i didn't reply to the pole because it's biased and have no value but imo if a game is not availiable in a language i can understand mtl is better than nothing.
Then why aren't you already playing machine translated games? The tools have existed for decades. You don't even need to have the machine translation overwrite the words in the game you are playing, you can just open up chiitrans/translation agregator/VNR/whatever and have the game translated along with the original language. Then you can learn a new language while playing a porn game, it's win/win!

It's easier to use an existing, although crappy, translation than to take care of everything yourself.
What it has to do with this thread or me? I'm sure I haven't reported anyone in the last 30 days. And I doubt I would have reported anyone for such minuscule reasons. I didn't participate in this forum for quite some time except a few other threads so I'm at loss here what's going on. Got a notification and someone calling me names for something I probably didn't do. This is so random and quite insulting, but whatever. I rather ignore it and move on.

As the thread goes, I agree with you. MTL games should have their own section. Most of them are random gibberish. Automatic translation from Japanese to English is terrible. Not that much different from using VNG (was it called that? A software which uses google translate etc to translate vn in real-time).
A few passionate MTL users can flood this site with games which would make little sense reading them.
It already happening with RPGM games, though I wouldn't remove them entirely. Some of them have to be adjusted to not cause crashes and some users would prefer playing for the sex scenes alone even if the MTL text makes little sense. At least it gives some kind of context.
I would say adding a MTL icon in the "latest game" header could solve the issue not mixing them up with proper games.

i don't understand your response, i've already played a mtl games.
if my goal was to learn another language and wanted to understand a game not availiabe in french or english it could be a good option but it's not the case.
i've already done translations from english to french for some short youtube video and even with 2 language i know and a short video it's incredibly time consuming, i can't imagine how long it would take for a game to be translated by myself in a language i don't know, it's way too time consuming and i have other things i want to make.

Often you just need a few words from a sentence and with some imagination you can figure out what they are saying... somewhat.

What i find worse than engrish in games or MTL games are the people who always complain about it.
I don't mind MTL games in the sense that there're people who appreciate them. Just slightly irked that there's no easy way to filter out MTL games at the moment. I'm just straight up not interested in them, especially the unedited ones. (Even edited ones have varying amounts of readability) Some (most?) of the posters are kind enough to put "MTL" in bright large font in the opening posts so it's easy to spot, but there have been times where I look at the tags, genre, synopsis, find myself interested and about to download, scroll down to the replies and find out that the text in the game is all gibberish. (also why I always always read the replies before dling a translated game from here, much and many thanks for all ye poor kind sods helpful posters who report back on the quality of the translations)
I mean, if all I wanted was to look at steamy pictures/gifs/videos I'd just go to the relevant sites. MTL is better than nothing, but nothing is an awfully low bar to set.

I did not suggest that anyone manually translate anything, nor do anything remotely as difficult or time-consuming as making a game from scratch. There are multiple programs available that can pull the text from a game that you are playing and automatically translate it. I'm not sure why that's so hard to understand.
Let's say If someone is Interested in Doing to Translation done to some Jap_H_games is it necessary to have Decent knowledge in the Japanese language to Fully do it ? is there like a website where you can Copy/paste each individual Sentence and Translating the game Manualy , because i do Have Free time and i would like to Do something for this community so please enlight me.

Feel free to post your own edited MTL instead of complaining, you are welcomed to do so and we are more than gladly to patch it over the MTL.

Edit: I also hope those MTL be more careful of their engine, as not to screw up wrap-around text and translated img file as well.

See, this is why you never ever EVER give a single solitary inch. Say "Fine, an occasional high quality edited MTL wouldn't be the end of the world," then they say "It's going to be all MTL all the time and if you don't like it you can edit them yourself."

What is so wrong with seeing something that isn't at the level it could be and putting in the effort to make it better? So it is better to stand strong on your "principles" of doing nothing but complain and expecting others to bend over backwards to meet your approval? I have more respect for someone who toils for months to put out a piece of shit project MTL then some shit poster who's only feedback is "Ugh MTL".
I guarantee you if we got 100 dedicated people to each take a part of an MTL and translate it correctly machine translated or otherwise and submit it to a master file or github In a few weeks you could improve a few games here.
is that realistic, fuck no, but image if that many people stepped up off their asses and did more then complain.
TLDR: If you don't like something and you can change it STEP UP AND CHANGE IT. Do better then the other man/woman doing the MTL.
That isn't compromising on your principles but putting your beliefs into action.
Unfortunately, what I want to change is for there to be no more MTL. And I'm pretty sure that the majority of the 93 people who said they wanted edited MTLs don't really want the site to be spammed by 100s of them every few weeks.

Okay, so you don't want anymore MTL. Try and make that happen then. There are plenty of things you can do. You can commission translators to overhaul the MTLs, you could learn the tools and Japanese then do them yourself, you could submit requests to developers of Japanese games and let them know you would be willing to pay for an English translations. If enough people show interest it might result in you getting that translation. There is a neat little option on Dlsite for requesting translation too. Plenty of options to choose from. Have you actually tried any of that, or did you just come to an internet forum and started to complain then expect everyone to delete all the MTLs because you said so? To be fair, maybe you didn't realize you had these options till now; if so there is a good place to start.
Additionally, unless you've spoken to every one of those 93 anonymous voters at least do them the justice of allowing them to speak for themselves. For all we know they do want hundreds of MTLs a week. I mean their vote was for edited MTL so then I imagine they would be thrilled by the prospect of 100s of new games to play every few weeks.
I want people to stop making MTLs, not incentivize them to make more.
