VN - Ren'Py - Domino Beach [Ep.2 Fix] [Mr Jet]

I'm going with 3.5 because of the missed opportunities, in my opinion.

Every choice in this game, at least so far, feels like a placebo. Except for the classic yes or no choices regarding this or that girl.

The game, from what we've seen so far, has a very clear Reputation system (many people notice you and what you do, but not necessarily because you chose to be noticed or climbed to the top by building relationships, winning fights, etc.). The fact that the fight scene didn't have a small mini-game—NO need for free-roams or soulslike mini-game difficult or turning the game into a sandbox like many are—was a bit disappointing.

If the story is as simple as gang fights, romance with attractive girls, and a cozy atmosphere, it would be more engaging to make the MC shine through choices and handling fights. It doesn't need to be two separate games, just some renders (based on the developers' choices for the amount) here and there where people acknowledge the outcome of the fights and how you (MC) handled conversations with the girls and friendships with the other guys.

But the fact that we can win fights just because it was predetermined, and the girls like you just because you are the MC, feels off to me.

I really hope the developers take the choices more seriously and implement interesting systems. Again, there's no need for free-roams, puzzles, sandbox, or placebo choices: e.g., "MC - Hmm... I need my keys," then the system tells the player to click on the keys. This would be false positive freedom, in my opinion.

This is the 1.0 version, and it's not bad. The developers know how to create a good atmosphere, and the MC is not repulsive at all. Yay. But are we just reading a story or playing a VN? If the game is just going to be classic yes or no choices with good renders and an okay-ish story, I'll probably skip it. There's no need for another VN heavily based on reputation where you don't actually build it, and the outcomes are always good no matter what for the MC.

I know I am going to be in the minority here, but this is just a steaming pile of hoha. I mean, the production is pretty good and the LIs are hot as hell, but the story is just bad.

Let's talk about the good first. I really like the MC. He is flawed but has potential. He makes mistakes but has good intentions. He is not a great surfer nor is he an awesome fighter, he is just an average dude in tough situation and he is fighting his way through it. Love it. Really good stuff.

Also, the production and graphics are pretty good. There are some grainy shots and not everything is in focus, but for the most part, the women are hot and the scenes are staged well. I have never seen such a robust beach scene in any of these games so 5 stars for all the settings and scenery.

But let's talk about the story. OMG... It's like West Side Story with the Jets and the Sharks except on the beach. I mean, come on. rival surfing groups with the misfits vs the rich kids? Talk about cliched. I am waiting for a musical number where each gang face off in a dance off or something. I keep expecting to see a version of Pony Boy show up, or Blaine from Pretty in Pink role up in his Beemer. Maybe the MC will pull a Lloyd Dobler and try and woo his LI by holding a boombox over his head playing In Your Eyes. I mean, come on already. Is this where we are with AVNs?

This started so well, and it's clear the dev has put in a lot of love and attention into this. They are clearly very talented and from a technical perspective, it is well written, but I spent most of my time laughing at the ridiculousness of this story. All it needs is the appearance of a Hoff like character and we can call this Baywatch: Domino Beach.

Oh well. I am clearly in the minority and that's fine. I hope the dev does well with this and I hope people get some kind of enjoyment out of it, but for me, it is way too cliched and way too silly.

UPDATE: I added an additional 2 stars because I just realized this dev has another game out there they completed. I think devs need to get credit for this because creating these games is hard and we need to encourage them to continue. It's funny, because I liked the story but hated the MC in the other AVN and it is the complete opposite in this one. Good luck to the dev.

TLDR - it's good, but it feels like it's missing something to put it among the best.

Good concept, with plenty of assets used, the world MC resides in feels complete. But the story, characters and choices feel artificial. Every character is a bombshell, every character is interested in you. You have ONE enemy and he is the embodiment of all cliché bad guys, a rich kid with a bad attitude. Everybody else instantly likes MC.

This is another game in which choices don't really matter. You can basically do what ever you want. Each scene stands alone and has no consequence for the following scene's. This makes it feel like MC's actions have no consequences at all.

The dialog although not bad, is not intriguing either. It's like having to listen to someone when you're not really interested in what they are saying.

So why the 4/5 rating? Because despite these short comings it's still better than most games on f95, and there is still time to improve. It honestly kind of reminds me of "race of life" but with less choices.

Very high quality 4K renders, ridiculously hot LIs and very hot scenes with 4K/120 animations.

This is not the first game of this dev. I already played a game that I liked quite a lot, Become a Rockstar. Another very hot game with high quality renders, beautiful LIs and animated scenes.
But at the same time a project that took around 5 years to complete, with the final update taking almost 1.5 years.

The project is farily well compensated in Patreon. Looking at the numbers I guess around $3-6k per month. So very much viable.
Fingers crossed this one is not milked for another 5 years.

One of the better games coming out recently, lots of promise with great art and unique storyline bound to make an impact. I am pleasantly surprised with this writing and can't wait for more. Absolutely recommend it.

Not that I expected anything horrible from this dev given his discography, but I was extremely surprised by how good of an introduction this was.

Looks like a very promising game from what I've played in the first episode. I get some OBX vibes from this which seems like an awesome idea for an AVN that I haven't considered and happy to see it well executed so far.

The render quality is top-notch and the writing is spot on (and sounds like real people are talking which is a rare find in AVNs nowadays). Not many lewd scenes yet but I can tell they will be great too.

Definitely will stay up to date with the development and I'm excited for the next update!

This is a perfect escape, filled with feel-good beach vibes. The characters are well-crafted and each adding something to the story which is just starting btw, The blend of relaxing beach atmosphere, interesting story, and oh man the visuals(top notch). If you're looking for a delightful and visually captivating getaway, this is it.
*This has the potential to become one of the GOATS(personal opinion)

Episode 2 review: A really strong start.

Decent characters, decent writing, decent renders

I really really dont like big tits and big ass. Half the time it ends up rendering as barely human, but even with my dislike, this game still drew me in. It's very well made and it manages to be sexy.

Looking forward to more episodes

BARS was a pretty nice VN and this is even more promising. Characters look good, setting is nice and I'm invested in the story so far. So many characters to get to know. I'm very exicited for the next release if the quality of the release are as good as this fisrt one. Keep em coming!

This game has a really strong start. Great renders and hype music, attractive girls, intriguing plot and solid world-building. I like the MC too. It definitely has the potential to become one of the best AVNs out there.

All the Characters seem realy interesting so far, many Waifus even the male side characters seem really good which most games just do a horrible job at.

Hope you had a Hub (so that you can see the characters profiles is a really good feature that most games with a lot of charaters should 100% have)

First episode release and I am ready to say this is a very promising game. The setting and colors are very vibrant and pleasing to look at, the music is on point.

The girls are not only very sexy and attractive, but I find myself quite interested in getting to know them better. Carla, Fiona and Reilly are my current favorites, that may change in the future of course.

The MC is relatable and fun to play. Oh and for once in an AVN he DOES NOT HAVE A SUPERNATURAL DONG !!! Thank you for that MrJet.

The main story flows smoothly and builds up at a reasonable speed. It has just the right amount of drama to keep me interested.

Review of Domino Beach for Episode 1
The main character in Domino Beach is a good looking young man who is on a journey to discovery what he wants do in life, so this chapter gives a small glimpse of that.

Renders and Animations
The renders and animations are among the best in the industry. They surpass the already visually stunning work of the developers previous game, this is undoubtedly the strongest aspect of the game. The lighting, texture and details is all there. Minor flaw is that animation doesnt match the colors of the renders.

Music
While the music does enhance the overall experience, it isn't the best I have encountered.

Writing
The writing has improved since Become A Rockstar, particularly in terms of grammar. However, the dialogues remain somewhat lackluster and can become disengaging after a while. The text conveys the message but lacks the engaging quality that makes you want to keep reading. The humor really lacks in delivery department.

Characters
The female characters are a bit disappointing. Only Carla and the "Cave Explorer" girl stand out to me, while the rest appear rather average or trashy looking. The casting could have been better (the standards were set high from devs previous game).

Choices
So far, the choices presented in the game have been mainly affecting the MC's responses without significant impact on the storyline. I hope for more meaningful choices in future chapters.

Overall Impression
At this early stage, I would rate the game a 3.5 out of 5.

Well, Mr. Jet sure knows how to knock out a first episode.
This avn is about beach life, lifeguards, surfers and the renders and animations are awesome. I very much like his former game, but this one looks even more promising.
I would recommend to play this very much. You will like it, i bet.

I have long been not attracted to games created in daz 3d, I like more games created in hs2, but this game hooked me, it's ooh very nice. Cool music, lots of sounds, cool renders. Thanks for the game, I will follow the development of the project.

I am kind of repeating my review from last time, but the use of ChatGPT for the dialogue and AI generated music is still apparent in this present version. So, moving forward......don't expect anything different. The use of ChatGPT makes the dialogue feel unnatural and unnecessarily wordy. When characters try to make a point, they come off too profound and out of character. The conflict between the two groups the Wave Kings and Rebels seems like an interesting concept at first glance, but the dialogue and setup hinder this tremendously. It makes it seem like a weak middle school brawl with no substance or stakes. I think if the writing and setup were better, this'll be one of the best VNs on this site because of the concept and setting. At the moment that is not the case.

The game visually looks amazing, and the renders look amazing, but there is one thing that threw me off.... it is the writing. I have a feeling that it was fully written by ChatGPT given by the way the characters speak, and the music seems to be made using AI as well. I mean you could tell almost right away if you had used ChatGPT to create your own story before. I got to say the setting and exposition is unique and fun, and the story seems interesting. It's a game that pulls you in, but it leaves you feeling like there is something off about it. I have nothing against using AI as a tool to generate ideas and create art (for developers who lack the means to hire artist or create their own art)...BUT to create all the dialogue for the game using ChatGPT gives me a bunch of mixed feelings. Is anything from the game an original idea from the dev or was it purely made through ChatGPT?

Not a lot there yet, but what is there is very good. Characters are well written and distinct, models are gorgeous, plot seems to draw its inspiration on a mash of baywatch, outer banks and road house. Looks like will be a AAA game, worth supporting this developer because he has proven to see projects through to the finish.

A very promising Episode 1. Excellent at setting up the foundation with brief background of how MC got to this point and what the new group dynamics are like. I also enjoy that the different groups are distinctly different from one another. I'm looking forward to see what they are like as we go deeper into the story.

Being adult game, of course we must talk about the girls too. They are stunningly beautiful and they seem to have interesting characteristics too. I do wonder who the blonde girl in the cover page is and what role she would play.

Vanilla+youth theme meets flawless renders, good presentation and hot girls. I'm definitely in. I really like this type of games. This game has been chosen very well in terms of environment and concept. This game gives me Outer Banks vibes.

A desperate young man suddenly shines and becomes the center of attention of everyone, and there are people who can't bear this situation. It's one of the scenarios every man imagines in his mind lol. The game definitely started out narratively interesting. I wonder where it will go. I hope not every girl jumps on the MC without a reason like most games. It would be nice to see more groups/people in the story like Wave Kings, Rex, etc. who will constantly cause problems for Mc.

The game received a good rating. I want to contribute to this, it's definitely a 5 star game. Let's see where it goes.
