VN - Ren'Py - Eternum [v0.8.6 Public] [Caribdis]

Damn you game, I want to love you for so many things you're doing flawlessly, but I just can't.

Very nice selection of girls, but most are underdeveloped. Wouldn't be complaint normally since it's very early version, but there's like 50 characters introduced so far.

Story is brilliant. But develops way too fast. One moment MC is logging to this super hard to level up game, next he's doing end-game shit....slow down a bit will you?

So there we are, beautiful girls, great story, mysterious plot....It should be 4/5 at minimum.

So why'd I go star lower?

Well, if a person treats me like a shit, I don't consider that person interesting, I consider them asshole, no matter their reason or how hot they are.
If a person puts a knife to my throat the first time we meet, I don't immediately 10 seconds later befriend that person and treat everything like it never happened.

It's a game and all, but for fucks sake...

And finally, cardinal sin, during one game chapter there's about 10-20 blitz flashes from camera while screen is black (I can't begin to describe how much I hate that, like genuinely HATE it, almost to the point of dropping a game hate it).
And to add additional flavor to it, JUMP SCARE, because it's semi-horror game area so of course.
That's one star that's never coming back, even if the rest of the game develops to be best game ever available on F95.

Will review the game again in later builds, since it's an amazing start, few shortcomings aside (and my personal pet peeve is just that, my personal problem, so if you don't mind flashing blitzes from black screen and jump scare, add one star back)

the humor actually is really funny and the sex scenes are beautiful. Characters look really good and story is pretty easy to understand. Was kinda surprised with the horror but it was pretty bearable. I really liked their past game "Once in a Lifetime" and I have high hopes with this game

I've been following the evolution of the game since v1, and what can I say, the work done is perfect, the story is captivating, the characters interesting and each version makes you want to play the next one.

This story could legit be a Netflix series or a tv show that I would binge-watch. It has a lot of depth and humor, and of course, the sex scenes are great. Whoever is writing the dialogue and creating the story is a genius. It's far above even the top quality you will find on this site. Although the sex scenes aren't as frequent as in other games when they come; it feels fitting as the characters become more and more desirable.

If only More games had same quality of polish. I played quite a few of games in here but none come close to this. Attention to details animation ''per frame'' (dialogue) etc this one is just above others in so many ways.

The story itself (with no spoilers) is not bad and quite believable at times. I do not lie that at one point i started playing this not for sex scenes but for the quality of animations and dialogue. This game could have been all about story and id still would have played it. So far amount of characters involvement is memorable which is also great - many games introduce you to too many characters alot of times too soon - meaning they only serve as a ''get laid'' role instead of being a person with character (be it male or female in this ones case - even side characters have alot of character to them)

I could go on but it is best for You to try this ones Yourself. You wont be disapointed.

Don't usually rate, but shit was so fucking good.

The game as a lot of variety like romance, horror, reference from other famous games and a universe rly intersting.

It's Funny, dope, fun, and more. Models full with characters and great scenes. Also, did not expect this. But also very immersive. Which probably its strongest point. And if you play the game you'll know exactly what I'm talking about.

This is probably the best game I've played to date. I really can't think of any negatives.

Great characters and dialog. Coding is solid, and the visuals look stunning. It even tosses in some decent humor.

Look forward to the next update.

This game has been amazing, I honestly wasn't sure what it was gonna be like at first but damn, the mystery and foreshadowing is next-level and the story has me wanting to see the end of it all.


The girls are great, they all have their own personalities and likes and dislikes, so far I like them all. It's really hard to choose a favorite out of them all but so far Alex is mine simply because of the tats, it's my type of thing.

My all-time favorite moments of the story are the MC and his insane reaction speeds, they are legitimately so goddamn badass, I hope we get more of those badass moments.

Last of all..
Anyway, I can't wait for the full game to play through completely. Keep up the good work.

Truly one of the very, very few AA quality games in the naughty game genre.
The attention to detail and sheer amount of work that goes into this is truly a rarity to find in the VN space.
Sure, the character models aren't everyones cup of tea but believe me, through immense care and talent in posing and lighting, he makes them work.
Apart from all that the dev is great at story telling. I've briefly forgotten the fappy aspect of the game several times along this rollercoaster ride of emotions.
There is no expansive branching storyline and choices are few and far between, but that is okay and I think that it's part of the charm of this game.

All in all, 10 out of 10, would play a disfigured broccoli head again every time.

There is a great and immersive storry that almost makes you feel like you are playing an anime. the renders are looking fine and the NSFW scenes make sence (for a game like this)

The game is somewhat linear, but there are diferrent scenarios you chose that effect what people think of you or what point of view you get of the storry

Greate game, pretty cool story hope it's development is progressing smoothly now i have a reason why i need to support even with the smallest impact because this game is awesome. Im a casual player and here just for the journey but the mystery part of it really intrigues me

Great Game, I'm only a casual player on Ren'Py VN games and this is my first ever review [As of 0.3] sooo yeah..
- Really great story, not really that of LMAO but enough to make you smile all the time (I could say its not poorly written). A good slice of life.
-Story makes the sex scene more worth it like there's a build up to it? Makes you look forward to get the Heroine(s). Not like it came out of porn.
-Design wise, all the girls are beautiful, Also Dev(s) really know how to make someone look old or mid aged.
-The Choice of Music is good too, it really sets up the mood on certain scenes, (I never felt that scared on a porn game) There's a particular scene where I thought I was really watching a teenage movie/series.

-Only Challenge in this game is that its one of those that you have to be careful on your "Choices" since 2 or all of em seems right (depends on the players moral) or you could miss out a scene (had to play it 3 times without walkthrough to unlock all)

this is probably the most fun I've ever had with a game on here. The writing, storyboard, and pacing are all great. I really love the little edits they put in. I'm very excited for future updates. My favorite part is the characterization and how everyone is a unique personality distinct from each other.

Great start to the game. I was highly impressed by Once in a Lifetime, so I was very excited to finally start Eternum. So far, the humor once again is outstanding. Caribdis's sense of humor really gets me. It's not too often that games like this actually get a genuine laugh out of me. And the characters are fantastic and compelling as always. And, of course, the animations and character models are stunning. I'm really looking forward to seeing the twists and turns that are ahead.

Edit: I'm starting to notice that Chang has become a lot like Stabby in the sense that he keeps showing up randomly. I'm not sure if I like it yet or not. Like are we just trying to recreate the gold we had in OIAL or is there something else going on? Maybe I'm looking too much into it. Or perhaps he is Stabby's son??? In all seriousness, if this is the closest thing I have to a "negative," then Caribdis is doing everything right.

So I saw how this is the highest rated game and thought it would be just some bandwagon. Nope, even with the version 0.3 it's literally the best game on site.
The writing is so natural, funny and sometimes immersive you really get attached to the characters and there's already a lot of content. Better dialogues than most shows and games.
The lewd stuff has amazing renders and is just really hot.
Absolute recommend.

Game is fantastic and sucks you in.
Story, visuals, humor, world building; best in the business

Only 2 downsides:

- The erotic pacing of the game is slightly off
- The story starts fantastic, but towards the end of the current build the pace of the story accelerates so fast that it takes away from the charm this game has.

I've never wrote anything on this site yet. But this game is what changed the thing.
No matter what is your cup of tea, I think you'd probadly ended up loving this game.
The art, the soundtrakcs, the stories, the timing are all excellently executed.
Just give it a try if you could. Hoping it comes to steam soon so I could grab a copy to support the author/s.

The best game I have played in a while, but is very flawed.

Eternum is an extremely ambitious project in a VRMMORPG setting that clearly tries to be more than just an adult game, and succeeding for the most part.

The art is outstanding, with a good amount of polish and editing, good humor that fits in well (as I was expecting from the previous title of this developer) and an interesting plot.

There is one major area in which this game lacks though, and that's world building. The pacing is inconsistent and generally too fast. There are too many characters you're involved with right at the start, and more importantly, no time is taken to properly build the world that is Eternum, the VR game that is central to the games plot.

You are immediately thrown into end-game content, as a noob, competing with the supposedly best of the best. It makes it feel like you didn't earn your your power. The story talks about the difficulty of leveling up but we are never shown what that looks like, even in a summarized form. Very little time passes between each major event. And it all makes it feel like there is no substance in the world of Eternum, as a result the parts outside of the VR world are more interesting. If you make a fictional world you need to build it, especially if its disconnected from reality.

It is not too late to add in world building but I have my doubts as to whether this aspect of the game can get on track, which is unfortunate, because there is so much potential here.

Another issue is that with most dialogue options there is one good and one wrong answer. I don't like that implementation of choice. It would be nice to see more options where both are correct, but result in your relationship developing in a different way...
