I would give both options.

Diversity is key: You can have a normal progressing relationship or you can have a slutty girl that you can bed in a few scenes, it will be a bleak character at first but then you can develop it from there... "Why is she so slutty?" -> Discover past events, get closer to her, (...) both work imho.

Of course a good intro is mandatory, you need to let the player know at least the basics of your world, the place in which you live and of course the protagonst's goals among the main things but even when it comes to the introductions you can do the classic hentai scene and then, once it is over, the protagonist says "How did it come to this?" and that would be where your "real" introduction starts.
Actually I played with the idea of a female hotel receptionist attracted to the mc on first sight, which would end up in a one-night stand. It could work, but I'm not sure I want this^^

I would rather to have it both, with the proper and good introduction of a mc and an introduction to his/her background it would be make a good story and also add some sexy scenes at the beginning of the game to make the whole storyline worth playing just like JOHN (Jessica oneil hard news).

I think for a first version midnight paradise from lewedlab was really well done from long intro to all character introduction.
I think it was pretty bad, most of it just eye-candy to please the audience. By character introduction, you mean introduction to their bodies right? There was not much else. It was as overtroped as it can get.

iam sorry but we are playing adult games
because it's the only way to find story with sex scenes

so the story comes first then the sex

I prefer the longer intro personally. If I just wanted sex I would buy image sets from affect3d. The sex scenes are so much better for me with a good story/characters.

This can be taken too far. Lewdisland comes to mind, it took many many game updates for that game to have any sex, and I found it frustrating.

Personally, I think Lust Epidemic really nailed its opening, setting the mood and tone of the world quite quickly.

It might be worth making a distinction between no sex and no adult content here, The DeLuca Family as mentioned earlier for example doesn't have any sex but it does have some peeking events, attractive shots and that dream bit, personally I feel it could do with a bit more in the way of adult content but it's got some of the balance right (similar way to Big Brother which I think handled it well for the most part).

You don't necesarilly need to be banging your way through the cast from the word go but there should be opportunities to see what you've got to look forward to.

Agreed, although I would like to see some more creativity to early adult content.

This is actually some of the few things that DeLuca Family could have had better. Shower peeking, hidden cameras and dreams are like the least creative ways to do this, in my opinion.

In my humble opinion that I surely love a good story because it worked up the anticipation the excitement toward the reward of the sexual scenes.

If you just dish it out willy nilly and everywhere our senses will get dull and become acustomed to it and we're bored during half way.

Hey :)

Some of you might know that I'm working on a game for a while now and I'm at the point where a alpha or even beta release might be realistic in the next few weeks.
I've focused a lot on the story for now and there are not many adult scenes in the game at all at the moment, especially the intro doesn't contain any.
Now if it would be an ordinary intro I wouldn't mind personally, but this intro goes on for over several (ingame) days and I have the feeling that it's just a bit too long for some people without seeing any adult stuff on screen.
So my question is:
Is it better to include some random sex, or just focus on the story? What do you think?

I know most of you will most likely say that the middle is the best way, and I'm absolutely on your line here, but that's not the question^^
I Think Some Nude Scenes Or Sex Dreams Here And There Will Be A Good Solution To Your Problem

I like a mix of both depending on the character. For characters with the right personality and mind set, getting someone in the sack on a first date or even after just bumping into them and having a few drinks at a bar is fine. For others, more of a slow burn makes sense, and then there's plenty of room for in between scenarios. I'm not a fan of making you wait til the end of the game to get any sex scenes. I'm also not a fan of having everyone be fuckable from day 1.

I can tolerate 5 minutes of zero pornographic content in the first five minutes of the game. After that, I hold down CTRL to gauge how long it will take to get to the porn content. If I hold down control for a minute or two, and there's still no porn content, I'll exit the game and un-compress the images to see if the game actually has any porn in it.

Criteria for what's considered pornographic or softcore, even in the slightest:
- If a woman is sexy and pleasing to look at, while fully clothed, but at least with cleavage showing, that's enough to keep me interested. That would suffice to keep me going with the story.
- If the dialogue revolves around an erotic sexual idea, that would suffice too.

Basically, the PORN game has to have some kind of pornographic or even softcore element within the first ten minutes of the game or I'm out. It has to also feel natural too.

Kingdom of Deception didn't have any actual sex in the beginning of the game, but Sabia & Niev were very sexy to look at it, so I was able to bring myself to follow the story. It took a while in that game before Sabia starting sucking off orcs. I think it took like 15 minutes before she was sucking orc dick. That was a long 15 minutes.

I would NEVER play a game like A Wife and Mother. To me, that game is total and complete utter fail of bilbilical proportion. It's the worst porn game I've ever played. However, I wouldn't mind looking at the games softcore and pornographic renders, because the render quality is erotic. But I have zero interest in seeing people watching a movie at a movie theater, devoid of any sexual content.

Final note,

If you want to create a long ass introduction with no sexual content. DO IT, there's an audience who are into that illogical and irrational shit. There are people who will actually pay you money to NOT put porn in your porn game, and purposely tease them for years and years, lol.
