VN - Ren'Py - Eternum [v0.8.5 Public] [Caribdis]

Seriously though, this is probably already my favorite VN and it's only version 0.4, the story alone is enough for a 5 star review. I love the world building and the sense of mystery that has me desperately craving more, with my brain and not just my dick. And as for that part, the models and animations so far are pretty top tier as well, so I'm thinking with both heads as I write this review. Definitely worth checking out for anyone who likes VNs.

I personally think this game has the potential to be one of the, if not the best VN I've ever played. The way Caribdis pulls you into the story is mind blowing. Very cool story so far (0.4), and very awesome world building. I have played more than enough VN's from here, but this is the first time I've ever been bothered to write a review.
I would definitely suggest this game to everyone.

Man, where to start. This has amazing worldbuilding and storylines. The animations are fantastic, and the personalities are so diverse. Sound choices also accentuates the feeling of the game very well.

Eternum takes itself lightly, but turns itself on when the hard hitting moments come.

There's already a good amount of content in the game, but the way it's been laid out, the future holds exciting times.

This game has a lot of potential even right now this tops a lot of other games, the story, the graphics, the characters, the world ingame is wonderfull can't wait to see where this is going this game has all of my support thank you Caribdis for this piece of art or cake whatever pls if you like this game like me go support his work on patreon he deserve it by far.

Beautiful graphics, character models look great, story, though feeling somewhat linear, is well-written, updates so far have been extensive. Came for the naughties (pun intended), stayed for everything else.

To me to be catched by a game I either look for good looking CGS, catchy storyline and characters or great mechanics.

While I can't say much about the mechanics themselves, since It's "just" a multichoice game, both CGS and storyline/characters are great.

I have to admit that I'd play that game even without the H part, since the the whole idea, the plot, it's original and very intriguing!

What I really like of this game:

- The plot it's well organized/planned and the whole story it's thrilling and misterious.
- The characters have very different personalities and varies visually (it's not one of these games where, despite the high quality, all the females look the same but with differen haircut/eyes colors).
- There is a lot of attention to build up a mental situation BEFORE any phisical outcome. It's nice to see how the relationship with a character develops before getting into something and that adds a kick to the whole thing.
- The renders and the attention for details, lightnings, environment, chlotes etc it's well made and gives to the game a lot of personality (there are several games whose graphics, despite being extremely detailed, look alike).


What I think it could be improved/tweaked:

- Would be nice to have more interaction of the player to get into some"rpg" style but that would probably be a completely different game setup. Maybe for the next title in the future? Dunno, just saying...
- Make female characters even more different between them. I mean, thereare still some features they all share and make them look similar. Perhaps different nose shapes, jawlines, eyes shapes, smaller breasts/butts etc. Still, it's already great like that, I'm not complaining.
- Some of the intimate episodes feel a bit "forced". For example, a very clumsy and shy girl who tries to understand her feelings towardher friend, getting aroused sleeping together, starting to explore herself and her body and then all of a sudden "lemme suck your dick!" Feels like some steps were missing and if is intentional looks a bit out of place. I'm playng now "Once in a lifetime" and I see that in this game it was even more marked and has been tweaked a lot in "Eternum".

Don't get me wrong, I love the game and it's a 5/5, one of the best games I've played so far! Can't wait to play the next chapter!

Bloody great content.
Funny dialogue and interesting storys that feels very sword art online inspired with the VR Technology.
Memorable and extremely sexy characters .
The character designs are very iconic and don't feel like just fuckable slabs of meat unlike most Visual Novels.
Unfortunately the game is still yet unfinished but is still A+ Quality and lives up to the previous titles standards once in a life time made by the same dev.
I recommend it to anyone wanting a good story and erotic cutscenes.

Ok what can I say about this game? If I had sum it up in one phrase, it is absolutely outstanding. Please hear me out below.

The graphics are the best I have seen, the different worlds within Eternum and the storylines are simply amazing, I love how the characters interact with each other no word of a lie this is a game with practically unlimited options that could keep this game going for years and years and I'm telling you everyone that gets hooked on this will still be yearning for the next installment for however long the game goes for. I am even convinced that other talented developers could with the developer of this game design side quests etc.

Onto the characters, this is not a game that hinges on sex, there are a few scenes in the game of course but it is not what you will be most wanting here, the quests and storylines will keep you interested far more than the sex. That being said the female models in the game are quite simply gorgeous, each has their own personality, looks, traits etc and you become really invested in the relationships you make with them.

Gameplay currently I would say if you don't skip stuff I guess 20 hours to be honest I have got that lost in the game it could even be longer, the animations are great maybe a bit jumpy on android but on a gaming PC they will be one of the best games on here.

You will find yourself feeling lost when you reach the end of each update and will be wishing the time away so you can get your next fix of this, damn I even went for 4 days with a few hours sleep worked all day and then played this for a many hours not realising the time had gone so quick.

To the developer you truly have created a thing of beauty here I hope the project last for many many years and you thoroughly deserve all the 5 star reviews and being 1 of the most highly rated games around. Please keep the updated coming if I only had 1 thing I could moan about is I hate waiting and wish the updates were faster.

Coming from Once in a Lifetime, this game doesn't disappoint. The humor and the different personalities of each characters is what makes Eternum special. This new game have elements that makes it similar yet different compared to the first one. I really enjoyed the new sci fi setting of the virtual world of Eternum, which makes it have endless possibilities in how the story could progress. Also this is one of the few games that will have a good harem ending so that's a greatly added bonus for people like me who are indecisive on which girl to go for.

1 of the best storyline. Gameplay is refreshing and the charaters are so likeable.

Likes - There's so much charater development and the visuals are stunning. Its the best I've played on an andriod platform.

Definetely worth playing and definitely worth supporting them on pateron.

Great story, loving characters, sexy girls and fast updates (Every 4 months) with a lot of content. One of my favourites games, and I really want to see what Caribdis is thinking to put in the future, because sex scenes besides, the game is really good.

sorry i cant type more because i have no hands, this sentence alone took over an hour. this game is epic. the story/setting is what sets it apart imo. the developer makes good use of the "game-within-a-game" mechanism to vary the different settings and genres leveraged within the storytelling. the dialogue is top tier as well, at times funny and light or heavy and emotional. The renders and animations are definitely the best I have seen and also the characters are well written and the author provides enough depth to connect with them on some level. This game is very good on the renders (girls in the game) , and animations
but I know that the sale point here is the story. The dev has done an excellent job in this game. There is a big BUT for me.... because I want less story from a game and MANY more sex scenes (steamier also). If you care most about story- you are in for a treat .

Ok let's start by saying that the game is good, it's funny and has an interesting story (although the characters get pretty boring after a while)

BUT the “porn logic” in this REALLY bothers me,
I know all porn games have porn logic (duh ),
The problem is the exaggeration of it and it’s been happening since their previous game.

It’s really confusing… are most of those girls, virgins (like it’s heavily implied) or pornstars?

Cuz In one minute they are all like:
Ah! "Blushes" D-Don't call me cute, Baka!
And in the next dialogue:
Let me suck you into oblivion! FEED ME CUM!!!
Either way the inconsistency doesn’t make sense!

It's ironic that, IMO, the worst thing about this porn game are the sex scenes

They feel so impersonal, it's as if when the scene starts they become strangers taken by an overwhelming lust that erases their personalities, each scene feels like a casual encounter with a secondary girl, completely devoid of connection between the characters

It's so ridiculously good, the story keeps you on your toes, and I always went my days waiting to find out what comes next. There's some fun comedy mixed in. The "plot" is just amazing. Just like when I played Once in a Lifetime, I'm amazed at how good a VN can make me feel.

This is a true gem of an adult visual novel. By now I've checked out literal hundreds of games over the years on this site. Very few of them can match up to Eternum as a whole.

If there were AAA games of the porn game world, I'd argue Eternum (and Caribdis as a developer) to be part of them. Everything here is quality. Top notch renders and environments aside, there's a certain style to the characters and writing that make me feel like I'm playing a Caribdis game, and I think it's great when a dev achieves that. The passion and care put into this game really shows.

The other thing I love is that the game is fun, plain and simple. Most of us come here for the lewd stuff of course, but AVNs can be a lot more than that, and this is a great example. I think my favorite parts of the game are when we aren't following the main plotline, but instead when we are just exploring the world of Eternum with the love interests and having a good time. It's an adventure, and I love when we don't know what's coming next.

The lewd stuff is definitely not slacked on either. More than the great animations, one thing that really stands out is the facial expressions. They feel very organic, and is something you REALLY don't see often. This goes for the non-lewd parts of the game as well.

Really, this game just has it all right now. Good story and writing, humor that actually makes me laugh, loveable characters, high quality renders and animations, and just an interesting setting to explore. If I had to critique anything, I sometimes wish we got more choice on our MCs dialogue in minor situations. There's been a couple times where he says something and all I can think is "dude just shut up."

Perhaps the most impressive thing is that this is only the fourth version released, and I already count it as one of my favorites. This is an incredibly solid experience, and still feels like it's only just beginning.

Positives:
An excellent game worth your time. This is the game that has has shown me that Honey Select games (HS2-powered games anyway) can be unique looking and have excellent visuals.

The story is wonderful and I can't wait see where it goes. Caribdis has carved out a story that is compelling, emotional, and leaves you wanting more. A lot of the games on this site have good characters with good writing, but in this game? You get good characters and writing, AND a good sci-fi/fantasy story that could quite literally be a real book or TV show. That is quite rare and why this game receives so much praise.

My one negative criticism: The writing in some of the sex scenes is jarring compared to the writing in the overall story. There is a character who is rather meek and timid, and when she and the MC get together suddenly they start talking like they're both porn stars. If you spend the time writing wonderful character arcs for each person then one would expect those characterizations to carry over into the sex scenes. I would never expect a meek and timid virgin to suddenly start screaming 'daddy' or something like that during their first time. I understand that the sexy scenes are supposed to bring them out of their shells but it should still be realistic. That's just my opinion.

All that said, I would like to rate this game closer to 4.5 with the issues described above BUT this game makes you fall in love with the characters and story so strongly that it can be overlooked and deserves a full 5 stars. Still, wanted to pass along those thoughts to the Author.

It is a nice game with a quite interesting story (I really like the paradoxes in stories) and good visuals. I recommend it 100%. I have played version 0.4 and I haven't noticed any bugs or any performance issues (playing on an old laptop with 950GTX)
