VN - Ren'Py - Eternum [v0.8.4] [Caribdis]

Amazing game with an epic sci-fi setting. Story is intriguing, there are definitely some small horror and mystery elements along with great fantasy battles and funny interactions between characters. Game offers many unexpected memorable moments and the characters with well written personalities. A must play!

STRONGLY RECOMMENDED

This is a tour de force from Caribdis! Thus far (version 0.3) the story has been engaging, the dialogue well-crafted , the graphics very good and the characters charming!

After "Once in a Lifetime", I had high hopes and high expectations of "Eternum" and, so far, those hopes and expectations have been amply and ably met.

I delayed entering the world of "Eternum" until sufficient story-line had been developed quite deliberately and, in retrospect, am glad I did so. I am hooked but now have to wait for another quantum leap in the development of the story before re-entering the altered reality of this absorbing and addictive tale.

I am not a big fan of big ass and big tits which seem to dominate in the VN ecosphere. My own choice of partners has always been delicate, willowy girls with, to be vulgar, tiny firm asses and bee-sting tits and that runs to my taste in the fictional girls in VNs. Eternum girls are mostly much more endowed than I like, but this is not sufficient to deter me from giving a rating of Excellent ***** to "Eternum".

The VNs which last the test of time and will endure have story-lines that are not merely shallow vehicles for sexual gratification but which capture the imagination and suck the reader/viewer into a captivating fictional space. All the VNs I really enjoy have this quality and, while I clearly cannot speak for all tastes, I believe that this is true for the majority of participants in this zone. That seems to be validated by the high score "Eternum" continues to garner here.

I recommend this tale which has an ambitious reach with the hallmark qualities we have come to expact from the author; original and engaging story-line, delightful and sweet characters, gentle humour, charm, evolving intimacy.

Finally, given where we are, is the story and are the girls hot? A resounding YES.

Overall, a good game, but it has faltered with some of the updates.

Characters are average. Forced fetishes for characters that get really annoying or just bad; while some of them are written well, others are really bad.

Humor. Game is packed with it, and the jokes (most of them at least) get annoying fairly fast.

Story is average; nothing groundbreaking.

Overall, graphics are the best, rest is average.

Wow, this is the first time I'm reviewing something on this website but I gotta say this is by far the best game I've played on here. The story is extremely fun and engaging so much so that I forgot I was playing a porn game. Really love the humor and the visuals too, really looking forward to future updates!

I'm feeling a bit down after reaching the end of the story. It feels like I shot myself in the foot by playing this first before the others. Because what else is there that can rival this? Damn I really hope there are others out there that can top this one.

The renders are top notch. And the faces are all so attractive. It's like the devs read my mind and then created the models based on that. I even feel a bit sappy sometimes when looking at the girls faces (and bodies), that's how beautiful the models are.

And the music too! Huge props to whoever picked the background music for the story. Like the AoT one and the one for the creepy scenes. But for me personally, nothing beats the bgm for Midnight Comfort. Whoever did that is a genius. It fits SO well.

The animations are very well done. The downgrade in quality when it switches from still images to animation is very very slight. There might be some hiccups here and there when a new animation starts but that may depend on PC specs.

I haven't encountered any bug so far. No issue with spelling or grammar either. The dialogue in this game flows very smoothly. This game is just so well done.

The only thing I can say about the game that isn't praise is the pacing of how sexual you can get with the characters. There is a LOT of slow build up. And unfortunately, you may lose interest if you're not patient. I didn't though so I guess that speaks to how good the story is too. But no, you're not going to be having sex with the major characters in the first hour.

But even so, I just can't bring myself to give it less than 5 stars. It sounds corny but this game is like a work of art among the rest.

Hahahahahahahah I'm writing a review for a pir*ted PORN game Baahahahahahaha I never thought i'd do it, but here I am, not even feeling that weird because of how good this game is!

It's excellent, fucking excellent, folks. The pop culture references, amazing humor, cute af girls, relatable dialogue, the batshit craziness of it all Hahahaha

Music's spot on too, one of the characters even now officially has an unofficial theme song, at least in my mind... i know you know what i'm talking about x)

This is one of those instances when you run into art in a place you never expected to. This speaks in favor of human talent and passion.

A really good story with some sexy elements to it, not some half-baked half-assed attempt for an excuse to show boobs.

This explains why it suddenly jumped to the very top of rating for all fucking time on the website.

Caribdis... Not that i'm anyone fucking special, mate, but you gotta be doing something right if you got me to write a 5-star review here. My humble compliments to the chef! let's see what you got brewing for us in the future!

I must say that this is perhaps one of the best games of all time. The story and visuals are simply sensational. I am a big fan and can hardly wait for the next update. Big compliments to the game developer.

one of the ways that i review games on this site is if i were to take the sexual content out of the game, would it still be enjoyable.
and i have had more fun reading this than playing a lot of triple A games

Wow, I'm afraid to keep playing this game because it's going to ruin all other games for me. This game feels custom made for me.

Every girl is unique, likable, and beautiful in their own way.

The writing is great and it feels like whomever wrote the dialog is living in my head. Please continue to make your protagonist with my personality. I will give you the rights.

There is the required slow-burn at the beginning of the story but the intensity and frequency of the sex scenes feels right on point.

Renders 10, Animations 10, Characters 10, Story 9, Sex 10, Sound/Music 10. I'm sitting here trying to think of an issue with the game and I just can't. Keep it up.

I'm newer to these games but I can tell this DEV is a standout and I will be supporting them. Let me know if you need any unpaid staff.

It's hilarious, exciting, sexy, fun and just such a fun experience. This si the type of game you forget to jerk off in because you get absorbed by the story and characters so much. Very excited to see where the story goes from here.

I can see why this rose up to the 1st spot so quickly. Beautiful and diverse cast of characters, an intriguing storyline that always leaves you lingering for more, beautiful renders and animated fu.. ahem, love making scenes, on point jokes to keep the mood light hearted when necessary and a dev who actively improves the game based on user feedback.
Truly a masterpiece of a VN. Can't wait to see what's more to come.

Let's be honest here, you wouldn't judge a 'Captain America' movie on the same scale you would judge 'Pulp Fiction'.
Adult VN's are great, but when you consume them you come to accept some faults - mediocre dialogue, rushed storytelling, inconsistent characters and 'porn speak', you ain't getting no Pulp Fiction.
But every once in a long long while, you find a gem, a piece of content that transcends above the genre, Eternum is such a gem.

First of all I'll say this - Eternum is not a 'quick fap' type of VN, honestly, if that's what you're looking for, I'm afraid you'll be very disappointed.
There's very little sexual content so far spread over probably around 8 hours of story, most of it consists of pretty mild flirting and maybe a nipple here and there.
'So, why should I play it?' you may ask, and the answer is - for every other reason.

In the world of Eternum people can log into a 'virtual, hyper-reality MMORPG' that seems just as real as the outside world, they can hop between different servers, which are different worlds with very different vibes to them.
Caribdis uses the setting to the full extent, moving between spooky, dark mystery solving, to light, fun magic training.
It is used as a plot device to allow for relationships to progress, for friends and enemies to be made, and as a well executed excuse to just do mostly whatever the fuck he wants.
It never feel weird or out of place, Caribdis truly did a superb job with his story-telling, I was fascinated to find out more, I was worried and glad and simply very invested in the story and in the amazing, well built world of Eternum.

The characters are extremely likeable, well written, and very distinct.
They range from wild and funny, to serious, sometimes sad. all of them are deep, engaging and very interesting. honestly, as I said at the start - a game in this genre being this well written in every aspect (world building, story telling, characters and dialogue) is absolutely unexpected, truly a one in a thousand.
Relationships are built slowly, the interactions are believable, and the slow burn of both friendships and sexual tension is extremely well done, and oh so very rewarding.

From the graphical side of things - the models are pretty, the renders are often beautiful, and the large amount of different settings all look nice and visually pleasing.
The sexual scenes are very sexy, unfortunately there's very little of them so there's not much to be said other than that.

Honestly there's very little bad things to say, I'd say the magic training part was a tiny bit too long in my opinion, especially since there's very little payoff outside of a pretty cute look into the past.
Other than that - I just want more of it, I need more, it was such a wonderful charming unexpected experience I'm honestly not too sure how I'm gonna load up another VN in the next while.
This is a gem that transcends way above the genre, 100% up there with giants like 'Being a DIK' or 'City of Broken Dreamers'.
Do your self a favor and give it a try.

OMG this is THE best game yet to surface on this website! The quality of the storytelling, superb dialogue and pacing of romance combined with the amazing graphics and quality of sex scenes is simply breathtaking!

I started out having a bias, which then turned to 2, 3, and so on! I can simply not pick a clear "favorite" amongst the beautiful casts of girls. My only regret is not picking up on this game earlier, even though all the reviews were pointing towards the correct direction.

If I knew Caribdis was the author of Once in a Lifetime I would have played this game INSTANTLY! For some reason I don't usually finish the games I start playing on this website, even though a lot of the games I have played through (which is mounting up to be quite a handful) has been great, but I completed Once in a Lifetime in 1 or 2 sittings and am craving for more updates for Eternum!

If you have been on the fence like I was when I first found this game, DON'T wait to play this 10/10 game and consider supporting this guy on Patreon! Authors like Caribdis that actually finishes games and ensures they are polished to this level are rare nowadays and you have found a new supporter in me after playing through this game!

I force myself to only play this game when i wanna jackoff, but the story is so good that even after i fap i wanna continue playing it but must resist so i dont rush through it

Let me preface this by saying that im a hard rater when it comes to anything in life whether its movies, games, tv shows, girls, etc and this game is so far a 10/10, a true masterpiece

I can tell from the writing alone that Caribdis is a higher level thinker with a social intelligence level that goes beyond multi-dimensional plains of thought, I know this cause the way the game's music is placed at the right moments with the right vibe, the effortless comedy, the way the characters act and talk leads me to this conclusion.

Definitely a major step up from Once in a life time which I had already gave a 10 too as well

Damn you game, I want to love you for so many things you're doing flawlessly, but I just can't.

Very nice selection of girls, but most are underdeveloped. Wouldn't be complaint normally since it's very early version, but there's like 50 characters introduced so far.

Story is brilliant. But develops way too fast. One moment MC is logging to this super hard to level up game, next he's doing end-game shit....slow down a bit will you?

So there we are, beautiful girls, great story, mysterious plot....It should be 4/5 at minimum.

So why'd I go star lower?

Well, if a person treats me like a shit, I don't consider that person interesting, I consider them asshole, no matter their reason or how hot they are.
If a person puts a knife to my throat the first time we meet, I don't immediately 10 seconds later befriend that person and treat everything like it never happened.

It's a game and all, but for fucks sake...

And finally, cardinal sin, during one game chapter there's about 10-20 blitz flashes from camera while screen is black (I can't begin to describe how much I hate that, like genuinely HATE it, almost to the point of dropping a game hate it).
And to add additional flavor to it, JUMP SCARE, because it's semi-horror game area so of course.
That's one star that's never coming back, even if the rest of the game develops to be best game ever available on F95.

Will review the game again in later builds, since it's an amazing start, few shortcomings aside (and my personal pet peeve is just that, my personal problem, so if you don't mind flashing blitzes from black screen and jump scare, add one star back)

This story could legit be a Netflix series or a tv show that I would binge-watch. It has a lot of depth and humor, and of course, the sex scenes are great. Whoever is writing the dialogue and creating the story is a genius. It's far above even the top quality you will find on this site. Although the sex scenes aren't as frequent as in other games when they come; it feels fitting as the characters become more and more desirable.
