Not sure where put thread.

In a nutshell for some reason f95zone metadata images don't seem to want to work with media editor anymore. (few months now) and I can't figure out why. Steam games, dlsite images, misc images work fine but f95zone for some reason not.

Icon it shows, but cover and background not. So wonder if anyone has similar issue and solution for it. Can't really ask on playnite discord without getting banned xD

hi,

don't know nothing about playnite media editor, but if this is about images taken from being on display in forum topics, these for "few months now" are in .avif formatting.
When saving them with chromium-based browsers, they will still say "whatever.png" or "~.jpg", but they actually are "whatever.avif".

and some programs or websites (including f95zone) can not handle those files well. Other programs can handle them well only when they are not misnamed.

Load any problem picture into an image viewer that can display it properly*, and then "save as ..." jpg/png/bmp and try to use that one with that "playnite media editor".

*With AV1 codec installed, paint can do that.

Okay seems they actually are "HEIF/HEIC" if I open image data in GIMP ... okay that makes sense. Because saving same file as PNG in Paint fixes the issue indeed..

This will be rather frustrating... as this will mean I will have to manually download each game entry image as PNG. Which means a lot of extra steps.

Considering previously playnite just grabs f95z metadata and adds the images (giving selection which image to choose) and then I could just edit image size/aspect ratio conveniently in the app.

Will have to ask f95zone addons threads if they can change it up anyhow.
