OK, file this under 'other project ideas'. This post is mainly for record-keeping purposes.

I have an idea for a game. It's a cross between a boardgame and a reality tv show that features lots of progressively depraved sexy fun time as the episodes/game days progress.

Players would form a team, formed around an 'archetype' (Dad, Brother, Mom, Boss, Uncle, etc.). Each archtype would then pick four other team members (Daughters, sons, wife maybe, secretaries/underlings, slutty friends, you get the idea). Team members might be sexually experienced or have V-cards. Points are earned at the end of each day based on what each team member did that day, which is then 'voted' on by the audience.

Each team leader has a pool of influence points, which are used to 'convince' other team members to do things. At the end of each day, team members (including the team leader) earn skill points based on whatever they did that day. Note that after day 1, activities will cost less influence points based on how far 'behind' your team is. Members on lower ranked teams become more desperate, and are more willing to push their 'personal envelopes' to help their team get back on top...

The grand prize for this 'game' is some ridiculous amount (say 1 Million game dollars, split between team members), with lesser amounts awarded to the other teams based on final rank.

There's a bunch of other details here, but essentially the game starts out pretty tame (flashing, flirting, etc.) on the first day, but by the final day yeah there'll be orgies, etc...


Implementation:
This is the tricky part. This would be the most fun if an 'online multiplayer' version could be made, but I have no such skills. So as a single player game, you'd have multiple computer-controlled teams (essentially whose actions would be determined randomly in some fashion with not quite an AI, but through 'charts').

As for the team building aspect, this could be the most fun.
Examples.
the 'DMD style' team
- Dad (team leader), Daughter, two Slutty Friends, Secretary from work

The 'Horny brother' team
- Brother (team leader), two Sisters, Mom, best friend (think Big Brother or Dreams of Desire for the cast)

The 'Office' team
- Boss (team leader), Personal Assistant, Slutty Secretary, Sister, Male Coworker.

The 'Uncle' team
- Uncle (team leader), Niece, Slutty Friend, Personal Assistant, Male Coworker

You get the idea.

There'd also be 'bonus' activities for each day, chosen by the 'tv audience', that could earn bonus influence points for teams that engage in them that day...

Because this'd have a BUNCH of choices for characters (dozens) to build teams with (or even if you had 'pre-built' teams to choose from), yeah you'd either 'economize' on renders, just showing the 'climax' renders for each team member's activity for the day, or you'd have to generate a LOT of renders. You could also limit the number of teams involved, but where's the fun in that?

Anyways, just something that came to me as I was sleeping. Game mechanics on this would be a bit of a pain to set up, but it'd be fun watching the 'results' of each day's choices by the various teams. I'm scrawling down a bunch more notes about this, but just wanted to add this to my 'to do eventually project list'...

I may play around with this at some point, but this would likely need to be a 'team effort' of sorts, especially if there was to be a multiplayer implementation of some sort. Maybe someday...

So, now that D's cherry has (finally after an eternity) been popped in DMD, I guess there's no point in continuing my comic...

I'M KIDDING OF COURSE!!!

So, as some of you know, about the only thing that fascinates me more than rendering is tweaking gameplay balance in games with an intriguing design. So while I THOUGHT I was done with BK tweaking, well I lied...

BUT, there's a silver lining to all this. I still wasn't entirely happy with how how I had Part 2 of Enthralled scripted currently. A couple of things still felt a little forced. Well, in a waking dream, I came up with what I think is a better approach to the events in Part 2, and I also thought of an amusing ender scene for later. Yeah, I won't be rendering THAT one for a while, but it still makes me happy. I like leaving things on an uplifting note, plus maybe having a mini plot twist just for fun.

Part of me still wants Squeenie to transform into Fabio (male model from back in the day) at the end of the story, but that's just silly! Oops, I revealed that (older) idea, guess I can't use that one now...

So, short form, still plugging away, slowly, at Enthralled Part 2 (when not focused on BK renpy code). I appreciate your continued patience, I'll get 'er done eventually.

Also, thank you to the people that just stumbled across Enthralled. I appreciate your kudos!

In the meantime, maybe give DMD a spin to hold you over, if you've been holding off for the 'big V' event.

12/31/18... my expensive rendering system is currently a paperweight. It's a dual 1080 laptop, and currently I can't even access the bios. It's hanging on the boot screen.

I've tried a few things, but no dice. Apparently this is a 'recurring issue' with MSI laptops, so I may not be buying MSI again... It's long past warranty, and yeah sending in a laptop with porn on it for repair... ummm yeah.

I'm pretty sure that my drives are intact, due to the nature of the failure. I'll need to get an NVME enclosure though for one of them (and a HDD enclosure, which should be available locally). I'll check to see if my local stores have NVME (not SATA) to USB m2 enclosures, but that'll lkely be a Newegg thing.

So, I'm dead in the water for a few days, while I decide what to do. I may go the 'cheap desktop' route for now, as 1080 laptops are hella expensive, and dual 1080's yeah that's very expensive, and mostly MSI... plus supposedly new mobile chips are coming down the pike fairly soon...

I managed to get about 16 months out of the 'now mostly dead' laptop. The one I'm typing on now isn't well suited to rendering (13.3", AMD integrated graphics), plus the HDD is full in any case... plus there's the 16+ months of daz stuff that I've acquired since 'retiring' this laptop that isn't on this thing in the first place.

I did backups recently, but it's been a couple of weeks so the latest stuff for my comics... well it'll be annoying but I can work around those if need be. Hopefully the external NVME enclosure enables me to access my latest work when it arrives.

So I'm looking at another computer for rendering. I wish things had held out a bit longer. 7nm AMD is on the way in the coming months, even though I still would be buying Nvidia graphics. AND WTF? 1080 Ti's are hella expensive right now (over 1100 dollars US...). I could make do with a 1080 or even a 1070 maybe, but yeah, not good timing...

Dual 1080's, now useless to me, in my mostly dead laptop...

So, I'm sad, and won't be sharing much over the next little bit until I come up with a solution. Ahh well...

There were a couple of things I was going to grab at Daz and Rendo today (year end sale), but alas I forgot about those, and was troubleshooting my laptop all day. So I missed out on some good deals. Fortunately, they were 'want those' not 'need those', so I guess there will be other sales....

Yeah, 2019 isn't off to a good start so far for me.

So, I think that I'm going to do a Mini ITX build to 'hold me over' until 7nm Threadripper (or maybe 7nm EPYC) drops.

I'm probably going to go with this case, the Silverstone RV202B:

The reviewers are liking how well these cases are performing cooling wise, so that's a plus. The RV203 is very well liked, but it doesn't have the internal DVD slot... which is why I'm picking the RV202 instead. I can just 'scavenge' the Blu Ray player out of my $4000 MSI brick, and transplant the drives maybe, so it won't be a total loss. Gonna miss having a laptop with a mechanical keyboard. The chiclet keys on my 'backup' laptop are a definite downgrade, especially since they aren't backlit like my MSI was...

I suppose that I could scavenge the four 16 GB sticks of laptop memory as well, but I'd need another laptop to put those in, if they played nice in the 'future' laptop that is.

Yeah, I'll only have one graphics card, but since 1080 Ti prices are approaching 2080 Ti prices at this point... yeah...

Not sure on the graphics card yet. The 2080 Ti WOULD have been a no brainer except for the reports of issues... the RTX Titan is rather pricey, sure the 24 GB of VRAM would be awesome, but I'm hesitant to spend that much on a graphics card...

Oh, and 8 core Ryzen something something (2xxx series...). There's also the 2400G option, which would allow me to use the onboard Vega graphics to drive the viewport in Daz.

I'd love to 'downgrade' to Windows 7 to avoid the Windows 10 VRAM tax, but driver support would be an issue. So, I'll ponder that as I pick out the other parts for my build. Linux doesn't play particularly nice with Daz Studio. Some have managed it, but it's not a straightforward process. If Daz Studio had 64 bit native Linux support, maybe...

Back on topic, This Mini ITX build would be a good 'entertainment system' for later. I've been wanting to do a HTPC build for a while for my entertainment center, so I'll still have use for it once I build my 'proper' rendering system. This is more of an 'XBox clone' build aesthetically, as the RV202 cools a bit better vertically vs horizontally according to the reviewers, but I think I have a spot in my entertainment center for a vertical PC... just have to take out a few CD rack holders that I'm not really using at this point anyways.

So, yeah, still pissed at MSI for the startup issue. I COULD send it back to CS without my drives for repair (I don't want to share my data, particularly my penchant for porn games...) , but I'm not sure if they'd be willing or able to insert a M2 or SATA drive long enough to fix the corrupted BIOS, assuming they could reset the bios in the first place. Yeah, it's been effectively bricked. I can get to the logo on my screen, but that's when the laptop freezes, before it tries to access any of the drives. And I can't use the various keys to get into the BIOS either, as the system is frozen. Since I can't even get into the BIOS, a bios flash isn't an option...

My research has turrned up that this is an ongoing issue with several MSI laptop models, with a number of users experiencing gradually increasing boot times (mine had hit about an hour at one point), and in some cases eventual bricking, with the suggested fixes only working temporarily. You'd think that, after it affecting so many of their laptop models (even if it was hit or miss) that they'd have a patch or something for that to share, but NOOOO, just the usual 'reinstall Windows 10, hope that works for ya'... or 'try toggling these settings', or 'update your BIOS', or 'do a remove power and battery reset', any of which of course only temporarily solves the problem for the users that have been reporting this issue. There are several Youtube videos about this issue...

I was quite happy with this laptop (MSI GT83VR) for the amount of time I was using it. It wasn't perfect, but modern laptops with mechanical keyboards are a rarity to begin with, and also the 18.3" screen. It was a pleasure working on it, even with the minor quirks (power cable plug situation could have been better). But I won't be replacing it. And I'm probably done with MSI for the forseeable future.

I went looking for that $6000+ liquid cooled dual 1080 laptop from Acer or Asus (one of those) yesterday, but it looks like it isn't being made anymore, plus that's a hella price tag (the MSI was a bit less expensive, but still quite expensive), even though it's a cool laptop. I'm averse to buying anything used, so I'll probably do a laptop/desktop hybrid work setup in the future.

It was fun while it lasted! Might also be an 'object lesson' for those considering going the laptop route with Daz rendering. I wouldn't recommend that route unless you are really hardheaded. Being able to transfer components to other systems if something fails is a BIG plus for a desktop system. With laptops, you lose pretty much everything if the laptop fails. About the only thing you can scavenge are the drives and maybe the memory...

Anyways, enough venting and musing, I need to get back to shopping for replacement hardware!

Without a case or power supply, not much I can do at the moment. More stuff should arrive Friday, not sure on the M2 SATA enclosure (Friday would be nice, but might not arrive until next week).

I also have a 2 TB HDD that I'll probably transfer over to this system as well. I was splitting my various files between this drive and the SSD on my bricked laptop. This system case has dedicated 'spots' for 3 data drives (one large, two small). That'll leave me one more 'drive slot' for later. As mentioned before, there's also a slot for my slim Blu Ray player.

There's an M2 slot on the back side of the motherboard, which will be in SATA mode for this build.

I found some instructions on how I might possibly be able to reflash the BIOS on my bricked laptop, but I'll need to track down the full 'original' BIOS file to overwrite the corrupted BIOS, not just the 'update file' for the BIOS. I'll look into that once I get this new system running.

So I continue to wait on parts...

The case, case handle(!), 650W EVGA power supply (with modular cables), and my CD/Blu Ray cable have arrived. And sooner than expected!



Guess what I'll be doing for the next few hours...


Edit: Well, it starts up, and the RGB memory does a pretty rainbow thing. Unfortunately, my HDMI cable connector (for my 1080p TV) is too wide for the HDMI connecter on the motherboard (wtf?), so I have no idea if things are working or not. The CPU fan spins, though, and I'm not hearing any beeping noises, so that's probably a good thing...

I'll share more later. I need to go monitor shopping later today....

I spent a bit of time working out the cable management (SFF case). I'm glad that I picked the SFX power supply and not the SFX-L one (The 'L' version would have been 25 MM longer). It looked like there was a lot of room behind the power supply when I first put the motherboard and PS in, but then that was gobbled up quickly by various cables....

Of course, now I want an SATA power extender cable (the third SATA connector is about 6-8" too far away from drive #3), and maybe a 6 pin to (single) Molex, so that I don't have a bunch of 'unused' power connectors taking up space, but DIY computer shops kinda died off where I live. No Micro Center, etc. nearby, just a couple of big box stores that don't stock that sort of thing. So I'll probably have to make do and order some more cables online for later...

Still waiting on the GTX 1080 Ti to land on my doorstep (and the M2 SATA to USB enclosure), but as I noted earlier, I have a Ryzen APU (2400G), so I already have 'onboard' graphics. I'll probably install the 1080 Ti once I get everything else worked out, and get the software/OS installed and working to my satisfaction.

Linux is tempting, but Daz doesn't have Linux support, so more of that 18% Windows 10 VRAM tax for me...

Followup on my last updates:

I've gotten my new system more or less up to speed. It renders a bit slower than my dual 1080s did, but on the plus side having the AMD integrated graphics driving the monitor, leaving the 1080 Ti completely free for rendering, was a good choice. The viewport is much snappier now (not sure why it wasn't this snappy before with the 1080s), and using Iray mode in the viewport is a much more pleasant and responsive experience now. Before, trying to adjust poses while in Iray mode had serious lag issues, now, while there is still a bit of lag, well I'm only waiting for a couple of seconds for things to resolve, and the sliders for posing are a lot less jumpy than before. Still not perfect, but it's workable now.

Also, I'm not sure, but my 1080 Ti is reporting over 11,000 MB of ram in the render progress window (it's a 11 GB card). So I don't know if I'm avoiding the Windows 10 VRAM tax yet, but it'd be cool if I did. The Nvidia control panel won't let me make adjustments to the card (says it's not hooked up to a monitor), but the Zotac overclocking Utility can still access the card, and I can adjust the temp thresholds for the various fan speed levels. I bumped up the fan speed curve significantly, as I like to have the card maintain lower temps while rendering.

So, in short, the new system is up and running.

I think I successfully transferred all of my installed Daz files over to the new system (as I had hoped, the SSD and HDD from my laptop were still intact), and I'll find out soon enough if I missed anything. I think I have the new cameo character dialed in reasonably close now, and will probably do a couple more minor tweaks to her before I get back to working on the next few Enthralled panels.

At least I'm finally back to working on renders and render related stuff again! Feels good, two plus weeks without rendering has been an eternity! Well, I did do a 'sample' render on my tiny laptop to show someone a Daz asset, but I'm not counting that one... CPU only renders, yeah I avoid those as much as possible!

Also archiving this. Reworked the textures to make the paint more glossy, and reworked the girl a bit. Iray is doing a weird jaggie thing to her legs though, which I'd normally fix in post, but I wanted to show the issue. I ended up reworking the textures and texture shaders several times to get to this point, which isn't nearly as bad as some other attempts that I rendered and examined earlier today. This is the second time I've seen Daz struggle with rendering a texture map, resulting in this weirdness, it's pretty rare actually.

So I showed off this house in a few of my recent renders. It's something that I've frankensteined together from a few different models. It's built mostly around a few of the Tesla3Dcorp rooms (the Contemporary series), since they are designed to match and mate up with each other, but I also added a separate kitchen and living room, based on the 'source art' for my crossover comic. Plus I needed to add a roof, which I borrowed from yet another model and modified appropriately. It's taken me a while to get it to this point...



Here's an aerial view, which shows the lot which the house is sitting on. A different home used to be sitting here, so I had to make a few adjustments. The tennis court used to be a pool, but that pool was huge and didn't fit my vision of what this house will be used for. The lot is part of a subdivision with other homes, so visiting the neighbors to use their pool is still an option. Plus I'll probably move some of the other characters into another house 'down the street' as it were.

The Viper is just for fun. I don't think it'll be staying, but the street is a 'straight shot' so it could theoretically land and take off... the neighbors might be annoyed though!

I'm still putting the final touches on this, then I can get back to working on story panels for Ehthralled. I'll most likely be re-using this location in my Consent storyline seeing that I put so much work into it. although the MC in Consent lives in a completely different house, so this place will be for some other characters. Kelby and Mitzi perhaps? Might be a bit too rich for them. Angel maybe... well that's in the future, so no need to worry about it now.

I also need to find the 'ideal' HDRI for the lighting. I love the lighting of the HDRI I'm using now, but it's 'not to scale' with the rather large peninsula that these lots sit on.

I could locate the MC's house down the street though. There are 7 lots to work with, with six (formerly seven) essentially identical houses, so swapping out a house on another lot would be no big thing. I just like having a residential street to work with - that'd be a pain to build entirely by hand. And it's on a peninsula of sorts, and I had some boating stuff planned for Consent.

Anyways, enough blah blah. Still plugging away at stuff, felt the need to share.

My 2000th Post!

I've been working on a special render just for this occasion, showcasing a number of characters I've used in fanart and personal art over the last couple of years, plus a few that I haven't shared here as of yet. Some are premade characters from the Daz3D and Renderosity stores, a few are from art assets threads, and a number of them are 'custom' characters that I've dialed in.

So yeah, I've been hammering away at what is probably by far my most ambitious render to date, well resource wise at least. It's taken a bit longer than planned, and I'm going to need to do this pic in multiple passes, as I can only render say 5-9 characters at a time depending on variables...

I still need to fine tune a few poses and such, but here's an 'in Daz Studio' screenshot showing what I'm attempting...

2) I like nekkid chicks!

Roth still has his vest on though... he's self conscious about his midriff!

Once I've fine tuned a few poses and expressions, then this should be ready for the rendering thing. Note that it takes around 90 minutes just to load this scene into Daz Studio on my 'interim rendering' machine...

If I counted right, it looks like I have 67 individuals in this setup, including Penty and Tackle. I dream of someday having a system with powerful enough graphics that I can do this in one pass and only have it take a couple of hours, but as it stands yeah I'm going to have to do this in multiple passes...

I just realized that I forgot about Fluffy and Bubbles... not sure if I can shoehorn both of them in, but I"m pondering that at the moment. Here's a pic of those two (not sure if I've shared this one on this forum as of yet).



I've also not included a few other characters. I've done a couple of Big Brother fanart renders, but I don't have any particular attachment to those gals. EvoGirl (she's my solar panel robot girl) isn't included either, and I'm sure there's a few others, such as Elena, Jennifer and Georgina from DMD.. So yeah, the above 'group shot' doesn't include ALL of the F95Zone oriented characters I've done. Plus I don't want to widen the frame on that shot anymore or spend too much time on this piece, and I need to draw a line somewhere...

Note that all of these characters have either appeared in renders I've done/shared, or are characters that are part of my Consent storyline, that game that I'll get to someday...

I'm thinking a 128 core/256 thread 7nm dual socket Epyc system might be able to render this in one go in a somewhat reasonable amount of time. It'd be slower than a GPU render, but with that many threads it'd probably have a reasonable rendering time at least. Those CPUs aren't out yet, and that'd be one expensive system to buy just for this render. As it stands, I'm guessing 9 to 10 separate renders, combined in Photoshop, might be needed to pull this off as an Iray render.

I have another post I want to make at the moment, hence why I"m sharing this WIP now (so that it's my 2000th post). I'll attach the finished piece once I finish tweaking it, then rendering it in multiple passes, and of course some postwork to combine the renders into one piece.

Anyways, yeah. This is delaying the next batch of panels for Enthralled, but I wanted to attempt this one time at least. The 'cast setup' would make for one awesome orgy, but I don't think I have it in me to set up all of those poses, cumshots, etc. so that they'd all fit in the same 'orgy groupshot'...

The last time I attempted an orgy groupshot with a lot of characters, which I shared in various fanart threads, it didn't have nearly this many characters. Mainly I just wanted to have some fun with the attic bedroom thingie, which seemed perfect for such a thing...
