VN - Ren'Py - Completed - Erotica [Final] [Daniels K]

Though the game is not 5/5 perfect but closer to 4.5 imho, I feel like giving it 4 wouldn't be correct.

The story is interesting enough for this kind of game and while it's not short it doesn't drag on for too long either, so you don't lose itnerest before finishing the game.

The renders are very high quality, there are multiple LIs with multiple possible endings.

A good game that I would easily recommend trying.

The only thing really missing the mark with this one is the story and character depth... Pretty average, but that's not a bad thing. They're good enough for an adult VN. It doesn't have to be Tolkien or Rowling...
And because of that, little to no time is wasted in getting to the "good stuff"...

What this VN lacks in story and character quality or depth, it makes up for it in a big way by not being overly drawn out, tedious, or too deep... K.I.S.S. (keep it simple stupid). And this one does just that in an excellent way.

The art, scenes, models are really good to excellent and there are different paths.
One really great thing, even though you need more than one playthrough to get all the endings, this one does a great job of letting you "sample" nearly all the options before having to really commit to just one. And when/if you do commit to a route, it's not overly punitive about the others. They may be mentioned, but no emotionally devastating in your face type scenes to pour salt in any wounds. One LI finds out you're in love with another, who happens to be her best friend, and while she's upset, she's like, ok, I'll move on. And for any ending you choose, the other LIs are pretty much ghosted, which is nice and doesn't spoil the post ending bliss...lol

While this is solidly 4* and probably 4.5* ceiling, I'm giving 5* because it didn't take me 3+ days of reading/play just to get to a "good" ending spoiled by some other punishment for choosing it... And you didn't have to skip all the fun (while pretty much skipping all of the consequences) with other girls in order to end up with one, or two , you really liked.

Erotica is a visual novel by Daniels K with sixteen chapters shorter than the average for the genre and many branching paths that will require multiple gameplays if you want to see all the content. As the protagonist you are tasked to take care of your rich uncle’s house for a couple of months. During this time you will meet the main girls and some other women that can offer some bonus content not related to the base game. The story is very centered on two or three girls, while the protagonist is mostly just tagging along the situations and being the good guy with a speck of savior complex. It is a sweet story of friendship, empathy, and growing relationships that also requires you to track the romance points for each girl in order to unlock the scenes. The game is a typical slow burner, having almost half of its short chapters dedicated to build up, to then start the romance. The choice to focus on quality instead of quantity is always a positive compared to a game with dozens of girls, each with just a couple of scenes. A special appreciation goes to the music that is quite on point. Unfortunately after the midpoint of the story, the writing has a significant decrease in quality trying to be more grand than it should. The whiplash gradually reduces the interest in the simple writing previously established. Besides that, the story jumps the gun a couple of times with strange situations, which further makes the player lose interest or just question what the hell is happening. The models are very distinct, each with faces, hair, body and personality that differs from the other, offering a good amount of variation. But again, the developer missed the point by making so few scenes with each girl. The game lacks in content quite a lot for its length. By having sixteen chapters and a focus on a few girls, you would normally expect many scenes, many variations and different actions with the beloved progression of depth, but they are all very similar with a couple of exceptions. A very unfortunate turn of events for a game that had good potential. After finishing the game twice I believe Erotica to be just average. If you are an avid visual novel reader then maybe this game can be a fine addition to your library, otherwise don’t need to bother with this one.

Well, I always check DanielsK completed games even if Im not exactly a fan of his work, as he is one of the few devs that actually completes his games even if not always in a good way, he doesn't try to drag shit out.

This time I was pleasantly surprised though. I dont know why I liked this one a lot better than the others, probably because there are not as many asspulls, plotwists and supernatural stuff, so felt refreshing. The women here have distinctive personalities and each has qualities to like, even though some are a bit too weird sometimes. It has choices that do have an effect on how characters react to certain things, specially when it comes to cheating on the girls, which is always hot.

The endings are decent, at least the ones I played. Its hard sometimes to break up with some of the girls to go for others but thats how it should be.
Also, MC is not a dumbass or a wimp like in so many other games, maybe that made like the game more than I should have.
The only negative is that it has a very distasteful optional scene that is the reason for the "swinging" tag, but it is not that surprising for a DanielsK game, its only one scene and like a game over for that route that is like a "side one" anyway, so I give it a pass for that this time.

Either way, I give it a 5 just because I wasn't expecting to like it, but its probably a 4 o 4.5 game at best.

I'm positively surprised, about five hours of pleasant and light gameplay, but no less interesting, with a lot of choices and girls. Quite a nice slow burn with lilly and a satisfying ending.

The game has great graphics considering the time the dev took to produce the game. DanielsK is always good at it.
Now about the LI. I found none to my liking yet. Couple of crazy girls, one naive and one posing as evil, another one likely a prostitute broker or a slut.
The most annoying thing about this game is, Force mystery. I mean bro,,, this is not rocket science to plot some general level mystery. The mysterious toilet girl was nice. Then the second version was too dumb. Who the fuck on earth can run 20m while just taking the blindfold off?
2. WTF would you say the burger shop is 3 blocks away when you are at a lake away from town???

Renders are good and the characters are written well even if they arent that fleshed out and sex scenes are good if a tad repetitive. warning, spoilers ahead

The premise is what it is, it's a H game after all so I have no issue with the billion dollars worth uncle druglord lending him the biggest suite in town.
nearly all women like him from the start but again, h game so not something I can fault for even if there are some nice exceptions to the rule. despite this some conversations are written extremely well, gotta say.

However it's the stuff that comes next that put me off a bit: MC not only is the best human in town at sex, but he's also the best fighter ever. Very little goes wrong, when he's stranded (together with a small girl who had just been beaten up) in the desert there's no suspense whatsoever, they manage to reach an house before it's even night after walking for hours.
after he comes back in town , after 7 days passed off camera in a cell, he's let off the hook very smoothly thanks to the uncle. at what point does what some would say here, "it wasnt meant to be taken that seriously" stop excusing what we can agree are things not done that well? it didnt contribute to the immersion. there was also a comedic ending to the whole beef ordeal so yeah of course I wont criticize that, but everything before it was supposed to be taken kind of seriously is it not?

All in all, this game is good, dont get me wrong! I really love the fact that there are proper endings for most characters and not a 15 on 1 generic harem ending. have a good one f95ers

This visual novel features the protagonist returning to his hometown after being away for 10 years. He comes back at the request of his uncle, who had to travel on business and needed someone to look after his house.

On his way home, he encounters an old acquaintance who is having trouble with her sister, who has kicked her out of the house. Needing company to show around the city, he invites her to stay at his uncle's house. From there, our protagonist begins to meet and get involved with the people he encounters and to face dilemmas.

As a work by Daniel K, it starts off quite lively, and as the episodes progress, you end up siding with one LI (Love Interest), and depending on the chosen LI, her ending may occur in chapters prior to the final chapter.

The scoring system is mainly used to achieve the ending with each love interest, but it does not significantly impact the main story.

The game includes the [multiple penetration] [swinging] tags, but this occurs only once and depending on the situation, it might not happen at all. If you're only looking for this aspect in the game, don't bother playing Erotica. And for those who dislike these TAGS, they can be avoided.

Story/Character:
The story goes you’re a young college guy who just finished college and goes to your uncle’s house to babysit his house. Along the journey, you begin to meet old friends and make new friends, as well as making new enemies. Interestingly enough, the main plot of the game is the most interesting part of the story. Not to give any spoilers, but basically your uncle is in a shady business and you get roped in that world. There’s good pacing and engaging plot twists throughout the main story plot.

The MC is great, he’s confident and has some spark to him but nothing too amazing. I do like that he’s a man and willing to take action, in the world of this game it’s necessary to make decisions like that to protect himself and the ones that cares for.

The love interest & side characters in the game are surprisingly varied and in-depth. Each characters is unique and stands out from each others. Funny enough, usually I have a favourite in these harem games but all the characters are just too good to not just love all of them.

Content:
The content is varied and there’s a decent amount of playtime.

Gameplay:
The gameplay is your typical AVN harem game with multiple character story lines and a main story to play through. To access those character routes, you have to build up your relationship by making the appropriate choices when talking with the characters. Just your average AVN when it comes to gameplay.

Visuals:
The visuals are nothing too special, they do their job of being fappable and to look good. Just it feels like the sex animations feel a bit too static, but nevertheless it’s better than having just still photos. I do have to admit, to always pick the creampie scenes in the game. Wow, the creampies in the game because they look so fucking good.

Just kinda feel like one of my letdowns of the game is the UI. Currently it just looks plain and doesn’t look polished, just a little pet peeve of mine.

Sound:
The sound design is okay. There’s background music that adds ambience and feel to the game. The sex noises and sound effects are okay as well, they just seem to be inconsistent. Now there’s an addition of voice acting in this game, I believe for one or a couple of the female characters in the game. The voice acting is average, I know it’s a rarity to have voice acting in an adult game so appreciated it. But I turned it off, because i’m usually a quick reader to read this.

Honestly, it's a good game with good characters and a main story, just feels like it’s currently to pick up steam. Regarding the NTR content, there’s only one bit of NTR content and it’s not you being cucked. It’s rather you’re featured in a porn shoot where you fuck somebody’s girlfriend in front of him but he enjoys it. If you’re looking for a good harem game with an entertaining main story, this would be a good read for you.

There are some nice aspects to this AVN
+ I really appreciate how the girls look more normal than other VNs where it seems every girl is a 6'2", fashion model with Double-D implants.

+ I did not see the end of Episode 9 coming at all. With what our main protagonists were up to, I did think, "That's not a great plan. What about <specific female name>?" Question answered with a nice surprising twist.

I've played worse and I've played better. This did not feel like a waste of time. Worth checking out.

I'm actually suprised TBH cuz i just downloaded this game because of swingin tag but there is only one scene in swinging as of now but then what made me like this game is this characters and beautiful girls with linear story.
I mostly skip dialouges because of worst english and writing but this game really pull off those issues because story is not complicated it is very simple to understand memorable which makes this game more interesting.
Also, damn there is a reasonable characters of hot and beautiful girls which is a big positive point you'll get to interact with all based on your choices which makes this game enjoyable like not too much cock sucking whores in one game.
My fav girl is ofc lily she is just so hot, thicc, cute, innocent and sexy at same time. She is really the best for me.
This game also have some dumb plot lines like the blindfolded thing but i find that also fun for me cuz i the end we can choose how we proceed with chloe ofc i swapped her lol !! so yeahin the end you always get the choice.
Animations and renders are top notch in the game. It's really good and im impressed.
Only a big flaw in the game is it says voiced but no thats just one AI voice for all girls dialouges so its a clickbait and i fell for it so its just disappointing for me. That's the only reason im reducing the one star. Dev shouldn't have done that

The plot is actually pretty decent as AVN plots go. Nothing to rave about, but it has some suspense and a few twists. The graphics are really well done, and the animation during sex is slightly better than average. Heather and Lilly look too much alike to suit me. Maybe it could be as easy as changing one of their hair colors. I really love Riley, as she is not classically or voluptuously beautiful, but still girl-next-door sexy. I would like a pregnancy option, but perhaps that would make things unnatural, given the story line. The one thing I would really love is to have a voice actor (even a rank amateur) do the voices. The computer-generated voice is monotone and so unrealistic that it is actually jarring. Compounding this is the on-off nature of having voice for one screen then none, then voice back, then gone. Others have commented on this, and I agree it is worse than no voicing at all. If I could give it a 3.8, that's what I would go for, but 4 stars is not overly generous and 3 stars would be a disservice to a good effort with room for improvement.

I keep getting sucked in by DK's stuff. Early promise, decent models, some fun scenes, someone to hate. But, as usual, it all falls on it's face after dancing on it's dick of idiocy. Just piling up improbabilities and stupid events just pull you out.

If you played his games you know what to expect. An empty pastry puff. Or you could say it's badly Shakespearean: So much sound and fury, signifying nothing.

TLDR: If you like DK's formula, and formula it is, then you'll like this. If you are one of the ones who get sucked back in to be disappointed by the inevitable dickdance mid-late game, then move along and save yourself the wasted time.

yes the same sorry formula of throwing girls at an MC and then slowly picking them off one by one for the rather weak attempt to make these games replayable is still there (thank you skip button), and i think it will take a very VERY cold day in hell and a brain transplant before danny can even imagine a harem (hey some peeps are just not dreamers), and not forgetting the premise is pretty flat and yes there is a house, it's practically a trademark , but there is also signs that D boy has also discovered plot devices!!

Story is very vanilla but i dont mind that to much, there are still some fun stuff happening, like Harper to bad she wasent a virgin though then she would have been perfect, but not really supprised she not, she just had the perfect look for it, but with her background it also make sense she isent one, i just love my virgins so always hoping

MC is pretty much just a slave with out a mind of hes own, when hes uncle says jump MC says how high, someone threatens MC with a baseball bat uncle says go to a party with them and MC does....uncle tells him go work with some dudea and he see the two guys he hate the most and MC still works with them.....its just really bad.

The constant relationship thing with Riley and MC feels way to drawn out, keep hearing "lets talk about what we are" and they never do is stupid, MC took her virginity, they fuck and kiss and yet for some weird reason they are still just friends......but keep saying they need to talk about but never does it gets a bit annoying.

MC i dont really care about, hes just to childish like alot of MCs are, constantly thinking how hot evey thing the walks on 2 legs is and how he wants all of them..... i wish there was an off button for thes thoughts, when a girl talks to him about anything he thinks they want hes dick, surely it couldent be for any other reasons...it just feels to cringy and gets annoying, even more so when MC thinks like that about a LI you dont want anything to do with.

MC is also a true idiot, like when it comes to the photo session while Karl is there, even when he got told that he might want her for porn movies MC just tells Riley all she needs to think about is being sexy for the photos....MC just cant put 2 plus 2 together and its a normal thing for MC doing the game.

As for the virgin scene its just a joke, its proberly one of the worst scene ive seen, when MC puts hes dick in he covers them with sheets? so the player cant see anything what so ever? and no i am not even joking....

Most funny part is when he says hes slowly getting inside you can see on the covers hes already very deep with how much he moves....its like they where to lazzy to make a real virgin scene with deflowering.
What makes it even worse is that the girl has 0 pain even with MCs dick size, not even from breaking her hymen which she did since she shows you blood on her hands in the toilet right after.....

There is 0 virgin vibe doing the hole scene and dialog was extreemly bad, never heard a girl getting her hymen broken with 0 pain but only pure pleasure.
Its almost funny to hear her say after sex that she has some pain now? but dident have any doing? and then MC explains it hurts the first times even though she dident hurt at all doing her first time....lol

The voice thing i dunno, its pretty good considering its not a voice actor, but for it to really have any effect it would need to be 100%, having 2 lines without then 2 lines with voice just feels a little pointless, you dont really get into it since once you start reading you read so when voice then pops up you are pretty much done reading already, if its 100% then you can just listen and not look text at all.
Not even sure which way i would like the most, reading is a bit faster but with nice voices that fits the characters it can do alot for a game and done right i would take the voiced over reading since it just adds more fun.

To me its just above average since it still mostly just feel like a background thing and not really setting a mood, but its still better then the normal elevator music alot of games use.

I was at 4 stars for some time but the way MC acts and thinks plus the virgin scene and the story becoming a bit boring i had to go down to 3.

I enjoyed most of his games (except the previous one) and he's on good form here.

Girls are pretty and varied and as usual getting to the good stuff does not take too long. The story is nothing much but I don't mind it, it's not an incest game that needs a good story and build up.

One star deducted for the horrific looking dick though. Size is on the big side for my taste, but it's ok. The texture is really bad, not only does it looks wet all the time but the veins and the colour are all wrong compared to the rest of the body.

Minor annoyance: the transitions between scenes take a bit too long.

Review of ep 4

The main menu ensemble (music + video) is arresting and brilliant. I love it, and IMO other devs should do things like this to set the tone of the rest of the game.

...and that's where its virtues end, because the game itself is mediocre at best. (Note: I turned off voice acting as it was distracting.)

MC's "I faked a degree at salesman school" look is off-putting, and he has the charisma of a ten-year-old Republican trying to be a model citizen. Like all the characters in this game, he has no brain or agency at all and follows the "I'm a good guy" script because that's his job. It's uninspiring and I just don't care about him.

Riley is similar. I really like how she looks and superficially acts; she's my type and I should love her to pieces. Unfortunately, I can't; like MC, she also just barely registers as human and seems to be thoroughly on-rails for some type of external narrative. You could almost replace all of MC and Riley's lines to each other with "herp derp" and get the same game.

Lilly is also kinda my type but falls flat for similar reasons. I didn't go through her route fully because I just don't care.

Heather isn't my type.

Harper's intro was the high point of the game for me, but the dev doesn't seem to know what to do with her and she quickly fell into the same boring pattern that the others girls did. What a fucking waste because that storyline has problem-hot written all over it. She should be inspiring fear and excitement, not "oh, it's Harper".

Minor gripes: the game's geography is inscrutable; it looks like we park in the middle of nowhere to get to our house. Apparently driveways aren't a thing. The 50's style gas station is ... well it's interesting I guess. Never explained.

I dunno, this game had all the ingredients to be something I'd love and then just ralphed on itself at every opportunity. I don't get it. Girls + renders are gorgeous, story is a nothing-burger, nobody has any charisma. It isn't a train wreck, but it's got nothing going for it either. 3/5.

one of the most boring pointless games i have ever played on here ....a huge amount of convos go on way too long or are just DULL....do yourselves a favour and go watch some paint dry it a lot more fun......ok after playing the latest version i am altering my review from 1 star to 4 star ... the dev has tightented up the dialoge .. the wrinting is delivered much better and the animations are a massive improvment ... also what was a sketchy mish mash of a plot ... thin as it is lol... its now in your face and not a problem to follow ... you can clearly see the dev has made a huge improvment and this is one case were remaking the game was a giant improvment ... kedos to the dev for that

Renders and animations are good as always with his games.
Unless many others i really liked his last game, but this is another
level, the story the writing is really good. Looking forward for future updates.

The writing for this story is better than average, it makes for interesting reading although having no good choice in some options is as frustrating as it is realistic.

The models are nice, even the mc for a change, but the girls all have horrible body hair which was enough to drag down the whole novel for me
