F95Zone API?

There are some tools which scans F95Zone for updates of games and whatever.
But do they use a standardised API to access the content(database) or have the developer made their own implementation(parsing the site)?

I've seen talks in the past about different people with different web based project/tool ideas, such as their own game site. I don't know how they would achieve that (ie who would use a new website with no user base?), but if F95 did have an API that would be cool, if not for just for the simple effect of checking for updates (vs setting up one's own server?)
