Environment assets for VN's.

Hi all,

I have been working on a VN/game for quite some time. I am pretty confident in my rendering skills, and can code to the level I need to (game will be using Ren'py game engine).

What I am looking for is recommendations for environment assets. Do I just use Daz store assets, hoping they have not been used in 100 other games. Do I put some time into a 3dmodeling program like Blender and make my own. Just so you know what type of game I am looking to make, it will be set in current day. The game will move between most continents, so varying architecture is essential. Office type assets, housing (and no the MC is not a teenager who somehow lives in a house a millionaire would be jealous of). The game is intended to be as grounded in reality as I can make it.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

DL.

Thanks for the replies folks. Maybe I should have made myself more clear. I have access to and use a lot of hdri's. What I am looking for is environments, or maybe more specifically architecture. Houses, apartments, offices and the like. Enough locations to populate a pretty decent size world, and as mentioned, from different countries would be great. As I said, trying to avoid the overused locations weall recognize from multiple other vn's.

Since we are on a pirate forum and I kinda assume you dont wanna drop several hundred bucks per location, I would have a look at . It has most more well known Blender kitbash sets from like Kitbash3D or BigMediumSmall. It has a lot of stuff for Unreal Engine as well but not sure how easily you could export them into Blender. is another site you can have a look, think it has a fair amount of sets from Evermotion and all. Most of them are 3DS max ones, but its fairly easy to export from there into Blender. Vfxmed doesnt require a subscription to their upload server (you prob just spend a day or two downloading a set), but Cgpersia kinda does.

Last site you could have a look at is . I think it's mostly asian made models, mostly 3DS max, and most of their materials used are fairly lackluster, but the models themselves are very detailed. Don't know how much their architecture assets are usefull for you (most of them are a bit weird), but its great for interior assets. And they use Gdrive to share so dont need a subscription to an upload website
