well here's one thing for ya its completely overhauled from the other seriesI love this dev's story-telling so much that even the side-series are worth playing despite their horrible mechanics but I worry about Thirst's combat and skills trees etc etc..
Anyone got info about Thirst's game mechanics?
pretty much the same skill tree as the other series, but thirst characters have 2 path of skill tree that you want to unlock to get a special ultimate skill in each path. but you cant unlock 2 ultimate move, meaning you can only get 1 because the lack of skill points. you can use both path at the same time to use combination of skills.I love this dev's story-telling so much that even the side-series are worth playing despite their horrible mechanics but I worry about Thirst's combat and skills trees etc etc..

If the paths are clear then it's okay, I kinda dislike searching for the perfect combination like Blight forced you to do, other minor peeves were things like the teammates at Kludge (hated not being able to recruit them all) and the lack of clear instructions at the post-game but those are long-term companions with this series.pretty much the same skill tree as the other series, but thirst characters have 2 path of skill tree that you want to unlock to get a special ultimate skill in each path. but you cant unlock 2 ultimate move, meaning you can only get 1 because the lack of skill points. you can use both path at the same time to use combination of skills.
from what i played with MTL the post game stuff is still like that but the teammates are all recruitable by story so you don't miss out of them so far... don't know if the future updates will bring more but that's the case so far.If the paths are clear then it's okay, I kinda dislike searching for the perfect combination like Blight forced you to do, other minor peeves were things like the teammates at Kludge (hated not being able to recruit them all) and the lack of clear instructions at the post-game but those are long-term companions with this series.
Colony by far. What's the best sequel game in your opinion?

Sorry I haven't expressed myself clearly, I meant things like the recruits for Kludge's base not your party and other stuff you can't have in a single playthrough are a small dislike of mine. If there aren't reincarnations then this game looks more polished than even Kludge.from what i played with MTL the post game stuff is still like that but the teammates are all recruitable by story so you don't miss out of them so far... don't know if the future updates will bring more but that's the case so far.
Blight. Colony is a close second, but Blight takes the spot for me with how you could change your party around so freely. What's the best sequel game in your opinion?

For story, Colony takes the cake, strong opening chapter and the rest of the story and even post-game remained compelling. Loved that they don't give the answers flat out so you have to figure it out yourself and there are still a lot of questions that you just have to speculate on.What's the best sequel game in your opinion?

To this day I still wonder about TrauFor story, Colony takes the cake, strong opening chapter and the rest of the story and even post-game remained compelling. Gameplaywise though, I personally found Awake to be really fun, 10 characters with their own roles and gameplay style so it was fun trying out different team comps. Also the ending for the main story was nice, actually gave the player character some agency.
That’s because Colony had the longest planning stage by a large margin. To this day I still wonder about TrauThat's a strength other Sequels didn't have since most of their mysteries are related to the Age of Myth (AKA non-translated games) so they come off as a bit weak. Colony has a weaker link with the Age and there's our favorite Transcendent that makes every situation hilarious. You don't have permission to view the spoiler content. Log in or register now.
I consider Awake to be game play wise at least a bit better than Blight but vastly inferior to Colony and Kludge, while 10 characters can be fun their skill-trees are boring AF since you only have to pick their best skills and status resistances, reset and repeat depending on the fight.
Colony is peak with best story and cast. Party may not have been as flexible as other games but it's the best designed. Love the hub and general vibe of the game. Has way better OST than the prior two games. What's the best sequel game in your opinion?
