I mean, I can totally do with no story games if we're talking outside of porn games. Mario games, for example. I really like them and their stories are often barebones at best. But when it comes to sex games I need that extra layer of story or it just doesn't work for me.

Yeah, I was mostly talking from the perspective of porn games. For standard games there are plenty I enjoy that don't have much of a story at all.

Stories matter to me, I recently played a game which I found very boring,
I'll keep the name to myself, but basically it was about a father and daughter stuck
on an Island, and it sucked, the dialogue was terrible,I still played it to the end,
but I was glad when it was over.
Now I'm playing a game called BlackHeart Hotel and it has been the complete
opposite, major story lines, deaths of major characters, it's one of those games
where the plot thickens like a TV series or movie. So story can make it interesting.

If the story is shit then I usually bow out.
No point in blowing it to lewd scenes without any context, it's a game after all. If I want to fap then it might as well be to pictures I can find, cut out the middle man which is the game.
Story, theme and feeling is all important in a game. There are exceptions though, if there's feeling there and the theme's tasty you can work with it.
Recently I played 'Shin Chikan no Kiwami, Groper of Glory'.
I couldn't understand shit, the translation was borked, I didn't know what the fuck was going on due to the untranslated game mechanics, but it still gave me a few laughs.
I liked how blatantly open it was, you can hire new "perverts" to join your "squad" and above them there's a description of their experience, a young high school boy would have something like "First Time Stalker" whereas a fat old guy would have "Accomplished Rapist", I just found it funny that I just hired these guys and couldn't help laugh my ass off.
There was also a few pretty nice hot moments, I mean who doesn't like a cheeky groping on a crowded train or a dirty hard fuck in a train station toilet? Everyone loves a fresh and honest slut.

good stories are not good because you haven't read it yet, good stories are good still on the 100th time you read it. and bad stories are bad the first time you read it even if it's an 'original' one.
but I don't care how good the story is if it's about the kinks I like. it matters more that the kink is executed in a way that increases its effect rather than decreases. what triggers me to quit is ruining the kink, with early and too easy sex for example. but as far as story goes I have no problem reading a hundred almost identical stories of the type I like.

Depends on what the game promises.
Like if a game looks like its going to be this narrative with sex scenes that punctuate it, I have certain expectations.
But if a game is pretty much just an excuse to show off porn animations or art, then I have different expectations.
Neither of these approaches are bad, per se but if you're going to commit to one of them, then fully commit. Don't try to half and half it.

Stories are pretty much all I really care about.
Personally, if the story ends up being on the backburner, then I'll likely just end up skipping through the game to see if anything interesting happens. It doesn't have to be a masterpiece, but there should still be enough to keep my interest.

There have been stories so dumb (even by h-game standards) that have made me refund or simply uninstall it forever. So, yes, I would say for me it does matter.

In short Hell yes!
But I am worst then you when it comes to plots and stories. I include the whole game itself, not just the writing of the story. Everything from the plot to the art, the psychology of the characters, the flow and timing.... everything. The truth of the matter it doesn't matter what the theme is, it's how the game is put together.
Start with the art and character design. Your average male protagonist is sporting a trouser howitzer, and all the women are in love with it. Fact most women are fine with 6 inches since most women buy toys about that length. If women really were into length a few thousand years of evolution would have men tripping over their sausages. It's how you swing your sword not its length that is the difference. Most female characters are chesty, like they wouldn't need airbags if they got in a car crash. In most stories women are up for giving out BJs right and left. Worst, women characters often are not developed enough either with their character, motivations, likes, or anything resembling real females.
Then there is the writing. Oh damn, I could go on for days about that topic. But when you can't tell which character is talking and they all sound the same, you got a stinker of a game. Few writer/developers can work with accents, idioms, collocal speech, or anything that adds to the flavor of a story.
Plot and timing seem always rushed. Doesn't matter the theme or genre, its 5 minutes in the game and the "lewd" work faucet is turned on full-bore. Granted a lot of games are just what they are supposed to be by design, just as if you bought a nude magazine at a convince store. The art is great, the premise is good, but the rest of the work is a total dumpster fire.

I get so into the story playing some games that I forget that it was supposed to be bonertime, you just haven't found the one yet.
