VN - Ren'Py - Completed - Doomsday Dreamgirl [v1.0] [nadia nova]

A great example of using all the resources you have available despite it not being much. Bare bones art, very few songs, and little to no animation. However, the writing is on top of it all.
The lack of everything enhances the dread and horror of this story. The backgrounds are abstract yet uncomfortable. The music puts you at unease. The dialogue can make you giggle, but also dread what comes next. This depressing doomer VN is a fantastic quick read that will likely ruin your mood for a night.

I liked this one. But mainly for how moody it was. It was the right kind of moody, y'know?

Just don't go play this one for the porn, though. No on-screen sex in this one. There's a written sexscene that wasn't half bad, but people who play porn visual novels obviously want something more, ah, visual.

The art is barebones but pretty good for what it is. The way the sprites are used (switching between fullbody and face, etc.) is creative, and the expressions are done quite well.

As for the story... well, the story is there to set a bleak, depressing mood, and that's it. The world is going to end. How? Apparently nobody really knows. Not that it matters, because this story is really just about the two characters' dysfunctional relationship. The impending doom just conveniently excuses how these two are isolating themselves.

The whole thing is atmospheric and a little trippy - but it ultimately doesn't have anything more to offer than that. If you're looking for a bleak little mood piece, this one's great!

...but if you're looking for something with some real story or sexual content, you'll want to look for something else. This short little kinetic novel isn't going to satisfy you.

Overall not a bad story albeit not that original and lacking in the art department what is there is fine and worth a try.

Definitely not helping considering the doomer mood I've been in the last couple of months and even though both the characters are narcissistic and trying to mostly feel their selfish needs, this steel made me really want someone to have any type of relationship with.
