Self Insert
[playerName] is the MC.
"You walk to the house."
Todd: "Hey [playerName] look at me."
"You look at Todd."
If the game wants you to self insert, then it's better to hide the MC's face, unless the player can customize the face, but this is rare in porn games, so for self insert, hide the face. Can someone counter my argument and tell me why it's better to show the MC's face if the game wants you to self insert?
Third Person
Bob is the MC
"Bob walked over to the house."
"What do you want Bob the MC to do?"
If all characters are referred to by name, including the MC, then it makes sense to show the face.
Conclusion
Are you making a game where the player is expected to self insert, or is the MC treated as a third person character, of which the story always refers to the MC by name; meaning, the game will never say things like, "You went to the house", instead it would say "Jacob went to the house.", of which Jacob is the MC.
