-_- pretty sure the normal started with not xp till the end or xp while in combat before becoming xp after combat, there's even some game where you couldn't get loot before ending the dungeon and some in which you couldn't change gear anywhere but in the base ...seems like a lot of grinding for little gain. The concept of no exp's until you complete a dungeon is a bit strange.
Yea I am stupid I must have had 0 ranged moves or just didnt realise an enemy was protecting. On another note though idk if this is just me but the plant dungeons 'harder' fights seem easier than having to face 5-6 enemies with half of them having aoe attacks.Am I dumb or does the positioning system only have downsides for you but not the enemy? Like I can position my light fairy in the backline and have me and a water slime in the front line but ill still get my fairy sniped by a caster when the guide to the combat grid says backlines cant be targeted until all front line units are dead.
The old combat did suffer from rng and excessive crowd control. Edit: yea im done with this game I cant suffer any more rng roles of missing an enemy with my summons, which I cant even have strengthened without either losing one making it impossible for me to kill the hydra for lack of dps (I already have the max charisma besides grinding for a possible +1 I might be able to get with the essences but when the game rewards your grind with half the essence rewards after a certain point its miserable). Went a magician build and even got what i thought was a strong staff with 50 magic power but when the enemy can 1 shot my tanks and I miss 1 or 2 attack and im dead then its not really that rewarding of an experience. Idk what i expected considering the level of quality of games being put on this site can vary heavily but damn I dont think the creator tested the combat all that much. At least I can say i tried...
