Forget all these other devs jerking off on sub-par game mechanics or whatever. Execution is really what separates the great game devs from the shitty ones and Caribdis manages to deliver YET AGAIN.

Caribdis has a good understanding of how to stretch the medium of visual novels to its limits in a way that very few if any game devs have in the past. This is basic stuff but other games don't even understand how a fucking camera works. These other devs have barely begun to discover fire and rocks while Caribdis is wheeling a howitzer around.

What I'm saying is that this is the closest thing you're going to get to kino in this degenerate hobby.

A funny and well written pop culture infused Ready player one parody from the makers of the excellent Once in a lifetime.

The version played was the initial release 0.1 and total play time was approximately 3 hours.

The early lady selection all seem to have something unique about each both in appearance and personality. The dialog and story is jam packed with references in the true spirit of Ready player one.

The humour is on point, I giggled like the Joker when an Attack on Titan themed scene happened.

I'm an unabashed leecher of the wonderful content here, backing only a few games a year for 6 months each. This dev has earnt my money a dozen times over with their past game and I'll be backing the Patreon just because it would be a true crime not to after how much I enjoyed their work.

The only weakness to my eyes is the reliance on a Honey select engine to make the game, however the Dev's stylised characters maybe more future proof than other games that try for realism and since I'm having a hoot anyway and its still fap worthy it isn't enough for me to affect the star rating.

This is only a five star review because I cant stuff more in tbh.

Wow, just finished playing the 0.1 version and I have to say Eternum is the renpy game with the most potential that I've ever seen or played. The jokes and references in the game were well timed and I laughed at quite a few of them, which isn't normal for me as I don't normally laugh at jokes written in a game.
There are a few animated cutscenes that surprised me due to the fact that they were implemented seamlessly and were of high fidelity. Speaking of quality, all of the animations in the game were very well done, not choppy and seemingly hand made, it's the quality you've come to expect of this developer if you've played their other work. The story it's self was gripping, it made me feel excited as to what would happen next or what I might discover in the vivid world of Eternum. Overall this product has high potential and I'm very excited to see what comes next in future updates. If I had the money I would 100% join their patreon and support the development of this game.

Very good first release. The models are gorgeous, the music is nice and the sound design is one of the best I've heard in an AVN. You can clearly tell Caribdis is developing his own style as the humor and suspence is reminiscent of Once in a Lifetime. Seeing the two very different worlds we've been shown inside of Eternum the concept have infinite possibilities.

This game is from the creator of Once in a lifetime, this should give an idea on what to expect from the game. While it may be a 0.1 version game, there is a lot to unpack with the introduction of the characters and their interactions which gives a blend of comedic and serious moments when its appropriate. The models look amazing and the story is great with the whole mega corp video game aspect. I am looking forward for more updates, thank you Cari!!

Amazing start for a new favorite.
Given the way this was being hyped I had high expectations, and this easily surpassed them. The characters manage to have their own personalities while still reminding you of old favorites, the graphics are really well done, and the story manages to be engaging while still having Caribdis humorous touches.

The only thing that could have made this better would be more Stabby

Reviewing Eternum as v0.1
Small introduction. Some of you could see my 2 star review to the game. But i suppose i overreacted here) Here is my new one.

So, What do we have here? Some kind of geeky sci-fi story, Honey Select graphics, good humor, and (as my buddies told me) quality from the dev.

Story: For now it's 4 out of 5 for me. Still really early to give a straight 5 here, but game can easily do that in later updates. Most problematic for me - a lot of references to the first game, which i really can't understand. For now it lacks character development and various details explaing lore of the game.

Renders: 4 out of 5. I'm not really a fan of HS, but it's not a main reason for -1 star. There are some glitches in clothes in some moments of the game. Also i saw some model bugs, could be HS problem, not devs fault.

Animations: 5 out of 5. They are really smooth)

Music: 4 out of 5. There are almost (if none) no silent scenes in the game. But music cound't help me to immerse me into game tho.

After all it's good game. Worth at least trying that one.

Version .1 felt like a breath of fresh air and did a pretty good job at introducing the game. The character each feel like their own person, the story entrances you and makes you want to dig right in and the world itself feels pretty unique so far. Not to mention the music is outstanding. 5/5 for introducing the game in a fantastic way.

I love how Caribdis took the feedback and criticism of the previous game and actually used it, the humor of the last game was fantastic and he definitely reused the same style although with more jokes. I find that 80% of the jokes land for me in this game so far but also there's infinitely more, I found almost every joke in the previous game landed however considering the massive increase of humor, it's impressive to say the least. He also took the story criticisms and improved on them. To say the least, he took everything that was said to be good and bad about the last game to make this one better. The soundtrack is also pretty solid although some songs aren't for me, but I do enjoy the mix of more acousticy backing and some other genres here or there.

I have no idea if it'll beat the previous game but even if it doesn't, who cares it's fantastic in a different but similar way.

I've been a f95 member for a while and sampled many games but never left a review...until now. I wouldn't bother leaving a review if the game was bad, okay or even good, but this game is on another level. So I just had to do it, I have nothing left to say about this game as the gents/ladies before I have already said what needed to be said. Simply put, JUST PLAY THIS GAME.

Honey select renders are a huge hit or miss for me but this has some of the best I've seen and topples many others. Dev has made massive improvements compared to their first work, them booties looking mighty good. Oh yeah and don't forget the unique characters and story line too. If you enjoy SAO or VR games you'll definitely like this.

X scenes are more than awesome, but the 5 stars are for the whole presentation of the story. There is no one like Caribdis, who can make me love the game just from pushing the button "Start the Game". This man/woman is on another level and I hope he become more than X story gamemaker, because I know he can.

The best 0.1 I've ever played. The story and character design are both fantastic. It has enough content to give you a feel of the world and to introduce you to some of the main characters. The VR aspect of the game offers the future possibility of a lot of varying content and experiences. As this game progresses I believe it will for sure enter into my top 5 of all time, it seems to even have the potential of becoming #1. Caribdis, you're an amazing developer and I'm looking forward to the future of your second game.

I will keep this short cause why are you wasting your time here and reading these reviews go play the fucking game.

OK, seriously, this is ridiculous. At v0.1 it plays more like what you'd expect out of v0.4. The really impressive part is the polish of the game. The characters are fresh and fun and the graphics are beyond top notch. Obviously this is still relatively early stages, but it looks like Caribdis is going to live up to the standards set in OIAL.

If I had to critique something it would be the chest size of the girls... not everyone needs to have DDs... e.g. the potential Olympic swimmer would be better off with Bs.

The story appears to have a lot of influence from Ready Player One and other LitRPG stories, this isn't good or bad on it's own, but if it does follow RPO, it means we can expect more conflict from the corporatists (Axel?) as the search continues.

BTW: thanks to amazing work on OIAL and this release, I'm joining Subcribestar...

A lot of Content for being this early in development (probably the most content for a 0.1 i ever played).
The clothes, characters models, background, etc. are unique and look amazing. It really has a high chance of becoming one of the best games on this site.

5/5 would play and will play again.

Wish I could give this more than 5 stars. Caribdis once again blows us away with their storytelling ability, animations, musical choice, and the ability to intertwine it all together into a story worth playing with great characters that develop throughout the story. It sets a new standard for visual novels that I hope many developers can reach.

When it comes to f95zone after some time you think you have seen everything. Majority of games have hot chicks but they use generic_coffee_cup_model or city_night wallpapers to create the environment.
The game itself began as any other game. The MC is lame 18-something who is after hot girls, like in every 683 games in this forum. Everyone are constantly talking of this new fantastic game called "Eternum", there are even some people larping this game inside the game. My boomer instinct go like "yeah, I have seen this shit before".
Then you log in and... it blows your mind. Amount of details Eternum has rivals with FF7 remake quality. Nothing is generic, everything has been designed by devs. You first connect in to cyberpunk world, and that world is better than Cyberpunk2077. I don't know what shit devs have been smoking, and don't stop it because my mind can't comprehend the creativity they have.
Eternum is simply amazing, just play the "meh"-part trough and you will love it. Personally I am happy that Eternum does not exists, because I would waste my whole life at there being completely addicted to it.

So what about saving time? Well yeah, like in previous game, once in a lifetime, the main issue is game cockblocking you. Like in that game, same same design flaw has been carried to this game: in every multioption answer with girls you have to go back and try again if you did not get the lovescore. If you lack lovescores, the game will blueball you permanently and you will miss all the scenes with that girl/s. Also, when you have option to explore or stay still, always pick the curious-heroic-friendly option as it will expand the game, otherwise you will miss major scenes.

This being said, just play it anon and get hooked. Once in a lifetime was one of the best games in this forum, and this game will be even better.

I was already very happy with Once in a Lifetime and more than satisfied, even if I unfortunately (personal stupidity) needed several attempts...

But Eternum more than blew me away!!!

If this work of art continues as this "intro" already offers a foretaste, then I don't know how the final version could be rated by me someday....
Except for the typical MC, who doesn't perceive anything of his surroundings due to the exaggerated horniness and drooling thoughts (this is probably due to my somewhat *cough* higher age) absolutely everything else has more than thrilled me.

Presentation, music, humor, graphics, all these points fulfill every wish of mine so far.
It's just a mystery to me how Caribdis can realize all this with HS2? All other HS2 based VN look so "different"...?

I wish Caribdis good luck, success and many more good ideas with his vision

In short: I simply double my previous statements! From everything even more, even better than the prologue!
Suspense, fun, eroticism, graphics & appearance, sound & music, development of the story, just everything is great!
As much as I usually get upset as a critic and want to grumble about every little thing -> Here even I have nothing to report ;-)

Starting Eternum after finishing Once in a Lifetime is like reuniting with a great old friend; he's now older, more mature, better looking but his heart is still the same. My one regret is I now have to anxiously wait for the next update.
Also I'd like to believe that after finishing his terms, former president Michael Stabb is now finally back to hunting for the treasure of Henry Avery.

WOW! Really great work with this game, Absolutely top tier storytelling and graphics.
It's a story driven, click and choose game, with good steamy scenes, the developer has put an insane amount of work in this and it shows, its very polished.
