I don't mind if the game is too easy or too hard I care about my boner staying alive, and I can't do that when all I get is game overs. This is a common trope in generic H games and an old debated topic; there have been devs that have a stick up their ass about difficulty needing to be super important for some reason. I sure hope you aren't one of them 'cause it's a red flag for anyone who's been playing H games for a few years by now and dealt with this shit with multiple different devs. A game only needs to have a failure state to be considered a game by definition, and that definition is flexible and broad. Just by losing is enough that can be rewarding in it's own way. Game overs are a lazy way of doing it, similar to beating a boss and getting a reward HCG, old and overused methods of interactions.

Including mechanics that give the player more hentai gameplay and opportunities for your creative input is the best solution, things such as captured and rescue situation events, consequences of being preggo such as a character more susceptible to being raped and captured if used before giving birth, a time limit on the preggo before a mandatory birth scenes, a returning to the ship event, etc, etc. instead of giving video game difficulty some unhinged importance when in fact no one gives a fuck about another indie pokemon experience in it's barebones aspect. I'd just go play pokemon or the fangames like pokemon uranium if I did. We came here for the H game not a game with H, please understand. Some devs like Breed Labratory used to do game overs too, game is infinitely better now that the preggo scenes can actually happen along with a birth scene
I'd agree with the part where pregnancy scenes should be able to happen without gaming over, but in the interests of preserving difficulty and the rougelite aspect of the game, maybe adjust things so that they recover and are usable again after a period of time. I still don't think it's good to completely write off the value of having an actual game to play though. An example I can think of here is in tainted space, theyre trying to pretty closely emulate classic rpg systems, but they have intentionally left out any semblance of a charisma stat. The logic given here is 'players are here for the porn, there will never be a reason to not have charisma at maximum, so we can simply treat all scenes as if the player has done that already'

With a monster collecting game, I think most players will be there for the 'get all the stuff and see all the scenes for each mon' so punishing players for wanting to see their scout get bred by em all might not be the right choice.

Maybe allow the current scout to get bred by party mon, and be replaced by another scout for a period of time, then become usable again since it wasn't a 'wild' loss

The gameplay aspect isn't being neglected, it's simply being refitted to suit our needs as a hentai mindset first policy. The pokemon combat sex gameplay is fun after all, I wouldn't have even noticed this H game if it was a generic HRPG. TiTs isn't really a good comparison, or any HTML/Text based H game for that matter to H games with actual HCG content, as these types of H games have the luxury of neglecting all the hard labor and time that comes with making art assets and visually drawn out landscapes. They can focus on UI/writing aspect and have the player use their imagination for the heavy lifting, for the most part. It would be like comparing a visual novel to a platformer.

There was another pokemon theme'd H game that finished in Japan land, I forget the name, Sugar Star made it iirc. There was also the tentacle breeder pokemon H game that sadly never got far again from japan, and some other one on this site with more a focus on actual pokemons.

i'd be all for it but only really in the same way the fem ones are

of course, I believe that sort of thing is not appreciated by most here so I try not to push it much.
Playing as a trap/femboy and using the Pokemon-esque egg system as a way to include m-preg content would be fucking incredible, though I'm only saying this as another vote in affirmation of the idea. I also enjoy futa-fem based content just as much, so it's not something I'm gonna die on a hill over.

It would be scratching a very underutilized niche for H-RPGs though. (No, I do not count all of the sissy VNs on this site. They are not RPGs, or even remotely similar to anything like this. Please don't start an argument.)

Just making a note to the dev that I'm happy this is staying focused on defeats/bad ends. I'm not against in-game/mid-game lewds being more accessible, but there's nothing wrong or 'lazy' about game overs including sexual scenes. A roguelite is the kind of game you want to make, and making that inherently sexual is perfectly fine -- it fits the theme quite well.

Unrelated personal opinion stuff ahead; I do hope F/F content makes it's way in with the "pokemon" themselves in the form of like, scissoring (perhaps egg laying in this fashion?) or something. It feels like such a shame to see many of the more interesting or otherwise bomber female "pokemon" in the game but then they just act like males instead (i will take what I can get tho), but that's just me. Great game, keep up the good work!

Been playing for... what I would say... "a bit". Maybe just a few hours or so? Most of it has been spent on resetting the game over and over. (I don't like losing)

So I thought, "Maybe I should try leveling up."... turns out there isn't that kind of mechanic in this game, so winning really is empty as fuck unless you're tryna "Get them all".

The option for "You have to look for fruits to get stronger" kinda thing kinda pissed me off because I kinda spent a long while trying to look for them, even the evolution system is VERY annoying.

The game is honestly information starving as fuck. I had to look into here to know shit and I don't think I know everything I need to know because I don't even know where tf I can find fruits.

And as much as I can see... the fruits system seems to just be essentially similar to an EXP system... so I'll be honest, just do the leveling up system... maybe make the numbers a bit lower to avoid the "Leveling up is very tedious"... kinda schitck as you called it, because looking for the fruits have been... "PISSING ME OFF" to say, in the most calmed manner.

The grabbing/battle sex system is annoying, the "You have to lose to fuck the Monster" system is annoying. Like, can't we just fuck them in the get-go? Not in the form of offering yourself, but like, fucking anytime, anywhere. The color red has been my brand so I would heavily prefer to stay as the character I initially chose.

Also, the mons' designs are wack, I get the "MMmm juicy hips and big tits and big ass and chub and beautiful face very hot" yes, yes... but really it gets boring, maybe the accursed game of "League of Legends" can help inspire some designs (Some monster designs there have been attractive, spooky and mesmerizing... don't believe me? Kog'Maw may look gross but he's kinda adorable, Bel'Veth is a good mix of "Mmm, she hot" and "OH FUCK SHE SCARY" kinda shit.)? And like, some mons kinda just look like straight up PokeMons. The obvious Charizard and Blastoise...... only design I HEAVILY fell in love with is literally the fucking samurai plant one, name was wack but eh... cool ass Plant Samurai. Basically, we need monster diversity in here.

Following information might be irrelevant, but I reset everytime I get grabbed, yes, I'm THAT petty. Which might've fueled my "The battle sex mechanic is fucking annoying" by a large margin. I'm a huge fan of virgin runs, you see. Losing all the damage I dealt to that one bitch of a monster is very... "PISSINGMEOFF" inducing (Again, in the calmest way possible) just because this bitch was HORNY, and like, as someone here said (I forgor the username) the battle sex is horrible, in a sense, having to rely on RNG to decide whether you get fucked or not is very annoying, maybe put some other way to change that (Can we get a virgin run pleaser achievement here too?)

Alright so my thoughts on the debate about game overs and the general state of the game:
- Sex with wild mons leading to a game over is terrible by itself. And the game difficulty argument doesn't help it due to the fact that most people will avoid losing by default, there is no games on the market that encourage losing it's only the porn games that have this fascination with putting all their eggs in that basket and calling it a day while discarding the idea that by default most will avoid the content they came for unknowingly. Add other means of getting H content to offset it and it won't be a big deal anymore
- Speaking of avoiding - the combat encounters need to provide something, supplies, loot, money, experience(though that won't be usefull with how the game handles stat improvement) otherwise there is no point in engaging in combat once you get the mons you want in your team
- Information given to player is lackluster which is very bad considering that evolution stones are crucial to getting more firepower. All the game says is that you have to scavenge for them which could mean they may drop from enemies or pop out of chests. Not a single combat encounter gave me anything and chests don't reset which means if the game decides to give me 4 rock evolution stones and I have no rock mon I'm fucked untill I find a new chest I haven't opened yet and even then I may not get what I need
- I understand that it's supposed to be a rougelike and the stone problem may just be how it's supposed to be, but other points are in no way redeemed by the genre this game tries to be

As of right now there isn't really a point to spending much time in the game both for the game aspect due to lack of end goal that the player might pursue and for the porn aspect due to it being tied mostly to game overs that discourage going after that content in the first place

Okay. I AGREE, I think I need to get contraceptives into the game ASAP. Contraceptives mean that mating with monsters becomes a tactical decision. With contraceptive hit points, called barrier points (BP) you can avoid your next impregnation, guaranteed, but lose a BP each time you WOULD be impregnated. Grapple out a tough evolved monster, and have your own party finish the fight. I also agree that fights should have more interesting loot. The original plan was for fight loot to act like a bag you could pick prizes from, but I couldn't get it working for the first release. I think each area should have a loot bag, and randomized prize pool of unevolved monsters and items you can pick from. You can pick a new monster OR X number of items. Finally, I think the game needs a wiki, and some forward thrust. I am unsympathetic to explaining everything to the player immediately, I remember playing games and figuring them out. I put chests, a fruit and some grass near where you start, and an area you can go into.

Does the satyr on the tree stump respawn btw? and can we interact apart from scaring it off?
She's just going to be a timid little shit for now. I will also add journals soon, and other things that hint at a wider world and areas the game will expand into. THANK YOU for all the bug reporting btw I fixed up the endgame sprites to properly display if a scout is currently preg or not. I will fix the multiple items usage problem today.

Thanks, I will keep it up. I'm surprised how many people want F/F.

Make it more easy ffs
It's already pretty easy for people playing the mechanics. An evolved pokemon like Blasturtle with good / exceptional genetics and the right fruits is basically impossible to damage to regens so much HP per turn she can't be brought down.

Fuck I agree, I want more creepy monsters. I am keeping it pretty vanilla for now. Artists like NEURODYNE, or the whole thread of XENO girls and monsterous monster girls on /aco/. Sadly, it's VERY DIFFICULT to express detail in 128 pixel, hopefully when I someday uprez and redesign the monsters in 256 (by a professional artist) we can get more, characterful designs. Sadly, it's VERY DIFFICULT to express detail in 128 pixel, hopefully when I someday uprez and redesign the monsters in 256 (by a professional artist) we can get more, characterful designs. Since I spent some time with this game I wanted to chuck my two cents into the discussion...
First off I wanted to start off saying that I've always wanted a game like this and I'm very enthusiastic about you developing it, very solid start. Of course its very rough due to its early state, but nonetheless, very nice.

Everyone is talking about sex scenes being defeat only, and while I think that's usually not a good way to do H games there's the stable so. Well its not a true game over. But I was thinking, since there's a "Obedience" (which can be lowered) why not have the ability to sort of "patch up" obedience? For example, you mentioned eventually being able to camp through the night, maybe you can also take X actions whilst camping. Like heal a monster some without consuming potions, do some sort of other non-breeding (or potentially risking being bred) to up their obedience some. This could keep some stress on time and resources due to consuming food or supplies to camp, while simultaneously making player decide if they want to risk fielding a disobedient monster vs fielding a injured monster. Also would open a bunch of avenues for other types of sex scenes, if you want to include as such, that is.

Also combat isn't that hard tbh. If you encounter a evolved monster early, just offer yourself to get it out of combat and have your team beat the small fries before Scout gets bred. You rarely find more than 1 evolved monster in the first area outside of the cave.

Oh, I know others and the dev have said, but yeah tooltips and a 'dex for information are highly needed to make some of the mechanics alot more clear.
Personally I wish there was a way to speed up combat, even if by just accelerating the speed the messages play at. "Faster monster goes first" "player turn" "choose your action" eats up only a few seconds. But those add up fast.


Anyways, best of luck on this amazing little project

Sadly, it's VERY DIFFICULT to express detail in 128 pixel, hopefully when I someday uprez and redesign the monsters in 256 (by a professional artist) we can get more, characterful designs. Personally, I like the pixel aesthetic, maybe keep the pixelation but maybe just add some more pixels? Similar with how PokeMon did, the art style on PokeMon peaked in the pixel era, maybe doing the same can help.

And it may not be such a hot take but people like well-made Pixel art. Some eroges' art-styles have also stuck with the pixel art-style and still manage to make creepy/attractive/scary pixel-art.
