Not really sure why people are having so much trouble using the site honestly. If people use a proper browser, have active AV / security running the whole process is trouble free.

People blaming the site because they don't take security seriously is not the sites fault, it's theirs.

unless you're a VIP on ryuu, just use the server 2 or 3 downloads and you're fine. I've only ever needed to download from mega or pixel drain links there. sometimes workupload as well.

and there are things called "false positives", usually because of the cracking tool used. but a few had a legit copy register as a false positive as well.

and worst case, simply trust your anti-virus. I know malwarebytes works very well at least and you can still scan with the free version of it

I tried downloading games on that site, I chose mega link, new tab appears with a timer for dl link but idiot me clicked the purple button that says direct download instead of the green one. Copy the link, scanned it, said it's clean then open the zip file to see what's inside and accidentally open an msword doc but I cancel it right away. After that I tried extracting it, i get an error message "wrong password". Instinct kicked in and I immediately delete the file. Dumb ass rookie mistake.

Now I'm full scanning my PC with windows defender and I don't have any other av installed, any recommendations?

Do a full scan with Malwarebytes just to be safe. Also after downloading files make sure to check the size, if you were downloading a 1gig game and the file size is 200kb best to delete straightaway.

Plus when downloading from that site try use server 2 as often as possible as it is the easiest and quickest way to get to the download.

Malwarebytes detected 10 files, 9 named riskware and the other is pup.proxymaster or something not sure if it's from the file I download but I put them on quarantine.

Some of the "free to download" or older games only show one line with different hosts, there you just pick the host you prefer. Most will either go to ouo.io or go directly to the download IF the download is still available.
