VN - Ren'Py - Eternum [v0.8.6 Public] [Caribdis]

Even if very specific, I'd like to tell you my relation with this AVN.

Last year, I bought a Quest 2. Euro/American Truck Simulator, Skyrim, VaM. It was awesome.
But somehow, this game, while drunk and of VR, brought me the best "fantasy" experience.
At some point, I was IRL drunk and arrived the... prom night? How fitting.
The timing (in my own life), the lenght of the whole scene... It felt "me" but in someone else's skin. Nova then Penelope? (BTW, add Y'ALL in your games the walkthrough please) felt a dream come true.
Not a loser anymore. I won it all. And felt at peace with miself.
Sexuality is not something that should be harnessed or ashamed, but understood. We live with it, we don't escape it.

I still am a looser, but I'm REALLLY working on it. Buying a cheap house soon.
And YES, I DO think this game helped me moving on in my life.

One of the games that sets a standard on F95, and proves that if you take your time, you can make something really interesting!

Story, Animation, Pacing and more, it's done really well.

If you need a game to dig your teeth into, this is one of them.

Characters 5/5

It has Nancy and Calypso as udder perfection, no arguement needed, best women. Now that the truth is out of the way, all characters are written in a way thats believable and you can emotiionally invest yourself in them. All the love interests have a distinct personality and their own agency. Very solid character writing. MC even has a male friend which is nice. Orion, the MC has a personality of his own while allowing you to self insert.

Story 5/5

A very fun sci-fi story to read. Action, romance, mystery, horror etc. The game has it all. Comedy, subjective to each person, can be hit or miss and can over stay its welcome in a couple spots. For my tastes is was mostly hit. Dialogue flows naturally and organically so it sounds like real conversations. One downside is again, the comedy can drown out some of the serious moments.

8th world wonder on how much Cardi and the modders got out of Honey Select 2. The gold standard in renders. You can tell a lot of pain staking time when into the renders. You wont leave disappointed in render quality.

Top tier in the AVN world. Nancys scene... mama knows how to ride in the way only a sexy mature lady knows how to ride. Jesting aside, all animations are hot asf except Novas. Ok Novas is hotasf too with her energetic ass. The camera work is excellent, angles are awesome. Just needs a car chase and Tom Cruise esque running in a future update and we got ourselves a blockbuster.

I dont like it, makes me feel insecure. Its not outrageously forearm big, like 2 hands big. Orion be packing some heat down there. Personal taste.

Simple and it works. Has a gallery to see all of Nancys greatenss and the wonderful genes passed down to see some more of her 2nd hand greatness. And Nova if your into that. Each love interest has their own character sheet with a few little quick facts. Nice little touch, would be nice to know what Calypso's favorite movie is though. #SIDEgirlsNEEDlove2.

Music

I mute everything, PTSD from random moaning inserted into the music instead of sound in other games. No idea if its good or not in Eternum. Not going to risk it to find out.

I know, I know, hyped all that shit up only to give this a 4/5. Later half of the P into V scenes have a similar vibe story wise if that makes sense. Will probably get spiced up the closer to end game we get.

I think this one has about the same issues as some of the other popular AVN has.
From a porn game perspective, there is clearly not enough content (2-3 scenes per girl so far). Not a big problem - if the plot, character, setting, etc, are good enough, then the scenes are just a bonus right?
But if you look at this game from a non-porn game perspective, it gets a bit rough because porn-logic is used everywhere.
All girls are somehow top-model level of beauty. The 39 years old looks younger than most 25 years old in real life.
They are all single, somehow, despite being pretty open to relationship and generally fairly horny (some of them especially), apparently having waited so long for the MC to give them a good dicking. They all get talked into naughty things fairly easily.
Girls are walking stereotype for the most part. Alex and Nova are a bit interesting but others I have seen a thousand times already.
MC can casually be 7-timing the group of girls, some of them who are constantly talking to each other, but no one minds apparently. Some of them actually fantasize about the whole polyamorous and sharing thing.
Only girls are allowed to become proper allies, because...huh...I guess because wasting time on character that will not be fucked is a waste of time?
Men are either antagonists or comedic relief. Proper care is taken to make sure they are not seen as potential rival.
MC is chosen one, everything goes his way, be it in the main plot or in the girl's hearts. His cock makes porn stars ashamed of their size. When he goes fuck a prostitute, the prostitute says "No need to pay, it was just that good!". When he goes on a date with girls, he randomly find world-class treasures. He is generally rewarded for making poor decisions, which can be confusing if you play without a guide.
I could go on, there is a lot of stupid things to talk about I think, but I think I made my point. None of the above would be a big issue if I saw it as a porn game, but as I said in the beginning, it's hard for me to see it as one.

I guess I'm being pretty harsh in all fairness.

This is as good as AVNs get. The story is very engaging. While the concept is basically a carbon copy of Ready Player One, I don't think that's bad or stale as that idea is quite open-ended, and it allows you to explore many different fantasy worlds and includes many fun pop culture references.

The execution is top notch. Jokes are actually funny. The graphics are incredible and some animations actually made my jaw drop.

And of course the lewd scenes are HOT. This game also manages to make every LI loveable and worth pursuing. So yes for me this is GOAT of AVNs and there's not even really any close competition. Eternum is just miles ahead

This game is the best. period. There's a reason this dev has 2 games in the top 5 of all time. The storytelling, character and world building are phenomenal. Very immersive. Every update leaves you on the edge of your seat! This is my #1 recommendation for any game on this site by far.

This is one of the best games out there: with a compelling story, likeable characters and attractive women. It is a very high quality game and the creator has poured a lot of creativity in it. It is top notch: give it a try!

Many VN games don't really interesting to me but this one is the most awesome game and the greatest, first VN game I play. Story is fun,feel lovely and chill, thrilling... good writing from developer. Character kinda cute, 3D character is not my type but still. The game still in develop so I'll wait for more next story hehe

Excellence work, whether it's on art or the links between those characters, with different disposition. I think what makes this game different from all those other adult game is its plot, the producer welly expalins that actions are serve for those plots in the background. This is real master piece, I can tell even I havent finish it. Few of adult games can make me will to read carefully and put myself into it to the scenes, no those sex scenes but these interesting conversations between those characters with distinctive personalities.

My absolute favorite. This game is seriously amazing. Let it be the story, the characters (including the MC), the h-scenes, the choices, everything is incredible. I’m genuinely enjoying every aspect of it. Trust me, it is worth your time.

I'm mad that there's not more games like this. Caribdis is too good, only game designer I wait for diligently to update. The quality of art from once in a lifetime gives it a definitive 5 stars in my heart

This is by far one of the best adult games I've ever played.

You can tell right away from the screenshots if you'll like this games art style or not, and if you do, i believe you'll enjoy the animations as well. You can tell that alot of work went into them, and its one of the highlights of this game.

Speaking of highlights, another one is its writing. Early on it shows off its comedy chops, and it's something you'll love or hate, but it truly has been enjoyable. There are plenty of movie, game, and anime references in here that just make your time spent playing all that more fun.

The final highlight is the characters. I was genuinely surprised at how well written and layered they truly are, and that is no easy feat. They have their own likes and dislikes, goals and ambitions, and [most importantly], they are not without their own flaws. It is rare to find that in adult games, and I believe that should be "applauded"

All in all, 10 out of 10.

Animations are excellent, characters are cool, story is not a total bore. These things result in a Win! and a 5 star review in my book. If you are a fan of these types of games, there is definitely something here for you, and this is far before a full release. Good work!

I already had high expectactions from all the positive reviews from everyone in the AVN communities, but WOW, this game is really something else, it has a lot of good humour and I found the story very compelling with all those different dimensions and mysteries in Eternum, the girls all have very distinct personalities which makes the conversations very enjoyable throughout the game and I loved the artstyle of all the girls and the world in both kredon and all those different dimensions explored, looking forward to what happens in the following episode.

I played it when it was 0.7.5 version and while I'm unsure if I'll be around when final version is out, I'm sure it'll be good.

Art is splendid, I definitely found a lot of things to like. Compared to his previous game, this one has more girls and I like more of them while before I was a "family" man. Really good art. Once in a Lifetime changed my view on those realistic looking porn games and this one just solidified it.

Gameplay-wise, samish this as before, mostly VN but you end up having to pay attention at what you are doing. Or savescum but that gets boring and tedious fast. It ends up faster to play by reading than skipping.

Story is fun, characters are fun. I usually don't really enjoy VNs, it triggers my gotta collect them all instincts and that ends up being heavy save scumming, breadth-search option picking and backtracking. This guy knows how to make an interesting VN.

Maximum recommendations.

I went expecting another shitty porn game, but the scene with Micaela in the beggining just exploded my expectations, well writen, good humor, good art and good character design.
I highly recommend this game.

Just finished my second playthrough in a few weeks.
I delayed playing Eternum as much as possible after finishing OIALT because i knew it would be awesome but i finally fell into it. I was right and I enjoyed every minute of the game. Love the story, the characters, the importance given to details and the overall quality of the game.
I was a bit worried during the first two chapters because the renders were a bit "weird" but Cari did a great job and from .3 the quality has been growing with every update and are easily on top quality. The writing is always at the top and I love the humor especially in unexpected moments.
Now I'm a passenger of the wait train. Hopefully next update is not too far now.
I know Cari sometimes read theses so please keep the awesome work, your game is great and take all the time you need to keep the quality as it is or even better <3.

I’ve got to say, I played their other game, Once in a Lifetime, before this, and while there were a few things to nitpick, I felt like it set a pretty high bar for this style of game. Then I played Eternum, and it somehow took everything great about Once in a Lifetime and made it even better.

The dev clearly leveled up every aspect: the girls are incredibly attractive, the animations are top-notch, the writing is phenomenal, and the humor actually lands. The world is interesting, the characters are well written, the MC is genuinely likable, and the sound design and music both add to the atmosphere. The art fits perfectly, and the character models in both games are so well done that I don’t think anyone does it better.

What’s really impressive is being able to play an H-game for hours without even noticing, simply because you’re so immersed in the story and the characters. I can’t help but appreciate the clear amount of effort that went into making this. Criticizing this game almost feels like nitpicking, and I cannot fathom giving this a low rating. This has to be the gold standard for H-games using this style of character models. Everything is just so refined. All the standout elements from Once in a Lifetime are here, but taken to a whole new level.

Best game on this site, no questions. Super hot, exceptional story and writing, funny and engaging. Thrilled about every update. Caribdis is an absolute artist and makes the game look so damn good. I cannot recommend this game enough
