Ren'Py - Completed - Dragon Girl X Rework [v1.1] [Shutulu]

I'm a fan of the Dragon Ball franchise, as much as every normal human being, and despite not being the catalyst to my love for japanese animation (this award goes to Saint Seiya, which was probably my first anime, back in 1994), I still holds the franchise in high regard, mostly due to the fun factor, fight scenes and the Brazilian Voice Acting (which unlike the US, was consistent since the airing of the Z saga until this day, with some minor exceptions).

So, yep, the prospect of a DBZ H-game is tantalizing, I could go to the other games, but I'm not a fan of RPG Maker H-games in general, and despite liking his drawings, I'm not a fan of Yamamoto Doujin's stories/plot excuses. That lead us to here, Dragon Girl X, which... Well, for those on the TL;DR side of things: It's a train wreck. For all those others, I will explain why.

Here's why:

Story: Every man on the Dragon Ball Z world goes puf, except you and you do shenanigans to fuck girls.

I'm ok with this excuse for plot convenience, at least in this case you're a generic guy, and not Master Roshi (Not a big fan of those DBZ-H plots with him as the fucker, never was a big fan of the character on the franchise). I would love a game that put's you in Kuririn's shoes, tired of being the butt of everyone's jokes in the franchise and decided with the help of Android 18, fuck every other girl and build a Harem. But this is just a silly idea in my mind. The fact is, that, the story, despite not being that much original, it doesn't offend that much. And that's where my positives on this game ends.

Writing/Translation: It's clear that English isn't the native language of the author, but it doesn't excuse the amount of mistakes on the script, from misgendering, lack of capital letters on the beginning of sentences, and even characters with their name wrong (Maroon/Maron is the daughter of Android 18, not her real human name). And even without the translation problem, the dialogue is nearly nonsensical. I know it's a porn, but even so, a little more effort couldn't hurt.

Gameplay: I usually hate sandboxes for the grinding which is padding in my opinion, but let's judge the game for what it is. The quest system is mildly confusing (honestly, there's no need to talk twice with a character in order to activate their quest), some minigames have explanations, while others don't have, the battles are basically RNG shit (yep, you could rollback to make it easier, but I'm judging for a first player), and the minigames have the same thing about repetition to padding and make the game longer than really is.

Graphics/Sex quality: I can't draw for the life of me, so I'm not gonna be too harsh, and while it's passable , the sprites aren't great, same for sex, which is simplistic as heck.

Sound: I'm not a fan of AVN's without any kind of sound or music. That's more of a personal opinion, but I still think that good music/sound design can turn a mediocre game into a decent one, so some musics and even some sounds, for battle and sex could help this game.

Overall: 1,5/5 - There are better parody games on this site. Kudos to the creator for at least not putting Master Roshi and have a decent UI, but in general, avoid this game.

Story (2/5): The only mc's goal is just fuck the girls, the interactions are too forced and some quests are confusing, every character has differents stories some are funny and some are really noneless and in every story you need to get money...

Gameplay (3/5): The way you get money is frustating, some mini games are difficult but you can use the rollback to get it easier, the same with the battle system, sometimes is difficult but if you use the rollback, you can beat all the enemies without recive damage. There are some bugs but it doesn't affect the gameplay at all.

Animations (2/5): The scenarios are basics and too empties, the majority of the girls have the same body type with little exceptions.

Sex stuff (3/5): Some scenes are good, I think the developer could use some sound effects, i appreciate that there are some loops.

Newgrounds level game without the Newgrounds level charm.

Thats really all I have to say and Im sure anyone that looks at the preview images understands what I mean.

Unfortunatley this already has the Completed status, so im doubting any improvements.

The worst kind of game. Click everywhere and see where it leads to. Just an endless barrage of illogical boring chores and chock full of moon logic. The shitty translation makes things 10X worse. And the graphics are kinda meh.

Edit: Gallery unlocked is bugged too. Everything except some new scenes I very recently found are locked.

Version 1.0

So I must say I am surprised.
Only 1 rating so far, not many posts. I thought this is rather small game, an early version. A test , nothing worth trying.... I was wrong!

This is actually a good game. And what is even more important it has lots of content. I actually could not finish it in one go, (something that usually dont happen).

Art is honestly not that bad as well. Its simple, but it works. It looks like hentai from early 2000s. Someone could say its not good, but for me it kind of works well , maybe because its dragon ball, and because some of first hentai I saw in early 2000s were dragon ball hentai images. So you could say it add nostalgia.

So yes art is simple, but proportions are very good, girls breasts are not too big (thats usually a .. big problem, not because I dont like big tits, but because they look fake, not natural, break immersion.
In this game art look very immersive, and believable.
And what is also nice, sex scenes are animated.

Now what about gameplay? Its again simple, there is money grind, nothing we didnt see in other games, a little anoying but not to the point you want or need to cheat or just rage quit.
There is also trenning grind, its dont in form of simple mini games, they are well made, not anoying, maybe not super fun, but they get the job done.
Other then that we have a point and click type of game, look for item, bring it back, get reward from the girl.
And there is combat from time to time. Here is the part where I honestly cheated many times because fights are hard, actually hard , even when you grind your trennings points.
Getting better costume give you more power, and you can find some very easy so that help.
But overall I think skills are way to easy to miss, they should always hit, then you would feel amazing getting new skills and using them to kill stuff easier. (they are still big help)
I also dont like blocking mechanic , where you choose one of 1 body parts to block and pray enemy will choose exactly this part to attack. Too random. Instead I would use dodge mechanic from trenning minigame as a blocking/evading mechanic. More active and more fun, less luck involved.

Quests are usually easy, sometimes I had some problems, but just visiting every place and talking to everyone usually triggered a progress somewhere so I wasnt stuck for long.
But quest tracker could use some extra info for some quests (it mostly works fine though, and thank god it even exist)
It also works as a way to tell if we still have something to do or is it over for this version, so thats also great.

There are few problems with english version . Sometimes there are suddenly spanish words instead? Sometimes it is broken english. (but just so is mine so well.. I should not blame the dev for that )

In conclusion, its a good game, and full of content. I had good time with it. So I would recommend tyring it if you like Dragon Ball Z.

The gameplay is okay, but not really interesting. The only motivation to play, is to get to all known female characters.
Characters drawings could be smoother.
There is no music, no ambient sound, no sounds in animations.
I can't stress enough how important sex sounds are for stimulation. Simple female moans can improve any cheap animation a lot. There is only a simple "cum" sound.
Scene animations are cheap as well.

Overall, I can not recommend the game. Maybe only if you have already played through all the other games and have nothing better to do.
