I guess we're not supposed to do ANY activities when she leaves until the event is over. I'll have to start a new save and try again.
This is interesting—how did you guys manage to pay the rent in the first week? We specifically designed it so you wouldn’t have enough money, ensuring that the other event would trigger properly. The script was written so that the "little girl" would return after the event where you can’t pay the first rent. If you somehow managed to pay it, she wouldn’t come back. If this happened under normal circumstances, it means we miscalculated the amount of money you can earn in the first week. If that’s the case, please let us know, and we’ll address this issue in the next patch.

I didn't even have the option of "I don't have the money." Said it was locked. I got the whole 'no water scene,' then went to look for a job. Got an alleyway scene, did some work at the store, and then just balanced learning with tasks. She never came back and I'm on day 20.

EDIT: I see what I did. I didn't go straight to Ruen's house. I skipped it and went right to the store for the job. Must have soft-locked after all. Might be worth revisiting your code. A possible solution is to more clearly guide players with a built-in 'hints' function to tell them where to go or do to get to the next event. That, or lock players out of al activities until they go to Ruen's house the morning after the alley scene.

Very promising so far! I really like that the puzzles are like... actual puzzles (although I have to admit to not being too great at them and taking more time than I should)

It's not offensive to want to know how someone inadvertently broke your game. To be honest, I'm not 100% sure how I got around it. It was an old save from 0.2 (I think). It didn't have much playtime on it so I started from there. Maybe I did something with it? I'll check.

EDIT: I think I might have used a save editor and forgotten. 1734461433246.png

The save I made last night works fine. Still think the game is a bit grindy with the heavy reliance on stamina, but the game works at least.

I think using an old save from version 0.2 might cause the game to behave a little weird. Save editing should be fine, so feel free to play as you like. I believe the main issue comes from using saves from version 0.2. Sorry for the inconvenience!

Not at all. I've been playing AVNs and RPGM games long enough to know saves from older versions tend to break things. Code and scripts get changed, etc, so scripts the old save relied on no longer exist, etc.
You should see the many ways I've broken my UE5 project.

0.3.1 is unplayable. The game starts on the tenth day. After watching three scenes, it is impossible to enter your room or another floor. It is a dead end. 1734507723786.png

Ah I see, I'm using save editor lol, so the event probably never triggered cuz I'm as rich as Bill Gates there :KEK: :KEK:

Nah, it's good play. Whatever style you like. We’ll think of some way to prevent this, or if you have a suggestion, feel free to share.

From my experience coding normally if a condition should never happen (having enough money to pay the debt) you can sometimes just skip the condition check. If someone has more money than they should (and as such can pay for the bill when they shouldn't) you should just ignore it, either that or add in a small bit of funny text going "hey don't do that :p"

Not an RPGM dev, but if it works the same as other engines, simply not running any kind of checks on how much money the player has for a specific event should be fine. Player simply starts event, and it proceeds like normal. Until the Reun/Uncle events start needing to look at how much money the player has, no need to have said check in place. Or at least have Event1 not have it, and Event2 and onward do.

I think you can give an alert or notification if money variable is more than the rent, like "Damn you are rich, but for the sake of the plot, you cannot used your money this time" or something like a Easter egg if you used cheat like save editor, but the event will be triggered anyway even if the MC has enough money to pay the rent

To troll or not to troll, that is the question.
