My main goal with this thread is to ensure that the people participating in it become part of the game's development process, as my ultimate and long-term vision is to engage future users who will support me as donors on the Patreon platform.
The Project:
Double X Academy promises to be a highly narrative-driven audiovisual experience, where your choices will shape the fate of the protagonist and the people who become part of his life. Your decisions will directly impact friendships, romantic relationships, and most importantly, the protagonist's family bonds. You will have to decide whether the hero will fight to rebuild his family ties or let go, influencing the destinies of his loved ones throughout the story.
At key moments, Double X Academy will shift narrative perspectives, offering different points of view based on each character. The story won't always center exclusively on the protagonist—players will also have opportunities to 'step into the shoes' of the main heroines, experiencing their perspectives, uncovering their dreams, fears, and even the darkest secrets of their souls.
The world of DX Academy is a place every anime-loving, comic-obsessed, RPG-grinding geek would kill to live in. Imagine a universe where the superhero boom of the ’80s didn’t just inspire fans — it reshaped the whole damn world. Fifty years later, DX Academy stands as the Harvard for otakus — the most prestigious school for anyone who dreams of becoming a legend in cosplay, music, game design, or even e-sports.

Story:
But the hero of this story bears the immense weight and pressure of being the successor to one of the planet's most powerful tech corporations. Determined to break free from his predetermined fate, he defies his father and runs away from home, stealing money from his own family to start a new life. His dream? To become a professional photographer. To pursue this passion, he moves to Lazarus Island, home to one of the most prestigious photography universities in the world—Double X Academy.

Protagonist: Hero(Nameable - Dev names: Gabriel or Kain)
Hero is the second son of the Caelum and Cassius families, handpicked by his own father to be the future of Maximus INC. when the time for his ascension comes. Ever since Regis (his father) chose him as the successor to his legacy, Hero's life has been turned completely upside down. His relationship with his sisters deteriorated, leading to a complete break within the family—especially with his father.
This eventually drove the young Hero to run away from home in pursuit of his own dream, even if the price of that choice was far too high—namely, severing ties with the family he deeply loves.
Best Friend: Hani Izumi (The Sunshine Gal - Academy Nickname: Sparkle)
Hani is the eldest daughter of the Izumi family. Her father owns one of the most traditional restaurants on Lazurus Island—the renowned Shunkashūtō, a favorite of the powerful magnate Regis Jee Caelum. This is because the restaurant belongs to his old childhood friend, Kenji Izumi.
Thanks to this old friendship, their families have always been very close, and it’s revealed that Hero and Hani have been childhood friends who’ve gotten into mischief together since they were young. Even after the Cassius family’s rise and their move to another continent, the two best friends never lost touch. Although their bond and closeness were affected by the distance, their loyalty and affection for each other have always remained strong.
Jill Lousie Scott (The Academy's Favorite Girl - Academy Nickname: Faye)
Jill is one of the most popular girls at Double X Academy, the second biggest rival to “Maddie Queen” (the queen of the college – Maddison Banks), only behind the protagonist’s younger sister, Claire Laurent Caelum (The Crimson Princess), in the competition for the title of college queen — the most influential and adored girl in the entire academy.
Jill is known as the kindest and most supportive presence on campus, always ready to help students and professors. Her warmth earned her the nickname 'Faye,' the campus fairy — a symbol of peace and light.
Thanks to her dedication and charm, Jill lives at the top of one of the world’s most prestigious universities. She has it all: a luxurious apartment, a devoted boyfriend who's the basketball team’s star, loyal friends, and widespread admiration.

Claire is also the founder of the prestigious Lady Rose Boutique in Lazarus and one of the most adored students on campus. Right behind Claire is Faye, Jill Louise Scott, whose kindness, supportive nature, and incredible talent for cosplay have won the hearts of everyone. Jill has become a fan favorite at college events and conventions throughout the region, even managing to dethrone Madison in several cosplay competitions and festivals.
Despite their rivalries, Madison, Jill, and Hani form the legendary Dream Team by hers fans fantasies, considered one of the top cosplay trios in Asia. But behind her flawless image and relentless pursuit of perfection, a question remains: is being the best really all that matters to Madison?
Alice Banks, the 'twin' sister of Madison, is the more reserved and introverted half of the duo — a true tech prodigy. Her brilliance shines in both PC systems and app development, making her the top student in the software engineering program at DX Academy.
