So I am getting a Failed to load: img/titles2/ and then some Japanese and then a 2.png. Does anybody know what to do or work around this because I have no clue

Sorry to clarify I get some Japanese and then at the end of it I get a 2.png

my guess is that you don't have a japanese unicode installed on your PC which corrupts files from extracting the game

that or you're talking to the white haired npc slavegirl who is bugged thanks to the translation but there is a fixed ver. of it somewhere in the thread

The bug happens as soon as I open the game. Is there something I can install for the Japanese unicode?

there are plenty of guides here on this site on how to do it and plenty on the web so just google it
