The game is... Okay. I thought the plot seemed pretty interesting, but the MC acts like he's 14 if that which is really off-putting. While the renders are pretty high quality, they could definitely use more work in lots of the animated scenes. They don't feel very fluid, and when losing his virginity the MC's dick literally clips through the girl's stomach which is pretty rough. The looping point of some animations could also be done a lot better.

The sex scenes might be nicer if the writing felt more mature, but it really just has me skipping over the text for it most of the time since it just sounds like horny teenagers talking. If you don't care about the writing much then this won't be a very big negative, but I play AVNs for the writing before the animations and scenes. Usually they'll be funny or well written, but this one largely misses the mark on both of those points. Every time I want to like the plotline, the MC's immaturity detracts from it. It's pretty frustrating that a bunch of the driving points for the plot are purely thanks to the MC's immaturity as opposed to more clever writing.

I'm not taking any points away from the game for it despite not being a fan myself, but there's a lot of anal focused scenes and lots of foot-related stuff as well. You can just choose the other option to avoid some of the feet stuff/anal, but plenty of anal (and a few feet) related things are forced as well. Some of the alternatives are breast related, but my God are the tongue scenes awful. While the animations are smooth, the choices for how they do them are definitely pretty confusing sometimes as well. They have nice quality models, then the rigging just flops. Another smaller thing to note is that this game, like MANY others, loves to flash the screen white on climax sometimes which is pretty annoying. I'm not really taking points off for it, but it definitely came to mind. I really wish they included an option to disable it, but at least it doesn't do it every time.

There aren't too many, but there are still typos, grammatical mistakes, and repeated words like "Your brother will go with you shopping with you instead of me" throughout, so just be aware if you're like me and that kind of thing bugs you. Luckily I'm used to it with these, but the mistakes become more plentiful further on in the story as well.

All in all, I feel like the story has a lot of wasted potential. There were some cool things, but the end felt pretty weak and I just was left feeling disappointed. I'm tempted to leave two stars, but honestly the character models are all really good and I feel it's a bit unfair since that's usually the main purpose of an AVN. While the scenes feel like they're high quality animations, the actual rigging of them is the main thing that leaves much to be desired (although there are some stand-out scenes in comparison to the rest).

An excellent supernatural corruption game that sticks the landing, despite often extraneous dialogue.

The character models are excellent. The animations are excellent. The story remains intriguing throughout. The pacing between story and sex scenes are solid. The various routes work and feel organic.

MC is granted a corrupting power by a creepy figure in his dreams. He has visions of an evil force and there is an imminent threat that involves a cryptic occult conspiracy. There is a consistent tone of unease and paranoia which escalates as the MC looks for answers. One of his love interests is directly involved with these evil forces. Who is it, and why? Should the MC be using his powers for corruption, or is that just enabling the unseen forces?

The actual plot is good, especially in the context of an Adult Ren'Py game, which tends to get lost in rote stories. The actual corruption in the game is fulfilling and fun; it doesn't feel destructive or disturbing like other games with the corruption tag. The MC, at least in my playthrough, never felt reprehensible, just confused and possibly too foolish with the powers granted to him.

The unease and dread with the dream figures is maintained throughout. So the game manages a spooky tone of horror without ever devolving into outright disturbing content. That said, the game does allow you an Evil route, which does bring with it darker consequences. I went through a few endings, and even the dark ending never felt extraneously deranged.

There's enough replayability in the choices. There are too many H games to play, so I am not in the demographic that goes through a game multiple times, but I do feel it's justified for those that enjoy that. I know that I can always come back to this and enjoy it with greater context, since all of the secrets have been revealed.

I will say that the narrative and the dialogue is often verbose. A common sin among VN authors. Less is more. Brevity is the key to wit. Get to the point.

This is among the best Ren'Py VN's on the website. I highly recommend it.

I understand it was made a while ago, but I still wish it had more animations, it would made the game even better and more "alive"

Considering how old the game is, the renders still hold up quite well! And the models are very well done.

The game itself has several differing scenes that you can miss depending on the choices you make, and there are several endings as well. However, this can be pretty easily navigated with the walkthrough provided. Each of the endings are interesting, and there is a harem ending as well which is a plus for a harem game.

Story-wise, it's your typical "main character obtains powers to influence the women around him" story with some occult/conspiracy action thrown in. I see that it's a major criticism for some reviewers but honestly, the story is serviceable. Yes, it's no masterpiece by any means but the interest of the story holds through and the game has a good balance between H-scenes and story elements, which keep the story and H-scenes interesting without making them too repetitive.

I think one of the major strengths of this game is the limited number of main love interests. It allows the game to give each character more depth and attachment, unlike some harem games where the characters are just a "pump-and-dump" deal. Also as mentioned earlier, there is a harem ending so no need to worry about having to "choose" a love interest after going through the whole game (just make sure to check the walkthrough).

Overall, the game has aged decently well and I'd definitely recommend giving the game a whirl if you like the models and are interested in a harem/incest game with some mystery mixed into it.

*p.s. the final version [v1.0.3 GOG DE Elite] has both Holidays and Lost Memories DLCs included in the main game (which are unlocked after playing through the main game) so no need to download the other two!

Decent game. I couldn't finish it though. The mc's penis was a major turn-off. Oversized like most games, but the real problem was the coloration. The thing looked like it was sickly, like someone had banded it tightly and it was about to fall off. Quite disturbing.

One of the aspects I enjoy the most of DD is the use of the music, a lot of us if not all of us have heard each tune used in this but combined with the renders and the construction of the scene I believe the atmosphere is very well made. The renders are a classic, solid work and over all enjoyable, the sex scenes aren't the best, but the build up to them is good. Sometimes the choices in a vn are mearly cosmetic at best, but in DD theres a good amount of replay value since I got two endings and still miss a few scenes. I think the only point it takes away of my enjoyment is the ending, not with the LI, but how it plays out, feels kind of rushed, some ideas don't have conclusions or characters disapear. Beyond that, I think this is a great VN, kind of a slow burn, but the amount of renders and content is very worth the playthrough.

While the graphical part of this game is generally OK (the graphics are old and a bit outdated, though gradually improving towards the end). The animations aren't bad, showing the scene from different angles. It is the plot and the writing in general, where the problem lies.

The MC is one of the worst kind I've seen in these games. He is 21 but totally immature, uninspiring and dull. He act and thinks all the time like 15 years old horny virgin teenager (actually he is a virgin for the first half of the game).
The dialogues and characters are boring as hell.
The lewd scenes in the first half are repetitive grinding, mostly when the victim is asleep. After that they become just average hardcore porn.
There is no cuddles or anything after the sex for the most of the game. The characters just cum, say "OK, time to go, I have lots of things to do, seeya later".
The plot is about magic and fantasy, I accept that, but it has too many holes.
The girls in the game are kinda hot (though the models look too plastic), but they somehow do not inspire any emotional attachment.
All in all, the game is just for faps. There are better completed incest games, even of the same age with similar graphics but much better writing.

Review: Good game. I like the character designs, the premise is fun (mind control is always good for lewdness), and the black shadow man is very charming (reminds me the man god from jobless reincarnation).
Game as a whole has very much charm and love in it, I appriciate it.
With that said it has the common problems of western 3D games, the backgrounds are not cohesive, textures are low detail, poses are stiff. Camera angles are also not much to my enjoyment, I think if the developer commited to point of view camera angles it would be better.
Still, I enjoy it. (Please correct me if my English is not very good, I am trying!)

While Dreams of Desire begins strong on the story department, with a mysterious supernatural plot, it fails to keep the intrigue going and ends up losing steam fast as progression goes on, as the story is too ambitious for its own good.
Writing a fantasy story without losing the reader´s interest is a skill that requires a lot of try and error, there´s no other way to circumvent this, you need to keep writing different approaches at the genre until you write something that yourself actually enjoy reading while keeping your ambition on check, as no artist, ever, has made his magnum opus at first try.

A little bit more of hair color variety would have been awesome, without redheads this world is doomed mate.
There´s not a lot of character development going on, except on two of the main heroines, one of which has more of a plot twist than real development.

Scenes are just enough, wish there could have been a lot more per character, some interactions with them are decision bound, which may not be clear unless you play with a walkthrough mod or a guide (or the classic try and error). This might limit your first approach with the VN if you play it without any help.

There´s an ending for each of the three heroines, a bad ending, a perfect ending and a secret one...All these are determined by certain desicions that may look trivial and inconsequential on the long run, like not being an asshole with someone you actually care about.
Too bad theres no solo ending for aunt Jenna, that woman deserved more.

Dream of Desire is a good game overall, it may not be legendary, but its certainly entertaining.
Main story didnt managed to keep me hooked to be honest, but characters and animations are top quality. Wish more time would have been given to develop the story a lot more, as this had a great potential to be memorable, at first the pace feels a bit slow but in the end it feels a bit rushed.
But I dont regret playing this VN at all.

This game does not live up to the hype. It starts really well, a good corruption concept, I do like games that put some kind of magic in the story, something to be more exciting than real life... and the renders are great, I really enjoyed the 'landlady'. But these are the only positives. The dialogs are ok, not great, not terrible, ok. So maybe 2 stars and a half.

The truth is the game starts well, but I couldn't get pass chapter 3, it's so bad. I don't recommend.

This is an excellent game featuring hypnosis and incest. There's a corruption element too but it happens too suddenly and magically (pretty much a magic creature touches the women and suddenly they want your cock). However, the models are fantastic and there's a body type for every type of gamer. The game features a clueless teenager (this has now become a trope now after all these years) in a world around a mysterious organization focused on forbidden magic. If you love hypnosis and incest, give this game a shot.
