Do you prefer more linear games or more open/grinding?

Personally, I hate grindy games.

Especially ones with timers, you have to be in the kitchen, with the money, at exactly 11pm on Monday night to trigger this scene, it just reminds me of cluedo a bit.

Then saying that, my favourite game is My Girlfriend's Amnesia, which has you walking from A to B for the majority of it :coldsweat:

Think it's a balancing act whereas a good story can carry a grind, but it really has to be good.

Grindy games with timers are terrible, but grindy game where the player can try again, and with frequent content thrown in along the way, IMO, is the most fun to play.

At least the 'main portion' of the game has to be linear for me. Side stuff can happen in more open fashion.

In games like these the scenes needs to have a believable progression to me, and when it's purely open world often you can be overwhelmed with options and everything loses it's sense of connectedness to the point where it doesn't matter what you're doing or when you do it. Story, continuity and development are important to me in porn games, because if not for those, why am i even playing a porn game? Why am i not simply looking a porn?

in porn and in normal games i like linear over open world. i dont hate openworld games, but often times it feels like the open world hurt the game/story more than add to it.
also in normal open world games i tend to get overleveled by doing sidequests, which makes the main story way too easy.

I feel Kingdom and Bravesoul were great exceptions to that, both open, yet linear enough to kind of have best of both worlds. I mean bravesoul is a great game by itself and more than capable of holding it's own as just a game, the porn aspect was just an added bonus(considering when it was released, today it holds up in the same way Diablo holds up).

I would choose a more open ending and non linear even if it is grinding because I just hate to be in a rail, to be set a course that we can't make a choice.

I value freedom of choice over anything else if I can choose.. lol because so many times in real life I don't have a choice, lol to the very least let me have the joy of having a choice in a game, lol
