Nah, it's just needless prose. Some people think they look smarter, and some people think people are smart, when they use thesaurus and modify the syntax. More often than not, linguistic devices are abused to obscure flaws in the actual plot.

1. What's the mind control in this, and how prominent is it/will it be?

2. Is the writing in the game as... "disjointed" as it is in the description? I see a bunch of spelling and grammar/punctuation issues (and I'm not talking about French words like Princesse, but mispelled words like fazing/phasing), combined with what appears to be an attempt at way more flowery language than necessary, which is usually not a good combination.
