Do You Prefer Games with Customizable Characters or Predefined Ones?

I love it when I can customize my characters’ looks and personality in adult games, but some predefined characters are just so well-written. Which do you prefer and why?

Depends on the genre i guess, RPGM ones tends to have more customisable MCs whereas VNs and renpy tends to be more fixed for obvious reasons. I suppose Unreal engine can have custom MCs but these will be those open world type ones which just look really weird

Customization is good, just shouldn't be useless customization that never affects anything
