It's actually been suggested that the primary market for shemale or trap porn is straight males - women generally aren't interested and it's not gay enough for gay men. Anecdotal observations from a few different people who worked in adult video stores tended to emphasize it was always guys who were buying/renting straight porn who also went for the other.
Though there's probably an argument in favor of the idea that it's a way for straight men to explore their own incidental homosexuality through more socially acceptable means or by sort of splitting the difference. But it's also understandable why most games have limited choices. Because every extra preference or fetish catered to increases the workload, takes longer to develop, and doesn't necessarily add a huge amount of extra income to justify it. So most devs have to try and cater to the most common denominator preferences (which is why landladies and roommates have become so common in games these days).
