Downloading games in Germany

Hello,

I just moved to Germany and I am concerned there are many restricts for avoiding piracy in movies, games and music. It is not recommend to use or download torrent since is P2P (Upload and dowload)

Nevertheless I am wondering if anyone have had a legal-problem when downloading games that are posted on F95zone. (Mega, or any other site).

Any experiences or recommendations so far?

Germany isn't a totalitarian surveillance state and as Covid showed most government offices are utterly incompetent when it comes to modern digital technologies. Plus most rights holders are US-based and thus don't put as much effort into international prosecution though some definitely are more trigger-happy than others (see Nintendo). This stuff is illegal pretty much everywhere in the West and Germany is no better at cracking down on it than the rest so unless you plan to host a piracy site yourself you're probably fine.

That said if you do get into legal trouble, even for completely unrelated reasons, any evidence of such illegal activities will also be held against you. And obviously don't get into CP, revenge porn, amateur/celeb leaks or places affiliated with organised crime as those are far more likely to reach prosecution.

You won't have to worry about one-click hosters in general (even for actual high profile content they are fine) and even less so about the stuff that's here.

As you say yourself, avoid torrents and programs which use P2P in the background for content that's copyrighted, but that's really all there is. Getting caught torrenting/sharing content won't be the end, but they'll make you pay quite a bit of money, so it's really not worth doing it.

Do you really think somebody gives a fuck if you download porn games that were "stolen" from Patreon?
This is a pirate site or did you forget.
