Ren'Py - Abandoned - Devil In Your Eyes [v0.05.3] [Graphicus Rex]

I cant help but i didnt like this game. The graphics does not look good (like 5-10 years old). The characters are not really attractive or most of them are not. The story is not really enjoyable and the gameflow is also not one of the best.

As far as overall story and dialogue goes, it's actually rather solid. Took me a little while to understand the gist of the situation but once that was made clear, so were the intentions of the characters.

But.....the renders do be a slight issue. While the renders in and of itself aren't terrible, the faces are severely overmorphed. So much so that it looks like a facial template of different types of emotions if we were trying to teach someone what each emotion was. All the cheekbones are aggressively shown to scrunch up the face and make it like the masks we see in liberal arts. Can be a bit frightening at times. Also, the hair sometimes is an issue as well, specifically with Sheena and Sergio. In one of our few scenes with Sheena, her hair looks more like wire threading instead of something natural. With Sergio, his hair looked more like he was wearing a translucent sparkly shampoo.

As for animation, the dev clearly has the chops to pull it off. The few we do get are incredibly smooth and fluid. Problem is dev only chooses to show 5 seconds of it and with almost zero transitions before and after that sometimes you don't even know something happened (i.e. - Dirty talk => tense stare => 4, 5 bobs on the D => assume pre-BJ positions fully clothed w/ no change in emotion). (i.e. - "Wanna fuck?" => 3 solid but obscure angles of riding => standing fully clothed outside of car 10 sec later). Just stuff like that kinda takes away from the point of having those scenes

The premise alone is enough to keep me interested with this game and the LIs, outside of maybe Leah, are still hot for the most part but I'm more than prepared to have possible nightmares of the facial expressions

First of all the story is better than usual VN that we often see , not great it is okay for a gangster story which is the only plus in this VN , other than that rest of the writing , models and sex scenes all are pretty bad . The models are creepy especially Audrey with those facial expressions like a zombie and the models who look good are not romanceable taken up antagonist . Most Female characters who are Love interests are either bisexual ( almost all ) or sluts or hookers or strippers not single one is normal who you would love to romance . And voyeurism scenes seems to be main focus seen in the game . I played till day 3 end and we see 2 antagonist fucking scenes there is no way to avoid it or skip it and I deleted the game after that .And the sex scenes are so boring no animations and no foreplay like kissing .Overall it is so bad I don't recommend this unless you love voyeurism scenes and bisexual girls , scenes where your LI fool around with other girls without you . I don't usually give terrible ( 1 star )game ratings so I'll give this 2 stars .

We should probably start with the good... the dev is talented. The story is cohesive and the dialogue is pretty good. Also, the staging of the scenes and the renders are well done. They have put a lot of thought and work into this and it shows.

For the Not So Good, in an effort to make the girls unique, the faces are way over-morphed and as a result, some of the expressions look odd. Aubrey looks like she is pain half the time and I am not sure what's up with her fly-away hair. Leah is so over-morphed her neck area where he chin/jawbone meet up looks funky. Leah's apprerance was so off that all I could do every scene she was in was focus on how horrible she looked.

Also, some of the character poses are just.... odd....

Having said all of that, it is possible the dev is going for a unique style and trying to do something different from the ordinary VNs out there. Plus, they continue to produce updates and the work keeps getting better as the story progresses. So, for this reason I am giving it 4 stars instead of three.

It will be interesting to see where this goes.

Devil In Your Eyes... Fun, frightening and sexy. An extremely entertaining and compelling VN. 5/5 but not perfect... but then what is? The gangster background story, although so far being often a secondary theme, is wonderfully written and oozes anxious and sinistre undertones; it really works well and gets the imagination working overtime on possible scenarios/endings. Great stuff!

Music is good. The characters are varied and flawed so that ticks a lot of boxes for me. The relationships come at you faster than you can say "don't even think for one second that I'm going to wear a gimp suit for you..." and the abundance of potential conflicts, love triangles and kinks have the potential to make this VN one of the greats.

The MC's personal history has been really well thought out and there are enough potential routes already that it's going to be impossible not to replay DIYE just to see how far, how depraved and how risky/safe his life will become. So happy that this isn't a shallow and mindless harem VN.

The main characters... most of them work extremely well, and the way each is introduced to the story is impressive and clever. I only really have reservations so far about two: Smecker (he is too easy going at the start for his background character) and Jay (seemingly too cliche)... but enough of that negativity. Aubrey is cool and lovely, Sabrina too [nice relationship add] and Mac is just a sweatheart. But it's the more conflicted and emotionally-problematic characters that call out more: Sheena, Joyce [not my kink but oof] and Jessica (hope to see a lot more of her... did I spot her ) are the dangerous and ultimately more exciting LIs. But the two jewels, and probably [hopefully!] not potential LIs are Charlene and Brutus. Love that bad girl, I think she will add a lot of flavour, and 10 stars for Brutus, the outright shocker and funniest character I think I have ever come across.

The scenes, art-work and structure are generally excellent. The only real problem I had [apart from some of the hairstyles] was Leah... she's "kinda funny looking" and has a particularly weird jawline. And her tits look like some 40 year old MILFs that has dropped 3 or 4 kids. Maybe too harsh? But I find it a shame as I really wanted to be able to explore all the possible routes and endings but she creeps me out...

...not as much as Brutus does, and now I fear of having nightmares of being restricted in a gimp suit and, and... well other things that I really don't want to think about. Comedy genius!

I'm not sure why this game has the ratings it does. None of the characters are particularly likeable. Especially Audrey. Seriously i wish the MC had the option to pack his stuff up,and go back to where he came from. So,so,so, much boring dialogue as well. And last but not least the MC is a dumbass. The game already needs a walk through and its the second release.

And pretty much all the characters are just rampaging assholes.

The good is that renders have improved greatly as the game progressed.

As of right now this game is uninspiring at best.

To be honest, I'm not sure why this game is getting so little in the way of attention. I've ran through it twice and am definitely looking forward to more.

The renders are good. The models look great and are not the perfect models with no blemishes and unnatural bodies you find in a lot of other games. This gives a level of reality that I enjoy.

Aside from the models who are love interests or lust interests, you have some great supporting characters here. A dumb as a box of rocks tough guy, a shit talking pervert little person, and others really bring this together.

The story is interesting and I am definitely looking forward to seeing where it goes. Along with a carefully created backstory of all your own fuck ups; you are treated to plots of criminal enterprises, potential romances, redemption, and business building.

I was surprised, but not disappointed by a brief jump into playing another character and the choices added to that area of the game.

The game isn't wall to wall sex, but you are treated to a few scenes if you play your cards right. I'm not a game wanker, but these do make me want to switch over to Pornhub if you get my drift.

I'm not sure where this game is going, but I definitely want to see more of it.

The one con I came across is the couple parts where you have to complete certain tasks prior to moving to the next area. Maybe I'm a bit lazy, but having to roam to different parts of the apartment to complete menial tasks did not appeal to me.

Give it a shot. You won't be disappointed.

5/5. I had a nice and enjoyable playthough. Very interesting *sexy* enthralling *sexy* mind-captivating *sexy* story game. . Some of the models expressions are a bit too large, but I managed. Lovely game with character motivation and plot.

A good game and story. Wonder if I could make a piece of work like this. Certainly, an interesting story and depth character. It is rich in both type of content, adult and story. Would be waiting for Day 2.

After, replying the game twice, I do feel like the bar scenes and the midnight scenes can be a little nit brighter. Its good immersion but to fan service, this immersion can be opted out.

I think it's a really good starter game with a decent storyline. Of course there can be improvements and things tweaked. No game is ever perfect. It isn't the same run of the mill game that seems to be popping up everywhere nowadays and has a chance to do something. The devs wanted something different and it is that from most games out there. It's worth a checkout and hopefully over time it will be improved. I would just suggest being a little bit more strict on what renders they allow to go through and editing the text a little more. Again though, a decent starter game that looks promising if it delivers. Plus side, there is a lot of content for it just starting out.

Added 11/19/21- I've been keeping an eye on this game from the start and they've improved a lot while also redoing some of their initial release. I wouldn't pay attention to the reviews here with low stars who don't seem intelligent enough to follow what's going on or just not giving the game a chance. I still find it enjoyable and do like the multiple paths. Your best bet to understand the game more is hop into the forum and talk to the devs and the people there.

I mean it is just so boring. Every convo is just so drawn out and so so boring. The whole club scene I nearly nodded off. The main character is god awful too, constantly saying sorry and repeating the same story over and over in the early game.

When I saw the Leah character too on stage I genuinely thought it was a guy in a women's dress. No joke. The MC is just so horribly written, He is apparently o so sorry about the past as he explains again the story about Leah and the cheating. He then checks leah out backstage and says maybe something will go do down in the future between them ........ then literally a second later he is saying the same about Leah little sister. The whole scene was pointless and he just blurts out pervy garbage in his mind and goes around saying pointless things, when he clearly learns nothing or means it.

Just in general, pretty mundane and the MC and supporting characters do not help matters so far. If a script rewrite happens and the story is tightened up and the MC has a bit of spark about him. It could get better under those circumstances. If I play other updates I will update the review.

Good start so far. Not a bad story either. Didn't notice any serious issues except for near the end. Lighting could be a bit better. But that could be on my end. Renders are nice, and the chicks are hot. Keep up the good work, and I'll keep an eye on this one
