Second image is good for me. If it is a picture in a series of pictures (i.e. if you follow the Girl with the flashlight through the house), perhaps one or two sentences per picture - than almost everybody wouldn't see the girl on the right at the first run.
If this is the only picture with running through the house and/or if you put to much text on this picture so the viewers have enough time to see every detail on the image, than I'm sure, that most people would see the girl sooner or later.
So if that's your goal, than I would say this settings are perfect.
Plus: Now it looks like she has a flashlight in the hand. At the first picture I thought it was a completely dark room with only some light from the moon and stars outside of the building. Didn't even saw (or thought there could be) a flashlight anywhere.
