I opened the file and even scanned it with virustotal, nothing came up, but I'm still worried. Do you think this file has a virus?

There's timeouts in the virustotal log, but not a single one of the anti-virus that responded found something suspicious, even those who are well known for their false-positive. So I'm tempted to say that the file you scanned is safe.
