, and damn beautiful girls. and the gameplay, even if its more sandbox style, isnt useless grinding at all. its fun and you can feel, how the story progresses.

The story is truly remarkable, delving into depths that leave a lasting impact. The balance between the evolution of the story and the inclusion of intimate scenes is executed flawlessly.

This is by far my favorite game on this website!
It has a great story, models, animation and good choices with great results!

I don't know if choices make a big difference in the story but they do get you wildly different scenes, adding some replayability while waiting for an update.

Absolutely amazing game! After replaying it multiple times and following different paths, now I want to say that I just wish I could play it again without knowing everything that happens. It is absolutely thrilling, well-written, the dev wasn't afraid of adding gore and thriller elements.

The WOMEN are gorgeous and sexy. You have a lot of options, which was an absolute top notch element for me. Everywhere you go and everyone you meet will trigger some decision, and you can even sometimes choose what to say.
Playing as this MC was a unique experience because of so many things that can shape his personality and behaviour towards others. You can make him really badass and dominant.

I know I have said it at the beginning but I am going to say it again- THIS GAME IS ABSOLUTELY AMAZING and you should go play it if you haven't already.

great visuals, and world building, decent writing, great characters, decent sex scenes, good story, more potential in this game than any other similar game I have played, wish developer good luck, lots of fun would recommend, 10/10 would masturbate to again.

Absolutely amazing game. In my top two of these games I've ever played. It has a bit of everything but seems to primarily focus on it's story without just putting sex first, which makes for a much better flow.

The animations, details, consequences all seem great so far. 100% recommend it!

Only one thing I'd add is a bigger variety of women, as the majority seem slim with big tits.

Saw this on someone's sig about six weeks ago and decided to download and play. Somehow, I missed the "sandbox" tag (which is usually a "no go" for me after a bad experience), but I guess I should have expected it given the AVN is set in post-apocalyptic Egypt.

By the time I realized the style it had taken on, I was already engrossed and pretty well hooked on it. The renders are outstanding, character expressiveness, character variety, and overall feel of the game is top notch.

Another aspect I love (but also kind of hate...) is the ability to opt into and out of so many different types of content and interactions. I think the WT aspect of the game tries to send you on a complete anti-NTR route, but I like to see the various interactions, and don't mind seeing the funkier aspects of a game that already has "taboo" elements and, after all, this isn't reality - some random dude isn't banging my real-life wife and/or daughter in front of me (and I wouldn't be banging my IRL daughter anyway) - this is just a fantasy world with different rules and social norms. Besides, the scene I just watched, when played in a sharing way, had some down right funny lines that I wouldn't have seen otherwise. Guess I'll be keeping my page 8 "freaky saves" to see how choosing those aspects play out. The "hate" part is that this means I have to make all kinds of different saves and chase off down so many rabbit holes. This may improve for me as I get used to the Dev's style (e.g., it looks like the position of the "max content" choices may be consistent, but still assessing), but it's still going to mean a lot of chasing and many things to keep track of unless I decide to stick to a "keep it simple" route somewhere along the way.

On the negative side, and maybe I'm only experiencing this because I started playing with the V0.12b release, is that there are quite a few primary and side quests to keep track of. It may be that, because I can't see "end of release" markers (or, at least haven't since the end of the prologue), that I am picking up new tasks of a later release before all old tasks available from earlier releases are completed, putting me in the position of juggling multiple quests rather than definitively getting through all of the available tasks as of a certain release end point before starting to pursue a newly added quest. I also wasn't certain how to get out of a particular day's sandbox immediately to try to get back to quests that can't be pursued on the same day. I did figure it out, but I'm also keeping a couple of older save points just in case something does fall off the page (as would happen in the AVN that really gave me a bad taste for sandbox style AVNs).

I'm genuinely impressed by the quality of this game (renders, dialogue, ability to view non-MC scenes happening while MC is elsewhere), but what is most impressive is the way it was able to draw me in so that I didn't immediately hit "delete" when the sandbox screen made its appearance after the prologue days.

Looking forward to getting further into this one - can't really say how far along I am, but I feel like I might be more than a quarter, but less than half way, through 12b. Still waiting to "complete" a quest, though.

Damn entertaining. Good models, story, dialogue, characters. Highly recommended. I haven't finished my first playthrough yet but can tell I'll easily run through one or two more times, as decisions really seem to matter.

Renders and Animations are top notch. Character models are outstanding.

The very Best thing however is the Story, everyone (So far) is very well written, their lines make sense, their relationships are deep for a porn VN and I daresay this could be made into an mini series on late night Cinemax.

It is one of a very few AVN games I have found myself, following the story and not fast forwarding to the next animation.

Your choices have repercussions, storylines open and or are closed to you by decisions you make. Excellent. All the men aren't scum of the earth, but a diverse group struggling to make their way though a wasteland as best they can.

This game makes you care about your family, your wife your kids, even the people you take on to serve your family.

The models of the characters are so attractive, Your wife and daughters are so expressive and amazing. They all have a rich personality all their own.

5 Stars I can't wait to see where this game goes next.

Already a masterpiece, Graphics are so good, the cinematics will make much more better, and music can be good too, but some are somewhat familiar, but all in all, This game is an absolute masterpiece.

Great renders & a really cool story. Def one of the greats of this site. Can't get enough of Ain.. that render is top tier.

The world building & random tertiary characters you meet are just as hot and interesting as the main cast. Lots of good scenes.

The choices can have some consequences which I am a huge fan of.

This game is amazing. I love the characters, the renders are good, the updates keep coming, and it doesn't take 10 years to complete.

One of the top 10 games on F95Zone IMO.

Everything about the game is good to excellent. It has the perfect blend of story and lewd content. There are plenty of sexy scenes in the game and it doesn't disappoint as an adult game title. I get tired of all the VNs on this site which are 95% story and 5% adult content.

The game isn't a slow burn like many games you'll find. There is no blue balling or constant teasing of sexual encounters which don't occur until late game (or not at all). The characters are memorable with good character progression. The renders are excellent with good animations in the sex scenes.

Complaints

Some of the sex scenes in the game are largely skipped: Kyra & Asha (threesome) and Nadia (first sex encounter). I feel it was a big mistake to skip these scenes.

Some of the animations could be improved (less robotic, more penetration, etc.)

Some of the renders at the beginning of the game are either blotchy or lack detail. This is fixed in later parts of the game.

There isn't much of a buildup or preface to how relationships work in this game world. For example, the man of the house has the right to have sex with all females living within his house regardless of relationship. You learn this over time but it was a bit shocking at first.

Summary

The game kept me interested and wanting more throughout the entire gameplay experience. The game is a near masterpiece! It has an impressive amount of content considering the low version number!

I highly recommend this game!
